On several occasions, I have seen him training (and he has done so at far greater effort, concentration and work rate than any other team member), so we should have confidence in his training philosophy and method(s). It is also time for Trac to slow down his external commitments and appearances; from his recent Adelaide adventures, he must have been 'almost' exhausted, as suspected during the Brizzy game, giving public addresses and forums, cooking demonstrations, travel to and from locations, preparations for the public domain whilst still meeting Club/Team commitments and preparations.

It is a good idea, D_J; suits the Dogs defensively, heals the MFC forward line (and most probably encourages the kickless to be far more mobile with an attacking forward like JUH onboard). If only it could happen!

Great news! Now is the time to get him coached correctly - further develop his potentials, provide him with enormous confidence and guile, to build a forward line around him in both potency and support.

Precisely! Prongs in all directions other than in the goal hot zone. Two players do it well, just two: Chandler and ANB. The rest pretend to clear and protect, crowd and populate chaos. Midfielders do not run on, either, missing certain prongs and overlooking such initiatives across the forward line. Our goal shooting is horse droppings as our foot passing is always sacrificed for the hope-and-a-prayer of our 'lovely' long kicks to weakness.

The writing was clearly on the wall with Brizzy's successes against us in the recent past. Again, we had no plan B, plan C, mid-game Plan D.

It's called 'football', but getting the ball is 'handball'. Collect the ball, pick up the ball, place the ball for good kicking - short or long alongside incredibly talented handball distribution normally associated with our master of the game. With a 50% reduction in hand availability and execution efficiency in its full sense, Clarrie played really well. He should have been 'rested' lest the Brisbane game cause further injury, not concentrated recovery from a serious wound. It's not Clarrie that deserves criticism or re-iterated, disparaging comments, it is 'whoever put him on the field'.

We are better than what we saw against Brisbane.

I think that BBB did nail all of the talking points ... and would love to see him show Daniher how it's all done as a player approaching a career sunset.

He is performing quite ok, doing more backline penetration to assist - that is a part of the team going forward. He is still running but I rather imagine that he is 'building' that ability for matches to come, working around his roles and team contributions in such a process (as we are bringing the ball forward quite differently this season). Perhaps he is not at peak fitness, just yet - perhaps he has other instructions other than running to possession spaces and instead, running as part of a clearance combination for our improving forward delivery. If he gets 10 metres before disposal, well and good, as he in now utilising handball to teammates far more effectively and at times, accurately within the chain.

Agree - nutshell summation. Depth is about to become another strong asset, as well.

Yep, agreed. We will always have the additional umpiring disadvantage over here in SA, as well, particularly against the Crows - moreso than with the Port team/fans/influences. We had better play cleanly, equally fast (at least) and exploit the flanks and spaces moving forward. It is going to be a win acquired/earned by loads and loads of team supported two-way running; this will most probably give Fritta, BBB, Kozzie and Chandler heaps of suited opportunities, as well. Interesting possibilities might well accrue.

Agree with it all. I, too, have watched him closely; particularly, at training or pre-game warm-ups, kicking 6 out of 6 from different angles, 55 metres out from goal, repetitively across a whole year, almost. Most went through post-high with no spiral or arc deviations. One day, in a game, given the opportunity and whole-team support, he is going to cut loose with a bagful, and indeed, may well start the journey to be amongst the top-scorers. Tough nugget, keen, getting out by himself - a developing opportunist for a long-term role.

Just play 'sunset Tex' hard with a strong lad - he will be useless by half-time, if not earlier given a mobile young bloke with attitude and courage.
