Newton - absolutely useless footballer Miller - can't kick goals McKenzie - an OK debut Cheney - keep playing him Johnson - delist him now Morton - very good job

Off-field, maybe, but I was talking on-field. He's been leading from the front on the field, and playing some decent football as well.

Demonland Player of the Year Round 17

Other than Bruce, agree with those comments. I'm pretty sure Demonland just picks 3 of the votes given. You can't be selected two weeks in a row, either. -
They mentioned this on One Week at a Time tonight. Walls and Harley basically defended him by saying that the guy coming at him was twice his size and that most young players find themselves in a similar situation at some point. He mightn't be happy with his effort, but he's a first year player.

People are getting a little bit too stupid here. If you honestly think that bringing Sylvia back will mean we win, have a look at what happened yesterday. Richmond, with not much to play for, beat Essendon, with everything to play for. Bringing Sylvia back won't matter, provided we leave Miller, Newton and Johnson in the forward line.

Demonland Player of the Year Round 17
titan_uranus replied to warren dean's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's not how it works HT. Demonland doesn't tally up all the votes. He randomly selects 3 entries, tallies those, then multiplies by the weighting for each match. -
That surprises me. Simpson's been having a great year.

Despite the fact that many/most of us want to see us lose, we can't ignore the ineptitude of Miller, Newton and Johnson. Another woeful goal-kicking display from Newton and Miller, neither of whom should be on our list next year (contracts aside). Johnson is just hopeless. Liked McKenzie's game though.

6. Davey 5. Rivers 4. Morton 3. Warnock 2. Moloney 1. Jurrah Newton sucks. -
This result leaves West Coast in a precarious position (from Melbourne's standpoint). There really isn't much incentive for them to win another game. On paper you'd back them against North Melbourne and Richmond at home, but I thought they would beat Fremantle last night and they didn't. However, I did read in the HUN today that the general consensus is that West Coast and Fremantle, if they had the choice, would pass on Tom Scully because they're afraid he will return to Victoria when he gets the chance. According to the article they will take Morabito before him.

There are three stand out issues with Kelli. 1. Her voice makes listening to her difficult. Unfortunate for her, but that's just the way it is. 2. Her bias towards Geelong permeates through her commentary. 3. She isn't very good at calling what happens. I've certainly heard worse commentators than Kelli (Bartlett, Morphett, McAvaney) in terms of their ability to call a football match, but her Geelong bias and her annoying voice make her a complete failure as a TV commentator. Note that her gender has absolutely nothing to do with it. Kelli's voice and ability in a male body would not change anything.

I must admit, I was surprised to see them still here. I guess I would have expected them to have left by now. Must be leaving tomorrow morning. Glad to see you're positive about Cheney. Love the kid. I've been scratching my head as to why he was dropped the last time. Look forward to seeing him play on Sunday.
-
No what? This is the second time he's been dropped. I would say his time is almost up.

That's three in a row on TV if I'm not mistaken. Great run. Better than what Sandy used to get. McNamara had better play well and get into that senior Casey team soon. I want to see him playing for Melbourne before the year's out.
-
The more injuries we get, the more chances we get to blood our youngsters. Get McKenzie, McNamara, Bail, Valenti, Spencer, maybe Hughes and let them experience AFL football.
-
Yeah, saw this on the Footy Show last night. Sad for him that he has to wait until next year for his 200th, but hopefully we get a win when he does play it.
-
They haven't flown over yet. I was just at Chadstone shopping centre and saw Frawley, Meesen, Cheney, Dunn and Johnson in a group. So they are still in Melbourne. However, I hope that you are correct in saying that Valenti and Cheney will play. I really hope Cheney gets to play out the rest of the year.
-
Why are we playing Newton and Miller? I'd rather see all of Valenti, McKenzie, Bail and Cheney get a game. Wouldn't make a difference to the result. Robertson's career is all but over.
-
Absolutely hate this idea. There's nothing wrong with it the way it is. And a countdown from 10 to 1, followed by an interview conducted by Vlad? A ridiculous gimmick.
-
Yeah, from memory Petterd missed a gimme shot to keep the contest tight, but he fluffed it, and that was the end of that.
-
1. Frawley 2. Sylvia 3. Jamar 4. Meesen 5. Davey
-
The biggest shame out of this is that Paul Johnson is going to get another game for Melbourne on the back of pretty uninspiring performances at Casey, simply because Jamar is injured. Grimes being listed as having a back problem is worrying too. Hopefully we just rest him for a week or two and it's nothing serious. But I really was hoping he'd keep playing this year to build up fitness and confidence at AFL level.
-
1. Grimes 2. Garland 3. Jurrah 4. Blease 5. Watts Morton, Bennell, Moloney, Frawley, Warnock make up the next 5.
-
Agree. I think too many people here rip into Joeboy just because they don't agree with one of his statements. The point is to create discussion, not for Joeboy (or anyone else) to tell everyone how to perceive a player.
