  1. Do people really believe sacking Richardson and then getting another bunch of assistants will change things? We've seen it before. Goodwin's message is old and stale, we need a fresh voice at the top.
  2. I find it odd that he persists to coach from the bench, you just cant see the whole picture from down there, at this level of football, you need to be across absolutely everything.
  3. How many assistant coaching changes has Goodwin had? Anybody know? Seems a few, but nothing changes.
  4. I can see Richardson being the scapegoat here, meanwhile things will be as they always are, nothing will change, we will win a few then lose a few and the cycle continues.
  5. Max believes Goodwins spin.
  6. Apparently we had an extra in OUR own forward 50. Which is laughable if true. I could understand us panicking and having an extra in the Saints F50, but jeez.
  7. All with a heap of premiership players, a relatively easy fixture & a great injury list that we may never see again. Max's tapwork has been overrated for years IMO, he does his best work around the ground with his marking etc, but as far as tap work goes, his best is far behind him.
  8. Whats even more laughable is, we were penalised for having an extra in our own forward line. I could understand somewhat if it had of been an extra player in the back six with the Saints momentum, but what a [censored] up!
  9. Stick to what you know, underage football. By the way, I still stand by my original comments and they turned/turning out correct so keep being negative yourself.
  10. Today, the players spoke of their thoughts on LOVE for the coach.....
  11. There is a real stench at the club and has been for some time, like they have been trying to cover things up, for eg the words love and culture ring a bell.... I think we got too far ahead of ourselves after 21', the coach being the main culprit, senior players not far behind. A Graders wanting to leave and don't look like they want to be there, off field dramas, many we probably aren't aware of. I have never been a fan of Goodwin, he was never our first choice, the guy is full of spin and doesn't seem like the sharpest tool. He has one main way & if it doesn't work, he is like a deer in the headlights. We have screwed up so much since 21, no key forwards to come our way which has always been our Achilles heel, relying on smalls and medium forwards. Constant selection integrity issues and even today it happened, I'd rather lose trying some kids and something different, but he continues to select all the protected species, there must be something deeper in this.... While today wasn't all Simon's fault by any means, we played bruise free footy with no defensive alertness. He needs to go, the club is at rock bottom after today. Our board is a shambles, president (interim) MIA, memberships plundering, players going backwards, the list goes on. Goodwin must go and time to trade out some senior players and start fresh, thankfully we have some kids to build on.
  12. That's what happens when you play bruise free football and lack defence, brave hey @Pennant St Dee LOL On a side note, a really disappointing result club wide, this is crisis level. We cant afford the continued drop in memberships. I didn't expect the result after being 46pts up, but you just knew once they got a run on, we were in trouble. Simon and leadership group need an overhaul, we cant continue with Goodwin. And how does Melksham and Pickett end up stuck on the bench, Goodwin was right there too!
  13. JVR one of the big disappointments of the year imo. I don’t think he’s going to make it.
  14. I highly doubt we are fired up at all, it just looks like a bruise free game of no defence tbh.
  15. Richardson should go for sure, but so does Goodwin, no questions asked. I’m not buying the keep Goodwin but get rid of Richardson at all. May as well chuck in Williams, Jones and Lamb too.
  16. It’s just constant lies and spin. He hasn’t got a clue what to do from here.
  17. this is half the problem, we will win a few, then most will be on the train again and then we will lose a heap. It’s a vicious cycle that I have seen enough of. Each group of wins buys more time for Goodwin, however the same Will and does keep happening. Yep not only playing favourites, but also jobs for the boys. It stinks deep.
  18. Slight technicality doesn't make it any better.....5 of 6, rather than 5 of 5. Same same really in the whole scheme of things.
  19. Just a slip of the tongue as the other two are former. Goodwin will stay until next year unfortunately.
  20. So we have won 6 of the last 22, of that 6, we won 5 in a row.....think about it.
  21. Both had/have both IMO.
  22. Reminds me of Chris Dawes in more ways than one.
  23. After listening to Goodwins presser, it feels like he genuinely believes his own spin. At the start of the year he talked up finals as the bare minimum, now we are "building" (re-building) for the next flag. He is hoping for the best and has no idea, he relies on effort to keep us in games. He depends on Petracca/Oliver (who don't even look like they want to be here) to be the competitive beasts and lessen the likelihood for a beating. He seems to think they are the nucleus for the next flag, when IMO he should try a half/game where Rivers, McVee, Langford, Lindsay, Bowey are the frontline mids. The beasts of old will find their mojo out on the flanks, they are done in the midfield. Viney as a defensive forward full time (and leave him there). To think we have had a relatively easy draw, pretty good run re injuries the fact is many have regressed. He is a limited coach and we need a fresh voice. I guess the same people who were excited by yesterdays presser, was excited re finals talk before the season and excited for all the other spin of last few years. 6 wins from last 22, 2 x bottom 4/5 finishes incoming, all with a fair chunk of premiership players on the list. No first round pick this year either.
  24. Going at it from a different angle, reckon the Crows also let us off the hook early by their own bombing into F50 instead of hitting up targets, probably due to the pressure around the ground/half forward. When they lowered their eyes they hit up targets all across the ground. Be interesting to see their DE in first Q as opposed to rest of the match. Reckon the scoreboard flattered us tbh, we hung in there on effort but still see the same issues. Fritsch, Petracca, Oliver, Jefferson, Koltyn.....to name a few. Seems like Melksham is the only Melbourne forward who actually leads in the last 15yrs.
  25. Thank you. Tough times.
