  1. On Danny, My recollection of Danny - and I was born in 1979, was a good enough guy, but would get towelled up fairly frequently. But I suppose the team would leak goals like nothing else through that era, until 1987... Now granted, I had it through the lens of ABC radio in country Vic as a child, and never saw him play a game live at all. Was he quite a good player? As I have always had him low in my estimations.
  2. I place a lot of weight in a teams ability to arrest momentum of its opponent piling on goals. Seems to be pretty good alignment with the ladder as well... Five-plus goal streaks conceded in 2023 23 - West Coast 16 - Hawthorn, North Melbourne 13 - Gold Coast 11 - Western Bulldogs 9 - Essendon 8 - Fremantle 7 - Adelaide, Richmond, St Kilda 6 - Greater Western Sydney 5 - Carlton, Collingwood, Port Adelaide, Sydney 4 - Brisbane, Geelong, Melbourne
  3. So new rumours. Perhaps a title change? Trade Speculators? I miss The Riddler...
  4. It's unheard of as, Leigh Montanga noted - due to the impact of the +1 at the contest that Carlton employed compared to Melbourne's -1, on the data that goes into compiling 'pressure'. Generally speaking, be aware of aligning the 'pressure gauge' with the desire to win or hunger...
  5. Conceptually I love the idea of not showing your hand. I'm just not sure what it may look like in practice...
  6. Who was better? Nic Nat or [censored] and Swimming? [censored] = type of bird that rhymes with pits.
  7. True, but fewer scoring shots. Depends what you like to favor
  8. Dead set [censored]....
  9. "INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE!!" - as per... every. time. The umpires are exonerated for their decision making. Jonno Ralph - letting us all know that the AFL have 'ticked off' the decision on Petracca's non goal last night... FMD.
  10. I know nothing @dazzledavey36 - what position and whom would have to drop out?
  11. It’s like it’s going ‘to script’ @Clintosaurus no?
  12. Pondering, are we good enough this year? Some perspective on Losses: 9 points 27 points 4 points 7 points 15 points 2 points 4 points Top 4 is the first goal to be reached, and this has effectively being achieved (3.5% chance of dropping out). Well done to the team and the FD. We've had significant injuries in significant parts of the ground. Now on to Season number 2 - we're well versed in it, and play our game in such a way... Are we good enough? Yes, yes we are. ❤️💙 The question remains, do we have the right personnel at the right time in the right slots? Hmmmm
  13. It’s called a skill execution error… not a brain fade. It was the correct decision.
  14. Just cause... (it was the first time I had noticed the female form as a 10yo)
  15. That would be an incredible deal.
  16. Mmmm, poll time.
  17. Thanks Chomper, all the best ❤️💙
  18. Nah, its was more the point that irrespective of context (importance of player) the response should (could) be the same. Of course its not, and I just think its hypocritical.
  19. None of us gave a $hite when Turner went down.... we don't 'deserve' to have the knowledge considering its personal information. It's quite the entitled stance. We seem to have 'finally' nicely gone along the 7 stages of grieving re: communicating Clayton's injury... it'd be nice for supporters to manage themselves for any other injury going forward.
  20. sorry to talk about someone else - but is Dean Kent did something similar? Is he still on a list? Thanks Deano! @biggestred - 100% was my thoughts as well. "Being terrible for so long, is no long the present situation"..
  21. We all know it's window dressing... I'd say the same thing in a press conference if I wanted to reinforce a *cough* 'growth mindset'.... They've got flaws, big ones, and judging by the 'premiership metrics' they're pretty [censored]. Sometimes the eye test, is completely incorrect, a la the lens on Collingwood and probably the current lens on the Dees.
  22. It's pretty nice to be a supporter of a team who genuinely feels that even if we are 5 goals down, I have an expectation that we can certainly kick 10-14 in a row. Never had that for the last 30 odd years of my football supporting life.
  23. Well, as Kevin Dyson once said to Ricky Jackson. ’Keep doing you champ’. 🥰
