  1. What?! According to this, it's better to be uncomfortable in bed, as opposed to not.
  2. Sorry mate, guess that was my fault. Your joke was gold. At least some of us got to witness it.
  3. They're not mutually exclusive. We can simultaneously work on removing the bigger problems (whatever you think they are) whilst noting that we have things to be happy with. I should clarify: to a normal human, they aren't mutually exclusive. To a dim-witted pessimist like you, they probably are.
  4. Why are you even surprised? How often do you think stars come on down and chat to the 16th side in the competition? We have to work to impress them, they have no obligation to talk to us, so the fact that they're not talking is not really that surprising. Nonetheless, we have the money and some persuasive people (we wouldn't have gotten Clark without those two factors), so we're not completely hopeless. At any rate, that is nothing more than an unsubstantiated rumour. It may well be true, but it's not reason to give up.
  5. Bennell is gone. Strauss hasn't shown me anything, pre-leg break or post, to suggest he should still be on the list, but the broken leg may get him a sympathy contract. Jetta I rate. Didn't get consistent opportunities under Bailey, but I've seen merit in him. Tapscott is fine, I think with more game time and with Neeld settling him into a position (HFF is my preference) he can develop. PS: Agree completely about Watts, Trengove and McKenzie
  6. Wrist slasher. You, and those who take similar views, essentially choose to dwell on the negatives and the bad things that have befallen our club. No one disagrees with you when you note that we've been rubbish since 2007. No one disagrees with you when you say we've had a god-awful 2012, and no one disagrees with you when you say we've got a lot of work to do. That is all fine. But instead of harping on about the bad things, think about the good ones, and about how there are things we can look at and be happy about. We can only control what happens from here, not what's now in the past, so instead of whinging about our poor record since 2007, let's be positive and look at how to improve it going forward. And that starts with looking at what we have going for us now, and building on it.
  7. LOL at how you think you are in a position to tell people when their posts make no sense...
  8. OK, great, finally got it out of you. You therefore agree that there are positives at the club and coming out of 2012. There's also nothing wrong with looking at the 'top layer'. That 'top layer' is what's going to drive us through the next few years, and we need to build around it. Clearly we have a small top layer and no depth at the moment, so what we need to do is get rid of the deadwood around the edges and focus on adding to our list to support our core.
  9. So you disagree with what I said about Clarke, Howe, Jones, McDonald etc.?
  10. So you disagree about Clark? You don't think Howe is a promising footballer? That Jones showed marked improvement? Or Tom McDonald? Ah yes, that ought to do it. Let's all take our eggs and go throw them at the club. That really will make everything right again.
  11. Agree. Under-rated area of improvement, this. We've gone most of the year with not only no ruckman, but no resting ruckman. With Jamar and Gawn next year, we'll have both. Immediate improvement in clearances, and someone to take a tall defender. If we can bring in an established mid to assist Jones, McKenzie, Trengove and Grimes, that will help too, with a ruckman working for them. Another pre-season for Nicholson helps him develop his speed and spread off half-back, which will also help. Frawley can only get better, and McDonald can only get stronger, which makes our FB/CHB combo improve. Up forward, Howe can spend 3 months in remedial set shot goal kicking class, Clark will be back hungrier than ever, the resting ruckman takes the heat off, and we should be going after someone from another club who can help out (not entirely sure who is available or any good, but there will surely be someone). Fitzpatrick may even be a new forward for us, based on the last few weeks at MFC/Casey. Removing Bennell, Morton, Dunn, Bate, MacDonald, Moloney and one or two more list-cloggers means more games for Tapscott, Tynan, Gysberts and Taggert.
  12. Not entirely sure how playing in WA highlights that more, but yes, his kicking is woeful. So is Tom McDonald's, but he's not going anywhere. So is Jack Grimes, and of course he's not going anywhere. My point is that Bail has a lot of company when it comes to poor kicks. He still offers us run and spread, which we need, and enthusiasm, aggression and commitment, which we also lack. It's utterly baffling how much crap Bail cops when players like Dunn are commended for doing probably less.
  13. You're unbelievable. The OP tried to point out some of the positives. No one is saying we've had a good year, we've had a terrible year. But there is nothing at all wrong, and a lot of things right, about trying to look for the things that have gone right this year. Similarly to the way no one would say we've been any good this year, no one would deny that Mitch Clark was an absolute star before getting injured. See? A positive. Amazing, right?
  14. Good post. Another good post. Glorious. You really are senile.
  15. Try putting those players in our shambles of a side. Highly doubt they'd be anywhere near as effective as they are at Geelong. As for Geelong, they're in form it seems, but they'll have to knock off Adelaide or Sydney interstate, with supposedly any final played in Week 2 in Sydney at the SCG. I'd be backing both the interstate clubs to beat Geelong at their home ground. If Sydney loses to Adelaide, then it'll be Hawthorn v Collingwood for the GF. If Sydney beats Adelaide, may well be Hawthorn v Sydney.
  16. I don't have the stats, but I'm guessing a similar situation exists with most non-WA clubs in WA games. It's frustrating. That crowd really seems to be able to get a sway over the umpires over there. I remember Brad Scott saying they're a vicious mob.
  17. Pretty much sums up how I feel. I'm rather glad the fringe players were bad. It helps to dispel the myths abounding their ability to make AFL standard.
  18. I love how people will whinge about Bail for being given a new role which he at times struggles with but at times does well in, because he struggles to be consistent and hasn't improved. Sounds like almost every damn player on our list.
  19. Brilliant. And people say Dunn is tough. Please let him be delisted.
  20. Rule 15.6.1© - A Free Kick shall be awarded against a Player who intentionally kicks, handballs or forces the football over the boundary line without the football being touched by another player. So it all comes down to what the umpire determines to be 'intentional'.
  21. Anyone who continues to whinge about this - GTFO. Range Rover can start. Go away. You clog up this forum with ridiculous threads, polls and posts. So sick of reading your drivel.
  22. Sounds like we're ending the season like we started it: embarrassingly uncompetitive. I haven't seen a single second, and I propose to keep it that way, but I hope our so-called 'depth players' put in shockers to seal their fates. We don't have 'depth players', we have a bevy of has-been or will-not-be list-cloggers.
  23. And your basis for this comment is? You're yet to recognise your blunder with the poll, either.
  24. If by 'a classic' you mean 'a much smarter person than me', then yes, I am 'a classic'.
  25. Crap thread. Watts' 2012 has been much better than his 2011. It's also been much better than a lot of other MFC players' 2012s. No excusing yesterday, he was terrible. But to ask him to be at the top of his game week in, week out, when no one else is, is a bit unfair. He was given tasks he clearly isn't capable of (Frawley's brainfades meant Watts was continually required to mop up his problems). This year, on the whole, he's shown improvement in both skill, strength and courage. I see only upside in Watts, as opposed to about 15 other MFC players. Is he going to be a CHF/FF? No. Does that matter? No.
