  1. Agree. Which is sad because a lot of people on here have been saying 'Can't wait till Jamar's back'. The media trumpets him as being our 'no. 1 ruck', which makes him sound a lot better than he actually is. Meesen hopefully will be right for next year. IMO he's done more than enough to take Jamar's spot on the list. It would be nice, wouldn't it.
  2. Well, when I said I thought Warnock had a bad game, you told me that I needed to try to learn more about the game before I commented. That's condescending petjud. I agree with some of what you say, like the Maric stuff. But when people disagree with you, it would be nice if you presented your side of the argument without resorting to claiming that they are stupid, lacking knowledge, hiding behind their username etc. If you could just bring up your points and have a discussion, it would be much nicer.
  3. Fair enough. I must admit, I was swayed by seeing him against Coburg. The Casey bye this week makes these decisions quite interesting.
  4. Yes, definitely too soft. In regards to the trumpeter, am I the only one who thinks the effect is lost when he starts playing at the same time as the (albeit soft) song comes on over the speakers as the team runs out? I would much prefer him to do it when there's no other noise, so that everyone can hear him.
  5. Not sure about that Hannabal. Hasn't really done a lot at Casey level to suggest he's pressing for AFL selection as yet. I reckon he's another week or two away.
  6. Ah, whoops. Pinned up the top. Sorry. 6 - Frawley 5 - Davey 4 - Robertson 3 - Jones 2 - Morton 1 - Bartram
  7. What?!? I thought it was bad enough that they would cut to an ad break after first replaying the goal (which could take 30-60 seconds). Channel Seven are absolutely pathetic. They turn a 2.5 hour match into a 3 hour affair, full of ads and pathetic half-time interviews. All just to make sure that people don't turn off before the news comes on. Add to that their crap commentary team, and they become the worst football broadcasters ever.
  8. I did like it when he provided an option further up the ground. But I thought Warnock was on Mooney in the first half, which was when Mooney looked more dangerous. Anyway, Warnock's certainly not at the top of Melbourne's problems at the moment. You know, you could make your point a lot neater if you weren't so condescending. Look at Trident for example. Same problem, but he at least didn't resort to insulting. It was just my opinion.
  9. I like the sound of this: Jordie McKenzie – Jordie was fantastic. He was in our top three players on the day. Week after week now, he's starting to show his run and ability. He's also clean with the ball and is able to find teammates from clearances. Obviously too early, but maybe we've got something here?
  10. Bruce is becoming a player you just don't want to see have the ball. He does a lot of good things, but undoes basically all of it with his poor kicking. I hope someone at the club tries to help him fix his ball-drop, because it's killing him at the moment.
  11. Superb post, save for this. Bate didn't get the ball because he didn't work hard enough, he was too slow to make some contests, and Geelong filled the gaps in front of him. And he isn't that good overhead. The rest of what you said was good.
  12. McNamara can have Bate's spot. In: McNamara, Cheney, (Whelan) Out: Dunn, Bate, (Bennell) Let's get rid of some of that dead wood and bring in some youth. Cheney did little wrong in his 2 matches this year. I really liked the look of McNamara on Saturday. I'd consider swapping Bennell for Whelan, but I'm not sure about Whelan's fitness. PJ is lucky there's no one else in our ruck stocks. Newton needs another good performance at Casey before we hand him yet another chance. West Coast don't have many tall forwards, so Martin could get another run in the forward line (even though he didn't convince me yesterday).
  13. We're in with a small chance, especially if Kerr's out. But we suck at travel and West Coast's been pretty good at home so far this year.
  14. Bartram - much better performance Bate - useless yet again Bennell - showed some glimpses Bruce - really poor kicking Davey - continues to impress Dunn - another crap performance Frawley - another good game Johnson - not that great Jones - he's been worse Maric - a huge disappointment McDonald - not our worst Martin - better down back McLean - far too slow Meesen - better than Johnson Miller - must do more Moloney - an average game Morton - a better performance Petterd - not a forward Rivers - his worst effort? Robertson - a good return Sylvia - not enough again Warnock - got beaten often Am I the only person who thought Warnock had a poor game? Mooney seemed to take a lot of marks and beat Warnock one on one a lot. Yes, the supply was good and plentiful, but I think Warnock's played a lot better this year than what he played yesterday. Completely agree. Bruce is rapidly declining IMO. Maric shouldn't play that bad again (let's hope). And Dunn, well, he just shouldn't be playing.
  15. His ideal position is half forward. But he is playing shockingly at the moment, is just not having any influence, and at times looks more like a liability to the team than a weapon. Must be in danger of being dropped this week.
  16. Like most have said, it's only his 6th game. He didn't look lost, he just rushed each and every one of his disposals. No doubt he put in an absoute shocker, but this is a classic knee-jerk reaction.
  17. I'd be happy with 1 win and no losses above 60.
  18. We might not get a choice, considering he's still got school commitments. Of course it would be better money-wise if he made his debut at a home game at the G, but I don't want us manipulating everything to make it happen if it would be much easier just to let him debut at a different ground.
  19. I would prefer Watts to debut when he's ready, not when we're ready. If that means he debuts in Round 16 at Geelong, then so be it.
  20. I wouldn't worry. West Coast will win a lot more than 4 games this year (well, maybe 7-9).
  21. McNamara looked good to me. Fast for someone his height. We'll be seeing him sooner rather than later I think. Agree mo. There was one passage in the last quarter when he took off from a stoppage in the middle with pace, and the others were flat on their feet. He's much fitter than most players at VFL level, and he works much harder too. I liked what I saw of Valenti today, and I haven't been that big a fan of him. For mine, the best of the Melbourne players were Whelan, Newton and Valenti. McNamara, Hughes and Cheney were also good. Wonnaeamirri did a lot of good things as a defensive forward, including some super tackles, but hardly got a possession. Hardly noticed Grimes all day. Forgot he was playing even. Didn't see a lot of Bail, but he looks alright when he gets it. Same as Bell (who also laid some good tackles). Jordie McKenzie is very slight, but did some good things.
  22. Good changes IMO. That was what most expected. Kyle Cheney is still pretty unlucky to not be playing, given his efforts in the first 2 matches. But he'll get another chance sooner or later.
  23. Davis to me is a little slower (not much) and a little stronger overhead. But swap Davis for Davey and there wouldn't be much of a difference at all.
