  1. When you've got certain posters smashing players week in, week out, it means that others will start to simply focus on the mistakes and the negatives and not look for the positives. Tom makes mistakes but he also does some terrific things in our backline. However, that gets glossed over while his mistakes are magnified.
  2. Very much a heartbreaking loss. No doubt about it. I think the match winners are, potentially, there with more game time. Petracca does some fantastic things. Viney never gives in. Gus is playing his best footy of the year, and we are a better side with him there. We know Hogan can kick multiple goals and, like the others, as he gets older he will know how to do it more often. It's a hard pill to swallow, but it's fact.
  3. For all of their wonderful pressure, you could still argue that the mids probably didn't use the ball as well as they could have during the game. Doesn't excuse the forwards but I think it was a combination of both.
  4. Holy hell am I glad I've got this peanut on ignore. Makes a rubbish thread every week.
  5. Yeah, I don't disagree with that mate. There were times where Oscar was easily done in that one on one situation and we still make some mistakes that hurt. I like where we are heading, but it can be a tough pill to swallow sometimes.
  6. The back six by itself might not have done a stellar job, but our defensive pressure as a whole was outstanding. They still scored from less than half of their entries which, when you consider who plays down there, is not a bad effort. Makes things much easier when our midfield runs themselves into the ground like that to provide the pressure.
  7. You're right WJ. Today hurts and it will be hard for some to see, but with more games we will take those chances today.
  8. Well, what could have been? Had we kicked straight, we win the game. We played dirty football at times, scintillating football at other times and we still made some glaring mistakes that we need to fix up if we are to head up the ladder again in 2017. Our midfield was awesome and we smashed them in there. We took it up to them, tackled hard, pressured hard... and couldn't get it done on the scoreboard. Those missed shots in the third hurt us as we could have been at least 3-4 goals up and broken their backs. We deserved to win today so it hurts, but gee we've improved. If we can be consistent with this effort then we win more games. Simple. Special mention to Nathan Jones - he can most certainly have the captaincy back now.
  9. Speaking of an ordinary kick, what was Brayshaw doing?
  10. I fear you might be right bing - those 5 minutes where Kennedy and Lycett took a few marks wasn't pretty to watch. To the boys credit they didn't let it happen again, but there is still two quarters of footy left to be played. If our work rate stays as it is then we will win.
  11. Look, we missed a few chances, but gee we are playing so much better than them. They are a bunch of pretenders and we are giving them a slap at the minute, it's just a shame we haven't put that on the scoreboard. Can we keep it up? It's 50/50 for me. If we can kick a few early ones then the confidence might skyrocket.
  12. Wonderful tackle from Frost and a ripper kick from Trac! Great work boys!
  13. I agree with those who say we haven't gotten maximum reward for our effort - it would be terrific to be a few goals up. Big term coming up, must back it up.
  14. Never said quality. Said okay. Anyone would think we're behind by 10 goals going by this thread.
  15. Seriously, this thread is a disgrace. To those using this as their updates because they can't watch - both sides are over using it, both sides have dropped marks because of the rain and both sides have kicked a couple. If we make ONE mistake on here 15 posters go ape. Just settle.
  16. I must be the only person who thinks we're playing okay. We are in front after all.
  17. T Mac on Kennedy, O Mac on Darling but they switch a bit with Frost as well. Mackenzie looks to be on Hogan, not sure with Watts as yet.
  18. Nathan Jones has started very well. Can we give him back the captaincy?
  19. He won't. Good goal from Jeffy. We are certainly having a dip.
  20. I wouldn't say pathetic, just haven't played smart footy. We did well against the Hawks, but struggled against the Swans. Hopefully with a few wet games under our belt we will have learned from our mistakes (ie - kicking it forward as often as we can as opposed to handballing)
  21. No changes to either side mate. Looks like it's wet and windy conditions there today as well.
