  1. A 204cm ruckman will replace Jordan Lewis, a short half back flanker? Yeah, nah.
  2. Can you squeeze him into a possible 2022 team for us?
  3. Can only be seen as a positive thing, especially with the moderate success we've had in adding Maynard and Joel Smith to the list, players who many not be best 22 but are excellent depth players. Getting Austin Bradtke on the list will cost us nothing, and he's a tall player who could develop under the guidance of Max at Casey for a few years.
  4. Why would we give Weid away, who is under contract, for a 28 year old? Nothing 'simplez' about it. It's silly.
  5. Can't argue that they're missing some very good players. Also can't argue that they have some of the best depth in the competition and are coming off playing in a Grand Final last season. So while it won't be our biggest 'test' for the season, we aren't exactly playing a rubbish side here. If we win this game then I'll take it as a fair sign that we have more than improved on our output from 2017. Being 7-3 after 10 rounds will be proof enough of that.
  6. I'm not. His form this season has been putrid.
  7. I'm going by gut feel here, but I'm inclined to believe Mahoney gets the job. In fact, I reckon he would be an odds on favourite. He is highly regarded in the AFL industry and if PJ believes he is the man from the job then I would have no worries at all about his selection.
  8. There is no room for him now. 4 years ago, when we last chased him, he would have been a superb pick up for us. Roosy was very keen and he would've added some real class to our forward line. Now, we have no need for him in our side. With the players you mentioned above, plus Gawn resting there, 'Bull' Smith doing well and our plethora of medium forwards, there is no reason to chase him now.
  9. We have absolutely no need for Tom Lynch.
  10. I'm not surprised. Got a hypothetical trade for us, norm?
  11. As for the changes re: Adelaide - an 80% fit Matt Crouch with hamstring trouble doesn't worry me too much. Our midfield is fit and firing and I have every confidence that we can run over the top of them. Their backline is pretty well drilled and one of the better ones we've faced in the last month, so we'll need to be on our game in terms of how we use the ball forward of the centre. Other than that we should have them covered!
  12. It's ridiculous, ET. Someone even suggested playing him because a family member designed the guernsey. If Garlett does play on the weekend then it's because he deserved a run, no other reason. If he doesn't play then clearly the FD are going for the win, not sentimentality.
  13. Yep, this is spot on. In his last year at Essendon he played across half back and we recruited him with this in mind. It didn't work out and we made the change for the better. Saty won't admit he's wrong though, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
  14. Not worried about this in the slightest. Same goes for Brayshaw and Oscar - all the dialogue has been that their manager and the club are in constant discussions about new deals and it's just ironing out a few of the finer points before it's all done. There is no 'putting it off till the end of the year' stuff. I reckon these guys will be signed, sealed and delivered by the end of June at the latest.
  15. I came in with low expectations and I was still disappointed.
  16. It still makes no sense. His form hasn't been great at Casey while those who play in his position in our side have been excellent. Why change it just because it's indigenous round? That sends the wrong message to the playing group. You play on merit, no matter what the round is.
  17. We shouldn't be rewarding players because it's indigenous round. We should be going in with our strongest side at every opportunity. We just won by 109 points and, unless someone is injured, then we stick with the same side and reward them for that performance.
  18. The 'Round 9 - All the goals' video should run about 15 minutes this week. That's if they put them all in this time around.
  19. What gives you this idea?
  20. Are we talking Liam or Nathan here? Think carefully about your answer.
  21. Most are spot on, although the comments on Spargo are way off the mark. Unless they want to rest him there is no chance he is getting dropped for Garlett. His footy smarts, toughness and pressure acts are invaluable at the moment.
  22. We have also now won the last 14 quarters of footy we've played in. Remarkable.
  23. Unless there is an injury then it's no change. These 22 players deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. Bernie has no case to answer. Got him up the middle and Thomas bounced straight up.
