  1. I'm in guys depending on the date chosen. Only available in December my weekends for November are all booked out unfortunately. I totally forgot about the Carlton match (hope we weren't short on numbers) glad to hear we got up and had a win though.
  2. I'm in for sure. Forward Pocket if available if not half forward flank.
  3. This board is quickly becoming as bad and as unreadable as big footy, seriously some of the potential trades touted on these boards are just ridiculous. I know were all sad the footy season is over and we need something dees related to talk about but seriously does the discussion have to sink to such a low level.
  4. Agree with you Rolling Stone I haven’t seen anything in R.Warnock to really get excited about and I started watching him quite closely this year due to all the speculation he might be heading our way. Having said that I didn’t really see anything in M.Warnock until he was given a real go and he turned me around quite considerably as the year went on, maybe Robbie with a regular run as the first ruck at a new club will excel but I wouldn’t be throwing 2nd round draft picks or ridiculous amounts of cash around to land him based on what I’ve seen to date.
  5. Great news will be great to have his experience in the backline next year. When fit he is amongst our best players for sure.
  6. In the opening rounds I thought Morton's disposal was top class he was doing neat pin point passes and had really good vision for hitting players on the lead and getting rid of the ball in traffic not sure what has happened since but I suspect it's just a confidence thing i'm not concerned with his kicking. It will be a key focus for him over the pre-season along with gym work. Morton is going to be a star really knows how to find the goals as well which will make him a real threat, one of those players that will be hard for opposition sides to find a good match up for.
  7. I'm not sold on Warnock I'm not convinced he will be the star alot are predicting and his stuffed shoulder is a worry but if we can get him without giving up to much i'm all for it. I've quite liked the Jamar/PJ ruck duo and would be happy with the club to persist with those two as starters.
  8. Good initative by the club but to give the site and users a bit more incentive to donate it would have been a nice feature if users were allowed to create there own profile page and have the $ they have donated accompany there profile i.e Ryan has donated $50 to save the MFC This way all that have donated are on display and being recognised for their contribution in a more formal manner it would have also created a bit of competition with supporters claiming to be the most passionate by being on display as donating the most $, an honour roll of top contributors to the debt demolition. Anyways just a thought. I have donated $20 which is all I can afford this week and hope to donate more over the month.
  9. Yeah can't say I like that new design much either would much prefer the inverted colour example that was on another demonland thread. Even an all red design with blue MFC logo in the centre would be better not a fan of the white really to much like Sth Melb/Sydney, much better than the silver though.
  10. Exactly, Is Paul that incapable that it is worth throwing 125k away when our goal is to reduce debt, bemused by all this at the moment but will wait it out and hope we get an insight to the boards plans and a replacement soon. Maybe Schwab is lined up for the role and will work for free and be paid outside of the club with houses and 'external' business opportunities therefore the 125k we have thrown away is justified and seen as a money saving exercise.
  11. "After extensive discussions with Paul, we have determined that a new CEO will be required to execute this Board’s plans to take our Club into the future" And we're still none the wiser to what the Board's actual plans are to take our club into the future... when are we going to hear about these plans? I don't know what to make of this decision just hope they have made the right one. Would love to hear more about the Board's plans for the future. Time will tell.
  12. I'd have Ben Cousins in my team any day of the week even at his age he is a quality player and even last year when he actually did play showed no signs of slowing down or being past it, anyone recall his comeback game when he got over 30 touches. The way people go on about his off-field problems you would think he murdered someone, the bloke had a problem and by all reports he had made efforts to address those problems being out of WA would only help him as well. I think Cousins would still have 2 to 3 years quality service in him and is one of the most naturally talented footballers of the past decade. Having said that I don't think he fits in with where we are at in going forward and don't think we would pick him up, but I certainly wouldn't be up in arms if the club decided he was worth a punt.
  13. I also join the call for Green to be captain, he has had a great year so far and proven himself as a real leader on the field. Green - Captain, McLean - Vice Captain for 2009.
  14. Great summary dappa and I have to say I agree with your comments, I wouldn't want to give up a 1st or early 2nd rounder for him... no way. Would have a fit Rivers over a fit Kosi anyday mind you.
  15. Any other names people can come up with as a potential Key Forward option at seasons end? We need a key position forward more than any team in the comp at the moment, drafting one in this years draft is a long term vision, what will we do in the next 2-3 years while we wait for a draftee to hopefully develop into the next Buddy? hope newton comes good???
  16. I know it's a bit early to bring up the end of season trades and stuff yet but just putting this name out there and feel free to throw others in the mix but would a player like Koschitzke fit into the MFC plans for the future or is he out of the age bracket. Is 25 now and the saints aren't looking like challenging any time soon so may look at getting rid of some middle aged players and starting again with Koschitzke's name already being mentioned in the press. Would provide a target up front for us which we sorely need but is injury prone and has underacheived to date IMO. What do others think? For the right price would he be good to have in the red and blue?
  17. Was really impressed with Garland's game yesterday his closing pace and natural leap really stood out for me, once he strengthens up a bit and gets some more confidence to take the game on a bit more he is going to be something special down back. Warnock has the build and frame to be a strong CHB for us. Haven't seen much of Martin but what I hear is encouraging. The point raised about our small defenders is a bit of a concern but don't forget we still have Ricky Petterd to come back, wheels is in our best 22 easily when fit and i think Cheney will step up next year, Grimes may even end up playing off the back flank when he gets fit.
  18. By all means if he can't force his way into the team and prove something by years end though we must delist as he hasn't really been hindered so much by inuries but more by percieved lack of attitude and willingness to committ far to often Melbourne hold onto players with the hope they will come good and they seem to never come good... Would love to see Maric get a run at some stage as well.
  19. I've written him off not only on Round 1 but on his performances and appeared lack of interest and commitment to date. I saw the games he played under Riley and sure he showed a bit but no more than say a Brent Grgic did in one or two games of his lack lustre career. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong on this but I just dont think he is and ever will be the answer to our forward woes.
  20. Who cares, he's been totally written off in my book, one speccy doesn't make a player. His performance Rnd 1 against Hawthorn is one of the softest i've ever seen of anyone wearing the red and blue and if your not ready to have a crack round 1 under a new coach with opportunities beckoning then chances are you never will be.
  21. Games shouldn't just be handed to blokes simply cause we have "no other options" Newton has showed absolutely nothing all year and does not deserve a spot in the side at present I would rather see Dunn played at FF but he to as shown little this year. Newton is not the answer and i'm starting to think he never will be.
  22. In: Rivers, Davey, Morton Out: Bartram, Frawley, Bell Maybe dutchy will get a run if fit...
  23. Our forward line has been MIA all year really and man do we look like a slow side without Davey out there. Wonaemirri seemed to be the only forward who was willing to chase and try and make things happen. Bate got a bit of the footy and presented ok but had absolutely no impact on the game. I can't see anyone on our current list capable of kicking a bag of goals this year except maybe Aussie or Davey who are crumbers. Miller and Bate play to far up the ground to have any impact on the scoreboard.
  24. Add me to the list of people who thought both Garland and Warnock would not be around at the end of the year. Also add me to the list of people happy to be proven wrong thus far, though both players still have a long way to go. I wonder how much influence Sean Wellman has had on these guys this year? Kudos to Bails for showing faith in both players in particular Garland who he has constantly pumped up in the media since arriving at the club. I think that faith and confidence Bailey has shown in Garland has helped Col turn it around after his disappointing games earlier this year. Is this Bailey's player development skills shining through? I think so.
  25. Stoked, looking forward to seeing him play he's definately earned his spot.
