  1. It's about the TV.... More would watch Coll/Geel v Haw as opposed to GC v Bris. $$$
  2. Nailed it. On top of this and this record, after finished 3rd last year and making a prelim, the AFL gift them 18 games in Victoria. They are the new Carlton brown paper bag brigade. Obviously we would all love to be like Geelong, but jeez they have so many gifts across the board. They should be investigated.
  3. So, Geelong, who finished 3rd last year (2024) and made a prelim, played 18 games in VIC this year, including 6 of the last 7. Melbourne, who finished 5th last in 2024, played 15 games in VIC..... How is that fair or equalisation?
  4. Yep, that was the first thing that came to my mind weeks ago.... saving face.
  5. Also adding, out of the current 8, 26 of those teams have played in GF's since 2001. 14 have won in 24 years. Cats 14 prelims in 19 years. Our home ground is the MCG, we just need to get better, somehow..... I still think Cats have an unfair playing field, both on and off the ground. You do have to take your hat off to Stephen Wells though.....compare that to us.
  6. Tim English & Tim Kelly, wowsers.....
  7. I see what you did there
  8. Wowsers. So said they said they had one and didnโ€™t even bring one out? Quite shocking and [censored] poor tbh. Just wing it and hope for the best. No strategic plan for the last 2yrs then?
  9. Also, what happened to the strategic plan? We had one through to 2023 it seems and the board were meant to present a current plan from my research, however did this eventuate? Do we even have a plan? Seems odd after our period of 21-23.
  10. Just a hunch as obviously none of us know, but it seems like Smith wants to hit the deck running as we have major issues on and off field, members, sponsors etc and it doesnโ€™t appear Green wants to let go, or want to let go. I personally believe Green should be booted altogether, from board and all.
  11. Exactly, if thatโ€™s his approach then itโ€™s a no.
  12. Did I just hear that Steven King has put his hand up? I missed the back end of the conversation
  13. I think Green is on a power trip and doesn't want to let go.... it may be causing more damage across the club than what people realise, also considering how it looks to prospective coaches....
  14. Sounds like Green has got on a power trip and doesnโ€™t want to let goโ€ฆ
  15. JVR is one of the most overrated players amongst Dees fans. Iโ€™ll say it again, heโ€™s a bust. No forward craft at all, doesnโ€™t lead, ball bounces off his hands and can barely take a mark, always playing from behind. Poorly coached, but wonโ€™t make it.
  16. Petracca, Oliver, Langdon, May, Viney all look terrible. Trac and Oliver donโ€™t even look like they want to be there
  17. Petty is a backman. Tired of this experiment
  18. There are some pathetic effort smothers going on, multiple lacklustre attempts. I donโ€™t see what bringing May back achieves, games into Adams wouldโ€™ve been more beneficial.
  19. While I agree to a certain extent, We need to stop thinking like a small club.
  20. We saw the results on field and they were poor, very poor actually. But also consider loss of members and sponsors as weโ€™ve heard the last week or two. Thereโ€™s more to this than just Goodwin himself
  21. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Sounds like we are keen on Buckley but setting up a panel/committee to save face and make it look like it's a thorough search. Can't say I'm overly impressed "if" that committee consists of Green, a CEO who hasn't even started or has football background and Richardson, who many thought would be first to go. What if Buckley pulls out? Do we trust these guys?
  22. Cam is a different kettle of fish, he comes from successful organisations and has build a good foundation of skills outside of the Melbourne way, it is this reason I think Nathan Jones should be moved on after this year (plus he is the under performing midfield/stoppage coach), having lost 75% of all the games he played at the club, go learn your craft at other successful organisations and potentially come back one day. The last thing we need is the boys' club raring it's head again, which it looks like it is already underway. Cam has the added benefit of doing his apprenticeship under Clarkson & now Fagan.
  23. Totally agree, 100%. Normally always an ulterior motive behind them, it's often the managers with loose lips.
  24. Kozzy seems way off today
  25. Taking the game, clearing out the forward line - whereโ€™s that been for years? Even Petracca back playing hard at it again.
