Round 24 2024
The draw, the venues, the timings ... all seems so depressing now ... hope Max is given a well-deserved rest from the responsibilities that he has endured this season. Bring into the team, for the final rounds of the H and A season, all of the cherubs languishing at Casey. It is time to bite the cherry (or it may be the lemon), sack Badloss, re-structure and present an experience pathway for debutants and tenderfoots to the 2025 season. Why not?

Time to go Goody?
Nutshell summation here on matters overdue for correction. Fully agree but largely overlooked by the Club.

Time to go Goody?
We must prioritize a better list supported by a better (creative and adaptable) coach, team of coaches/trainers, player attitudes and skills. Already, it is three years too late. Let us not have a fourth year of expectant misery.

Time to go Goody?
Anything was possible, it was just an opinion that I have mulled over for a couple of years.

Time to go Goody?
I still hold the opinion that the mindsets of Clarrie, Gawn, Tracca and Viney, coming onto the ground after half-time in a little puddle of conversation and gesturing, won us the flag, ignoring Badloss' directions and making the play to a glorious victory from their own wisdom, guts and bravery, and determination to rip the far Ken game apart.

Time to go Goody?
Nice idea should a gun coach not be available.

Rebuild Time WERRIDEE Style
No, not Sparrow ... something is hiding there as a tough nut who can kick it a mile with accuracy, attack anyone from all opposition engagements, run to receive, find spaces and defend himself if challenged - it's just that Badloss has not yet found a way to apply him to a side in need of quicker ball movement, running contests, goal-shooting accuracy and inate 'mongrel' tendencies.

The Quambatook Fifths are comparatively graced by a better-organised fixture. Similarly, Nar Nar Goon Fourths have benefitted from games held Saturdays - without abnormal variations - and their occasional visits to their Tribunal authority are as smooth as afternoon tea and scones in a sun-filled meadow with a large herd of grazing cattle strolling by to gain insight into some well-planned, civilized banter.

Not sure we can do without Bowie, perhaps we should just hope for an increase in his form and better team support. At present, he is called upon to out-mark, out-tackle and out-reach many opposition talls and rather talls, which is too much for anyone to expect without that 'defensive support' that is definitely required. Hibberd, Rivers and Sparrow - for one reason or the other - are no longer there. Certainly, their backline assistance and that of Salem are somewhat missed.

Goody is a genius!!!
With the number of promising recruits and possibly useful transfers (imports) into our team across the past few years, who have either stayed stagnant as footballers (not making regular appearances in the AFL team or producing the promise they have held for the future, or have been traded out to other clubs - some with pleasing form improvements under other coaching panels) it would appear that across the last five to six years our development work and absolute recruiting agendas have seriously been left wanting. We are now experiencing a talent deficit, although some young guns have displayed terrific, accelerated form potentials. This is surely a deficit within the laws of averages for both recruitment and intensified player development, and one that locks us into a state of continuing, middle-order mediocrity.

What was your excuse?
I was elsewhere, living in Adelaide with a birthday party to attend within the family. I did watch the telecast that was disappointing to say the least - and have felt ill all day with such a result to the game.

What a WOFTAM! (waste of ******* time and money), certainly missing the sentiments of 99% of the footballing public.- PREGAME: Rd 20 vs GWS
Jeffo may well be very useful - at a time when Fritta is down on form and impact - and Jeffo will only benefit from the experience and senior onfield associations. Many things appear quite possible, and Verral is just a moment away, as well. The same enrichment opportunities apply with Gawn back where his leadership can be consistently applied across a whole game. Given the return of Melk, the budding abilities of JVR and the keen eyes of ANB and Chin, things could really happen but it must be time to bring all of these synergies to the fore.- The Run Home
I'd be very accepting of such an outcome; I love our Demons and have maintained enormous enthusiasm as a supporter across many, many years through thick and thin, yet this year things have gone very wobbly wherein our skills and prospects have nose-dived, significantly. I regret to say it, but it is my belief that our season is relatively going to end outside the final eight. This does not have to be a gloomy forecast, it has many positives to build for 2025 (the improved selection/experience opportunities of new players and the settling of injury, illnesses, extraordinary umpiring and hopefully some coherent selections onfield and with recruitments in the coming future). To me, it seems most likely that we will finish this season around 9th or 10th on the ladder. There have been some games of which we can be very proud and from these, the future is quite bright. Player losses have been the most damaging element on our slate - and these began pre-season. Carna Dees!- Goody is a genius!!!
We must further develop an ability (all game) to run in waves, each side of the centreline end-to-end, with overlaps and creating both carriage and receiving options going forward, with those forwards leading to space, artfully, both sides. That is what cruelled us against against Freo, 'sharing the run' and 'receive'. When we did overlap - too infrequently - we we killing them, nearly each time. Only luck (for Freo) occasionally interceded. Coaching 101.
