Sorry, must have the wrong thread (which was started by others), I thought the idea was to discuss his injury
-
Very new in fact, been a mfc member for 25 years. Many have made similar criticisms that I have so if you want to be precious go ahead. Happy with mfc and the playing list but the management decisions just this year have left a lot to be desired
-
Agree they are normally judicious but got this one wrong. The point has been missed my many in this thread. Marketing content needs to suit the channel of choice and it doesn't on this occasion. More than happy for jonesy to promote directly via mobile channels for mfc content and other channels for sponsors.
-
The content wasn't the issue. Just offering to give a MFC jumper if you switch to the sponsors product
-
Happy for marketing to go crazy when promoting MFC membership, events, news etc and use players names to draw attention. But feel sorry for Jonesy having to put his name up for direct marketing promo text messages like the one I got re a MFC sponsor yesterday (won't mention their name). Feels like I am being mislead things its about pure MFC stuff Don't mind his picture being used above the line on TV, bill boards, magazines etc but not in direct marketing to my personal mobile. Not a big issues but prefer it didn't happen.

Hibberd is still out for round 1 and more i think. He has obviously strained or torn something. When they use the word 'knock' is basically saying we don't want to tell you too much. A little disrespectful to supporters

The remaking of Brendan McCartney - Herald Sun
Demons1858 replied to Cheap Seats's topic in Melbourne Demons
The way I read the article, there is an element of McCartney putting his name out there to the footy world again, acknowledging that he has learnt from some mistakes. Clearly that means he would do things differently if given the opportunity again. I recall he was said to have interviewed for the main coaching job I believe at the essendon -
or ""dear football gods how on earth do we drop that game to GWS" ... proud of their efforts none the less
-
There are some signs that Goodwin's decision making can be off the mark (even with a small sample). 1. Massive Viney fan but vice captaincy would have been better and captain way too early. Disrespectful to Jonesy 2. Taking past captain all the way to WA to sit on the pine. Disrespectful to Trenners 3. Handling of Watts situation could have been communicated more clearly at the beginning - still not 100% conviinced we know whats happepened there 4. Understand why playing Spencer is important so Max has the tank to make it through to the end of the year and finals, but not sure he is up to it

Does anyone know what the girls chant after singing the grand old flag?
-
I'm starting to worry. Ideal time would have been the agm or the season launch. No other events to before round 1 so will likely launch the sponsor on the footy show. Not ideal. Hope they can pull a rabbit out of the hat
-
Don't like saying it but we have a history of disrespecting our captains. If it's a line ball call whether to play trenners or someone else then we should be leaning towards our past captain who still has youth on this side to play in a successful era. I actually find the decision very embarrassing for the club and it does anger me that this happens time and time again

Whenever i hear a player has a knock i tend to be suspicious. History tells me they are often a cover up for a more serious injury. My feeling is that he has been nursing and managing this injury for a while now. I think he missed since training early in the preseason also

The What Do You Think of the New Clash Guernsey Poll
Demons1858 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
If any team deserve the right to stay true to their colours it Melbourne with its long heritage in the game. Assume we will have to have a 3rd strip also which is annoying -
Many of past agm's have finished singing/paying the theme song. Not this one. Don't mind either way-just interesting, Having said that I missed the last few
-
They would have to enter themselves into a local league you'd think. Probably still need the women's league to mature first.

New Major Sponsor: Automotive Holdings Group (AHG)
Demons1858 replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
No announcements or updates provided on back of jumper sponsor -
Mentioned celebrating diverity through a round and making that a key event for the club. Mentioned there was a footy cost to playing games in China and current strategy was focused on attracting new diverse support here in Australia

New Major Sponsor: Automotive Holdings Group (AHG)
Demons1858 replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wonder whether the back of jumper sponsor might be announced at the AGM tonight -
Bringing in hutchy means they can set the show up to more closely model it's more successful structure under Eddie. Armed with more inside info hutchy will be able to provide the odd scoop and ask more pointed questions of guests. Gary and Bradshaw were safe options when Eddie left but added nothing new to the show. Sam has carried the show. Happy for both to be doing something different

Short and sharp but lacking on insight

Lets agree to disagree. I wish Gary a healthy life but would prefer not to hear from him on my preferred radio station
-
Paraphrasing here but Billy said recently they hadn't spoken and that he would take a call to chat and would consider working with him after that. If they haven't spoken then there can't have been an apology. Suspect Gary is still up to no good Gary's private behaviour is relevant as he consistently passes judgement on the private behaviour of other footballs on shows like footy classified. Also, you need to be a personality and / or have credibility about footy subject matter to be in footy media performer - otherwise I could do it. If you become unpopular through your actions then there is a cost to your brand when he comes back on air seeking a viewing audience that will fund the advertising that will fill the coffers of the station that will pay him his wage. So it does matter that he did what he did in his 'private' life

Melbourne midfield ranked worst in AFL by Champion Data
Demons1858 replied to SaberFang's topic in Melbourne Demons
Still reminisce about the day we beat them in Vancouver
