On the run, Bugg kicked it to him, it got spoiled but he kept his feet and snapped under some pressure. Difficult shot under the circumstances.

Holy hell what a game that was. Thought Stretch might have got a free for front on contact at the end there but what an effort from the boys. Just unbelievable.
-
Wasn't going to visit the gameday thread, but gee, that second quarter was alright...
-
Nice to see that you're wrong, again, picket. Well done.

1-0 Melbourne. Ring the siren now!
-
You had every right to though mate, but I understand. The game day thread can make things 10 times worse when we're not playing well. Even if we lose today I reckon I'll handle it much better without it being shoved down my throat on here.
-
Now Ethan... that's just being silly...

I think you need to go back to uni as your comprehension skills need a little a little extra work. This thread is here for normal discussion, I just suggested having another that focused on some positive discussion so you don't need to sift through the other stuff. I'm not trying to silence anyone, far from it, just thought an extra alternative to this thread might suit a few posters. If it doesn't then that's fine.

Lloyd goes 'whack' - Melbourne a club in search of a heart
Wiseblood replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Never said that Stuie. Just said he doesn't mind getting stuck in when the opportunity arises. -
I suggested 2 threads, the normal one and the other one I mentioned. I'm not trying to change anything for anyone, just adding another thread. If it's rubbish or not do-able then it doesn't happen, no drama for me. If North kick a couple of goals in a row, and there is a turnover or two in there, it's like sifting through a sewer of garbage to get to anything decent. But again, it's only a small suggestion. I'll live if it doesn't happen and no-one else is interested.

Lloyd goes 'whack' - Melbourne a club in search of a heart

Never said he wasn't. I bet you loved it though. A bit of extra negativity to kick off your morning big fella. Glad you enjoyed it. -
Nice idea Jako and Skuit. I don't want to stop anyone from venting their frustration as everyone is entitled to it, but it gets monotonous when we make a turnover and you need to sift through a page of people posting the same stuff over and over again. Being able to go into another thread just dedicated to some of the good plays during the day, or looking at the positives, would be a welcome change. It's just an idea though.

This. Yeah, it's accurate, but it's nothing we don't know. Lloyd has latched on to us this year and doesn't mind giving us a pop. -
Will be steering clear of this thread during the game. Had enough of the usual crud that fills it up over the course of a few hours. I think it will raise my enjoyment of the game and lower the annoyance levels in a big way. I think we'll have a fair dinkum crack today but ultimately fall short. Their tall forwards worry me. Edit - I think we need 2 game day threads; the usual one and one where only positive comments are welcome. If someone does something terrific then jump in their and post. It may have way less than the main game day thread but it might lighten the mood and cancel out the negativity.

No, it was Tim Smith.

Absolutely, and while it's against poor opposition, it does put pressure on the boys playing tomorrow. Plenty waiting in the wings to take their spot if they don't perform.
-
Show a bit more commitment mate - surely you can write it up on your phone with one hand while driving with the other! Priorities!

No good about Trengove, although it could be worse. Might set his return back a week. Horrible news for one of the King boys as well, never like to hear about that. Outside of the injuries, does anyone have a score or a few stats?

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 3, 2016
Wiseblood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry mate, I mis-read it! But yes, I agree. A one week response is good but meaningless if we can't back it up. With the way Richmond and Collingwood are playing you would think we are right in the hunt in those games. If we can get the confidence back up slightly then we have the opportunity to back it up in the weeks to come. -
MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 3, 2016
Wiseblood replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not in the "we will win" camp, but I'm just intrigued by how we come out and respond. True. Can we come out tomorrow and sustain it, or do we come out for 15 minutes, miss a few shots on goal, make a few little mistakes and drop our heads? I think we match up relatively well against North, and if the conditions are poor then we have enough inside midfielders and smaller types to keep us in the game, but if we play into their hands they'll pull our pants down with ease. -
MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 3, 2016

I might be a sucker for punishment, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game. Not because I think we'll win, but because I'm interested to see what our response as a playing group is. I might regret watching the game 15 minutes in when Boomer has kicked their fifth and made me angry, but can the boys stand up and turn it around? -
And it's great to see Richmond getting smashed as well. Many said it last week, but why the media creams their pants over them at the start of every season is beyond me. They've been average for 5 years.

Hey DSP - you're welcome to your opinion any time you like mate. This is a discussion forum after all. Don't worry about the hypocrites.
-
You told him he should stop posting if he didn't like it. That's the very definition of telling someone that they aren't entitled to their opinion because you believe he is whinging. What he posted was his opinion and, last time I checked, it's not your job to tell him that he shouldn't post because of it. You're the very definition of a hypocritical poster.
