I think he used to be an outstanding tap ruckman, however not for a while (few years), compare what he was doing in 2018 v 2025. Perhaps it's to do with him changing the way he plays (ie; he doesnt jump anymore). At the end of the day mate, bit off topic for both of us as its the Goodwin thread and not about players. He will still go down as a great regardless of any of our opinions at the end of the day.

I find it very disappointing Layzie, I'm no expert but you'd have to think these review would cost somewhere in the 7 figures range, we have and are going backwards and the guy is still employed as a consultant all while this is happening. Feels like its not only the coach who selects a job for the boys each week, but its happening higher up too, Jones and Green included. We arent a wealthy club so when we make these decisions, they need to count the first time. Bring Jackson back, he was respectfully ruthless.

How many reviews have we had or need now? seems like we have had a few.....yet we go backwards, something has to give, well multiple things. @Macca If Yze had to "call the shots" then that doesnt speak highly of the coach does it. Also, if the players are lazy, then why does the Coach keep playing his favourites? Also, we were having a lot of the same issues with Yze and before his too. @Dr. Gonzo Nailed it.

Green isn't cut out for his position IMO. And I thought that before this waffle.

Out of curiosity, could you provide where the review mentioned he had to coach from the bench? It's an odd recommendation.

We were still having a lot of the same issues with Yze there to be honest.

It is currently a shambles - club wide, across the board.

Yep i think you are right. However you just cant see the game from ground level, which may be a part of the reason he is slow to adjust. I agree he is doing his best, but IMO he is a limited coach and needs everything going right. We have how many reviews since the review! Senior players are ruling the roost on gifted and ridiculous long term contracts as well. And I'm all for shaking their hands (and Goodwins) and starting fresh with the young group we have. Trade in some good leaders

I very much doubt the news stories of Viney, Petracca, Oliver & Pickett in the media before the season helped our onfield form this year either, just another way of viewing it.

Do people really believe sacking Richardson and then getting another bunch of assistants will change things? We've seen it before. Goodwin's message is old and stale, we need a fresh voice at the top.

I find it odd that he persists to coach from the bench, you just cant see the whole picture from down there, at this level of football, you need to be across absolutely everything.

How many assistant coaching changes has Goodwin had? Anybody know? Seems a few, but nothing changes.

I can see Richardson being the scapegoat here, meanwhile things will be as they always are, nothing will change, we will win a few then lose a few and the cycle continues.

Apparently we had an extra in OUR own forward 50. Which is laughable if true. I could understand us panicking and having an extra in the Saints F50, but jeez.

All with a heap of premiership players, a relatively easy fixture & a great injury list that we may never see again. Max's tapwork has been overrated for years IMO, he does his best work around the ground with his marking etc, but as far as tap work goes, his best is far behind him.

Whats even more laughable is, we were penalised for having an extra in our own forward line. I could understand somewhat if it had of been an extra player in the back six with the Saints momentum, but what a [censored] up!
