I agree with this assessment....... Green has been far and away our best this year in nearly all facets including leadership and I would think (hope) that he has a bit of a cushion at the moment to the rest of the field. Wheatley and Bruce have also been good, and fairly consistent (ignoring their regular disposal butchery) and will obviously factor heavily. Unfortunately for McLean, he will lose out this season as much to injury as anything else, but even now I don't think he would be in front of Green. And I think that Miller will poll pretty well, top five IMO, plus I'm just wrapped he is now in peoples thinking !!!

Really well said Jaded....... Its amazing to actually see someone in this day and age put aside their partisan blinders to help out the opposition and thus help preserve the game. It is a genuinely wonderful thing to do, and a big thank you goes his way for doing it.
-
Ahh yes, its so nice to see their victim mentality is alive and well !!!
-
Now I realise we are all biased, but honestly that was ridiculous........
-
Thats us setting records where ever we go ....... Although this is nice positive one. Cheers YM!!!

Again I;m a little late t the party but for me...... 6. Brad Green (only just, if at all behind) 5. Brad Miller 4. Colin Sylvia 3. Chris Johnson 2. Matthew Whelan 1. any number of players but I will go with Cameron Bruce Apologies to Brock McLean, Mark Jamar, Paul Wheatley, Lynden Dunn, Matthew Bate, Paul Johnson and our entire defensive unit who I thought were not too bad, especially considering the collective scoring power and size of the opposition forwards.

A little late to the party but FWIW..... Brad Green © Brock McLean (vc) Brad Miller Nathan Jones Jared Rivers (if only he could get his body right)

I was horrified when I saw this this afternoon..... I am so sorry to him, his family and friends (and the footy community and fans generally). It is awful and shatteringly stark when real life accidents or tragedies occur to the people we see and cheer for on the field each week. It feels quite personal, as you can't help but feel like you know them. I wish and hope for the best possible outcome for Graham, which is obviously a full recovery.

The excitement of a 1 point win!!
QueenC replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thats great babe, but do you know the lotto numbers :D ?!!! -
So tell me were you being calculating and actually cheering for Brisbane at the end there? I understand what you are saying and where your coming from Occo because we all fear for the long term survival of our club, and for its future success, but pick one verses pick two this year isn't the whole battle. So seriously that is one of the most inane comments I have read in here and I have been around a while. Amen Hannabel, well said...... What we saw today was a look at our future, and after a win like that with guts and determination well and truly on display it starts to look that little bit brighter.

We can only hope......

Just had HD installed...... I'm very excited :D !!!

Amen sister..... And no you can say "I told you so" (although not to me, please!!!) all you want given the amount of crap that we have copped over the last couple of years (with some good reason at times but certainly not others) for actually having the audacity to stick up for a player who we believed had value to the side. I must admit to feeling a little smug as well !!!

I get the impression your very innocent little thread got hijacked bobby....... And thanks for asking the question, I would also love to order one of those books.
-
Oh my god hoodwinked, really some of us don't have any opinion of our own, or maybe that is because it doesn't agree with yours? Last time I checked I actually believe that I am allowed to think what I want Bobby. And I think that he being as "valuable" as he is he needs to improve the most basic fundamental in footy, something which he used to be far better and more effective at. His kicking (field and at goal) has gone downhill in recent years, and I am also not sold on his pure defensive skills either. We need him to be better (which we all know he can be) across the board, sorry. But then again take all this with a pinch of salt because I am apparently nothing but a weak minded little girl who is easily influenced by evil doers

Oh for gods sake can the attitude (and insults) would you...... But FWIW I believe that Bruce, given his status in the side, alleged leadership, and supposed skill level has been disappointing, and yes because of it he has been a liability. Players like him, with his status, need to be the ones that the others in the side can look to, but while he does get the ball, he has distinct problems getting it off to a teammate effectively, and if you don't think that makes him a liability then so be it, but to me his disposal is shaky and only getting worse. Was he the worst out there today? No, but he certainly isn't putting his best foot forward either.

Agree with both of these from YM...... And that's twice this week I have been on the same page with him, and that is genuinely scary !!!
-
Yep terrifying indeed ........ But that being said he is absolutely spot on!!!

They won't, at least not for a while yet....... I live in the north west of Sydney and while there has been some increased support over the last few years for the code in general, two teams is a ridiculous and fanciful dream that will never work without at least another decade of prep and leg work to make sure the area is ready for the invasion. As it stands right now Auskick numbers (across Sydney) are down, Swans ticketing is down, TV viewership is down, and that includes Swans games which are generally (and we love this) shown on two networks at the same time at the expense of other games, and we don't even get enough live games played on free to air TV, so I am not quite sure how without a miracle and a truck load of cash for twenty years from the AFL a second team up here would be viable. And I am not even factoring in the all out war that would occur with the NRL, and to a lesser extent Rugby Union. Western Sydney may one day be able to host a side, but it needs a hell of a lot more time to build up a supporter base for the entire code, and not just a flash in the pan blow in. But I am not sure Vlad has considered all of this, and if he has and you have to hope that he has or at least will, he realises that either creation or relocation into a truly hostile area is not as easy as simply saying it will be so. And as for his opinion on Melbourne, I am with calabreseboy, his statements may have that icky element of truth to them (although I am still at a bit of a loss to figure out why and how removing our most profitable game will do anything but put us even more in the mire), but the comments are simply not helpful and frankly make him look cheap. We all know we have, and are in trouble, no-one here (I would hope) is immune to that particular situation, but it is easy (and apparently a lot of fun, given he has done it again and again) to kick a club when they are down, but that unfortunately seems to be his forte. Personally I wish he would just keep his mouth shut or, and I say this with fingers crossed, that his comments bring Dee fans out of the woodwork (and for the record my Dad is flying down for the game, I would but I am still too ill to fly) to attend this extremely important game on Monday, just to prove him wrong. Kind of like the Swans did by winning the Premiership on the back of his negative and staggeringly out of line comments about their brand of footy.

I'm with you guys as well...... Green has been, while a little inconsistent, still by far our best this season. Plus I have long believed he has more up side than Bruce.

West is best for Kerr

Is the article about us being young and nerds true??
QueenC replied to Surfa's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good question though Surfa !!! -
Has been a great servant to the club and as such deserves the congratulations for reaching 100 consecutive games this week...... So well done Jeff for this and the multiple other milestones he has and could well still achieve.
