Got to ask the questions Source... or more so, context of source...
-
So what you're telling us, is that the concept of growth coming from within (be it training, age demographic, experience, role) is nowhere near as EXCITING as this time of year for you right? 😇

Favourite thing to see on Demonland Trade and Free Agency Forum... Also the most disappointing ... like deciding on eating my biennial Hungry Jacks Burger...and then regretting the decision.
-
Soooo.... are we there yet?
-
is that one of those weird app things doctoring the face? Is it meant to be meme worthy? I don't really get it?
-
I've been reading a few threads recently, and I've come to the conclusion that Hogan, Lever and May fit this bill... 😂

More pragmatism, less emotion... If Kysaiah leaves. What or whom do we get in return...

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Engorged Onion replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
You'd have to wonder what people in the industry see in Schache, to be able to determine why they are interested. They're clearly seeing some attributes that the pundits have missed. They'd also recognise the need for him to have a competitive nature. Has this been shown? Maybe... Clearly others think not... so again, what are the club seeing that Demonland pundits are not? I see a guy who is competitive... and displays it differently. I can't really imagine Beveridge playing someone who is not that way inclined. -
I thought I read somewhere that Tomlinson had 'failed' a medical at the Bulldogs? Anyone else confirm that?
-
culture issue?? 😬🤨
-
soz, was a bit snarky... and i know you didn't say that specifically.
-
why not? What do you know (seriously) that the football industry doesn't know...

It's an interesting conundrum. Do you back your own midfield and system to win 51% of the clearances and get good post clearance possession, or do you bring someone into the midfield, that actually depletes the opportunity ratio to do so, yet can (but not definitely) influence the opposition midfield possessions in the negative?

Just confirming that with Bedford, Harmes, Hunt, and Hunter becoming public knowledge in the last 12-24 hours, as well as Jackson and Grundy, we're now sufficiently active in the trade period for some pundits on Demonland?
-
Thanks for confirming... so who overtakes him in his role in the FD eyes? And... we will always have
-
My head said exactly the same thing.... 😍 not that I think it'll happen mind... and that's ok.

Pretty telling comment from Tim Lamb - We've been in talks all year with his manager, now was the time for Jayden to really make a decision to solidify his future in the game. Make of that what you will...
-
What's this palava about Harmes touring other facilities. Sigh... rookie listed, Demons supporter, lived out his dream for the club of his boyhood dreams... don't tell me it's over! 😔
-
You'd have to feel for Lobb - requesting a trade 2 years in a row... must be difficult to work hard for your employer week in week out as a by-product.

Language is important. And the 'felt' experience of Jayden is true for him. If he felt pushed out then that is a real experience, feeling angry, feeling sad. However, I'd imagine the conversation didn't go like 'Jayden, we're pushing you out'. The FD role is to perpetually improve the list, that is their intention, even with good servants, and even with people that the supporters like. Nonetheless, I am sure clear and concise information was given to Jayden (as it fits in with the culture of respect and transparency) as to why it would be good for him to explore options (as I am sure his manager was already doing this). Overall this is a little vignette of when a club is pushing to remain top 4 for a few years to come. The trade off between being loyal to incumbents and seeking to improving lists, whilst understanding that incumbents have a right to seek greater security, or greater pleasure in roles, or role clarity elsewhere if they can. Clearly the FD see Jayden's deficits as a bigger threat to potential premiership success than his assets. I'd also argue that if Jayden was on the list for another year, and happened to have Bowey or someone is surpass him. Then he may be languising in the 2's and thus miss out on an opportunity to be on a list after that. So if we get all Brene Brown - 'being clear, is being kind' - and it's actually a compassionate and humanistic act to give him that information for him to choose to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Has he/the club, confirmed he is gone? 😔 People talk about the headband... I'll miss the blonde 'mo'...if that's what the kids call it these days.
-
It certainly felt in 2021 - that Max would drift back to intercept in the D50/ half back line - far more frequently than he did this year? Not sure if others saw it the same way.
-
Curious... Is getting "as fit as he ever has been", the same as being less injured, and less 'coming back' from injury?
-
What! A! Post! I presume you had some knowledge @Ouch!?
