  1. If he plays next year like he has over the past month, that'll be good. But if he plays like he did early on this season, that'll be bad.
  2. What a fail of a day for Whelan. I'm gutted. Really, really want him to get up for next week. Start him on the bench, let him run on and smash Raph Clarke or someone like that.
  3. Very harsh here. Bate was pretty good. Played midfield more than forward, when he really should be spending more time at HF. Thought Frawley was very good on Fev. Most of Fev's good stuff came when McNamara was on him.
  4. The countdown is pathetic. This is such a waste of time and resources.
  5. 6 - Sylvia 5 - Frawley 4 - Jetta 3 - Jamar 2 - Robertson 1 - Morton I thought Frawley was outstanding. Owned Fevola in almost every contest. Fev had his kicking boots on, which made him look better than he actually was.
  6. We're now playing Spencer, Jamar, Johnson and Martin all at once. Good chance to assess our ruck stocks I guess.
  7. Late change: Jamar in, Jones out.
  8. Not sure about top 50, but I feel he is severely underrated, especially by Demonlanders. Has really improved this year, and, in a good team, as Garry said, would be even better.
  9. Geelong is gone. Can't, and won't, win the premiership, and will go down with Essendon of 1999-2001 as one of the biggest underachieving teams of all time. Collingwood and St Kilda are still front-runners, but maybe Aker was right about the Dogs, that they've tailored their training to peak for the finals. I sure hope so. I'd love the Dogs to knock Collingwood out of the finals.
  10. Now, where have I heard that before? Newton? Bartram? Dunn? Bell? Miller?
  11. As per basically every year, the chances of those players actually slipping through to the PSD is negligible. I think Nick Stevens is probably the only player of any merit that has made it to the PSD of recent times (prove me wrong someone).
  12. I can't wait to see what this guy can do once he's had a pre-season, and once the rest of the team starts playing half-decent football. Already, with minimal fitness and pretty mediocre supply and support, he's kicking goals, taking marks, creating general excitement, and, overall, actually being a forward.
  13. 29,557 Low crowd due to the fact that everyone knows what the result is going to be already. Plus it's at Etihad, which means very, very, very few Melbourne supporters will turn up.
  14. In all fairness, Dunn's past month has been good, and he didn't deserve to be dropped. Could be considered a tanking move, but he should have played. It wouldn't make a difference. The three dropped players' futures are very shaky.
  15. Here are the key dates: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...25/default.aspx Trade week: Monday 5 October - Friday 9 October (2pm deadline) National Draft: Saturday 28 November Pre-season and Rookie drafts: Tuesday, December 15
  16. Yes, but that would mean that Carlton could get him by giving up their first round pick. The last bid goes to the club with f/s rights to the kid, and they only have to match the highest round that has been previously offered by other clubs. Of course, none of this will eventuate because this is a stupid, baseless rumour that has no merit whatsoever. I hope.
  17. A bit surprised to see Miller go before Martin. We all know that Martin has a much brighter future than Miller, but on last week's performance, Miller was streets ahead. If Martin isn't injured, then that makes me disappointed in Martin's game last week. I thought Miller did enough to retain his spot. Guess not.
  18. Well I have to say I did not see this coming. And I'm a little surprised to see the club is happy to extend his contract, given they've just sacked Robertson. Whelan, Wheatley, Robertson make three spots available. Given that Dunn and Bartram were dropped this week, maybe they're on the chopping block.
  19. We need to be careful here. If Jamar does want to go, then we have to make sure we're adequately compensated. Ruckmen don't fall off trees. Especially not ruckmen who've had years of patience and development put into them. If we trade, we need to get something decent.
  20. That was about the only thing he did all game. I like him, and I think he's going to be a good player for us, but I'd prefer Whelan to get his 150, and Jetta is the most likely candidate to be dropped. That tackle does go to show that Jetta's workrate is phenomenal. He always chases, always puts himself in the contest, always runs himself to exhaustion. Good qualities.
  21. I'd say Scully, basing it on the way Rich has dominated this year and is an absolute shoo-in. But really, I feel that any of those guys could win it. Which bodes well for the future.
  22. Robbo's on 3AW right now. Says that it's disappointing that the game has been modified to become faster, placing an emphasis on holding possession, which has led to speccies becoming rarer. Also says he'll miss the feeling of walking off the ground having won. Especially singing the song. Wants to move into the media, possibly radio. Wants to bring the 'fun back to football', doesn't like the current scrutiny on players.
  23. I believe Richmond and Collingwood went 40 rounds up until last week's clash. Not sure though.
  24. Poor comparison. Newton has had more time, and shown less, than Martin, whose upside is enormous and visible. He can play back, forward, or ruck. Newton can't even play one position with competence. I think Martin might be injured.
  25. In: Whelan, Spencer/Jamar Out: Jetta, Martin
