  1. Goodwin: "They seem to be functioning well together," Goodwin said. "They can all play deep and they can all play up the ground. "I think that gives us flexibility in terms of how we want to structure up our forward line and flexibility in who we use in the ruck. That's a fair indication that Weideman 'aint getting dropped.
  2. It's not. He's been against the bloke from the moment he arrived. And there are differences in waiting to see more and writing a player off. Go and look at his history on Weideman. He isn't interested in seeing more, he's just interested in seeing the bloke fail.
  3. No, he's not, but I'll be banging my head against the wall on this one so I'll leave it there. Your utter hatred and barracking for his demise is not a good look for you, OD.
  4. You are almost actively campaigning for this bloke to fail just so you can crow about how you were right. It's little off, OD. The bloke has played in our 3 straight wins and has allowed us to play with greater flexibility with Hogan and T Mac. We can use them deep forward and through the midfield, and we aren't asking T Mac to ruck. Weid may not get a heap of it but his presence in the side has been crucial. I reckon Tyson and ANB (even after a better game) would be looking over their shoulder with Viney about to return.
  5. No, we shouldn't keep anything in context after a 69 point win. Leave that for another day and enjoy the victory.
  6. Did we win? Tick Did we win away from home? Tick Did we win by more than 10 goals? Tick Is every Demon fan acting like a 5 year old on Xmas morning after watching us kick 21 goals? Tick Just got home and I can't wait to watch the replay! DEMONS!!!
  7. I'm out all day so I'll be keeping tabs on my phone. As I can't discuss the game with all you wonderful* people, I'll leave you with these: - A 5 goal win is fine. In fact, ANY win on the road is fine. - Dom Tyson is the best disposer of the football in the AFL and will hit target after target today. - Don't [censored] your pants when Gold Coast kick the first and then refer to the lead up play as 'reminding you of the Mark Neeld days' - ANB should be a long distance runner at the next Olympic Games. - Dees to win... by 5 goals... *Most of you are wonderful...
  8. To be fair Nash, even as a perennial optimist, I'm failing to see what ANB is bringing to the side at the minute. Obviously it's something, as Goodwin is keeping him in the side, but hanging our hats on the fact he runs up and down the field heaps during a game doesn't make for a compelling argument. I understand why they dropped Hunt - it's a like for like move with Salem - and there is no need to break up a winning side that has done really well over the last fortnight, but he's on thin ice with Viney waiting in the wings you would think.
  9. You would think that's on the cards. ANB would probably know it as well, so hopefully they pressure of Viney's return can bring out an improved performance for the side this weekend. Happy with the change. I know some will think ANB is lucky to survive, and you could argue that he is, but Salem for Hunt is a like for like change so it works for me.
  10. You would assume that we will make minimal changes, especially with Viney returning through the VFL. Salem will come in to the side you would think, but not sure who for. As with any game this season, the Suns aren't to be taken lightly. They've proven this season that if you give them a sniff then they'll be right in the contest. However, with their best forward out and a relatively average midfield, we should have no problems in accounting for them on the day. I'd take a good 5-6 goal win, but any win away from home is a good thing, so I'll be pretty content to come back home with the 4 points and our 3rd win on the trot.
  11. Everything he's done for the club has been brilliant. We are in a terrific position off field thanks largely to PJ and his ability to work in tandem with the senior coach and the board, something we weren't able to do for a very long time. But all good things must come to an end at some stage, and his willingness to stay in some capacity in 2019 to assist the new CEO in the transition just goes to show what a professional and committed CEO he has been for the club. Enjoy a well earned retirement PJ, your contribution to the club will never be forgotten.
  12. I've heard he wants nothing more than to stay a Demon and will sign a contract sooner rather than later.
  13. Hogan has been cleared by the MRP. Christian determined there was contact to the throat and, therefore, the reaction was not exaggerated. Common sense prevails for once!
  14. He actually staggers a bit a falls back. He goes down from surprise more than anything.
  15. I love it when we draw long bows on this site. Ump paid a free kick instantly, meaning he was hit high. He didn't fake it in a pack or just fall over. Carlisle jabbed him in the throat and he fell. Nothing more than that.
  16. Umpire signalled at the time Hogan got hit in the throat, which is high. Hogan fell over, got the free and everyone is saying he overplayed it and dived. My point was that, if anything against Hogan is to occur in regards to his supposed dive, it will be small fine, not a suspension as another poster suggested.
  17. I'll be interested to see what happens with this - the umpire was on the right side of the contest and paid a free kick instantly, so he must have hit him high. He might have played it up a little but I doubt he'll get anything more than a fine for it.
  18. Every time Weid clunks a mark, or jags a goal, his confidence lifts a little. He is holding his own during his small stints in the ruck, and he took his chances today when they were presented to him. Of course we would like him to do more, but right now he is playing his role nicely within the side. There is no reason to drop him at this point as he's working really well in tandem with both Hogan and T Mac. Nice job on the 3 word analysis as well, joeboy.
  19. His set shot kicking for goal is bordering on the awful at the moment. His field kicking is generally very good though, he was a little off today.
