  1. The battle between our forwards and their backline will go a long way to deciding the outcome of this game. They have one of the best back six in the game, one that is highly discipline, good in one on one situations and they can also generate turnovers and plenty of run from half back. On the flip side, our forward line is in peak form at the moment with our ability to generate inside 50's, keep the ball in there and apply pressure that creates turnovers for us. This may change slightly with T Mac potentially missing the game, but I still believe we can easily kick a winning score without him. Use the ball well going forward and sticking to our structures, while not allowing them to run the ball out easily, will put us in a great position to win the game. We're fit, we're in form and I see no reason why this can't continue on Sunday afternoon.
  2. If you were playing a drinking game around how many times they mention De Goey and his 'form', you would already be legless.
  3. My aunty is proficient in MS Paint so I reckon we're a chance!
  4. So if my Aunt designs next weeks Guernsey then I'm an automatic inclusion in the forward pocket? Don't be silly, BBP. We play to win, not for sentimentality.
  5. Sensible move from the club. No need to change a 109 point winning side. Obviously Tommy Mac is no certainty but hopefully he gets up!
  6. Get a few of those from Trevor Marmalade's All-Star team from the early 90's, Colin?
  7. He did that in the AFL side anyway. He had done pretty much all of the pre-season training before the injury struck so he still had the base fitness from that. You're just clutching at straws as you want to blame 'bad management', when it's clearly untrue.
  8. I'm going to repeat myself here, but why does Spargo need a rest? He's only played a month of AFL footy, has run out all the games he's played and had a positive impact. The FD might know better through the week with training and recovery, but as supporters I can't see how we can come to the conclusion that the bloke needs a rest.
  9. He referenced the 'medical staff' getting it right. If the bloke has an injury, he shouldn't be playing. That's if Deestar actually knows what he's talking about. My point re: it being on Jayden for being in the twos is still a valid point. It's also down to increased depth, but it's also on him as well.
  10. Temper my criticism? Care to enlighten us as to what this 'ailment' is? What I said is not criticism, it's fact. His form has been very average for a while now, which is why he is plying his trade at Casey. I'm not having a go, that's just the truth.
  11. You do realise the team you've quoted is one that he has 'made up' on the Monday, yeah?
  12. I'm a Hunt fan but it's his fault that he's rotting in the two's. He has been average at best since midway through last season.
  13. I'll be disappointed if Spargo gets dropped. Has shown no signs of needing a rest.
  14. A crunching tackle from one J. Viney inside the first minute of the game, and then seeing him test his hamstring out as he tries to chase Nate Jones as he breaks away from a pack will be a nice welcome back I'd say.
  15. No change will be the way we go I'd say. If for some reason Tommy Mac fails to get up, and it sounds like the prognosis is better tonight than it was earlier in the day, then it'd Pedo in for him.
  16. Apparently, according to one track watcher, the moment there is a niggle you're training in the rehab group. Don't tell me this track watcher, who is never wrong, is actually wrong....?
  17. We struggled to kick them against the Hawks in the wet, and then against the best defence in the league in Richmond. In our first 3 games we still had 29, 30 and 33 scoring shots, so it wasn't really an issue. The issues was more around our structure. We went with Hogan and lots of smalls, but now we're essentially playing three rotating talls with Gawn having a rest down there as well. It works really well and has allowed us to play great footy. Tom will be a big loss, but now that we've sorted out the structure of how we play I'm more confident that we have the capacity to cover him for any length of time.
  18. It's an interesting point BBP, as now that we've found a structure that works, we should be able to cover him well enough that we still win the game we should be winning. Pedersen isn't a world beater, but he has the tank to get himself up the ground and have stints in the ruck. Same goes for both Hogan and Tim Smith - they have the capacity to play Tom's role and therefore we keep the structure of the side intact. Obviously, Tom is in ripping form and we're not the same side without him, but I believe that now we have a good structure in place that we can push on in a positive direction if we don't have him in the side.
  19. Goodwin on T Mac: A small precaution to take him off the track. Should be right for the weekend. As it stands today, he'll play on Sunday. Sounds promising but I think the next few days will be telling in regards to how his foot feels.
  20. Goodwin's media conference is coming up in a minute so I'm sure we'll hear more about it. Could just be precautionary.
  21. To add to this, and some mentioned it earlier, he has already played some rep footy during his junior years so he isn't coming from a long way back. He will know what he is doing pretty quickly. The beauty is that, at 17, time is also on his side and he can develop his craft at Casey without being thrown to the wolves too soon. With Gawny taking him under his wing he has a good chance of developing into a player for us. And we got him for nothing. Gold.
  22. It's something we haven't display in years, ET - maturity.
