  1. In addition to myself in the back pocket i've managed to rope in a mate who's a keen dees fan so put 'Snake' down on the half back flank for now, he's a big lad and can play a bit so will give the backline some added toughness.
  2. I'll have a run this time again, was a good day last year. I usually play in the forward pocket but there taken so put me down for a back pocket.
  3. I don't care what kind of spin people put on this about it being all about positioning the brand better blah blah blah it won't change the fact that it's still a boring, uninspiring and ugly logo but at the end of the day it should be our on field performances and success that attracts new supporters not a logo.
  4. Wholeheartedly agree! I proudly have the number 2 fixed to the back of my dees jumper. Definetely has 'cult' like charachteristics.
  5. Cheers to everyone involved in organising this, despite the heat and the loss it was a great day even though I can barely walk today! I've got some photos from the game that I might post at a later stage if there any good (haven't had a chance to look over them yet).
  6. some others that would prob fit the cult hero title Rod Grinter Jeff Farmer Darren Cuthbertson (For about 2 weeks) Strawbs O'Dwyer Cult Heroes generally posess one or more of the following charachteristics - freakish abilities (farmer, jackovich, cuthbertson - for about 2 weeks then they went missing) - are hard at it and like a dust up (Grinter, Pickett) - have unique appearance (Strawbs O'Dwyer) - Are ordinary full backs but have a beard (Nicho, Carrol)
  7. I've never seen the bloke play, is there anyone on our list you could liken him to? Did he play any games for the sandy seniors this year? What position? I remember reading a bit about him when we drafted him but can't say i know to much about him.
  8. I'd probably like to see Green running off the back flank or in the midfield at this stage of his career, his experience would help the young fellas in the middle and his kicking improves our delivery into the forward line. Having said that if Neitzy is injured and our forward line is struggling like it did this year I could certainly see Green holding down a spot in the forward line playing out of the square and kicking bags of goals, this is where I can see him playing later in his career in a similar role Brad Johnson plays for the doggies. He showed glimpses of brilliance up forward in his early days.
  9. Yeah bold me up as well. Went for a kick at the weekend to get some practice in and as a result I realised how bloody unfit I am but looking forward to the game.
  10. I've put myself on the wing for now but given my relatively low fitness I may have to rotate across the forward line as well.
  11. Count me in for sure, I’d liken myself to a Ricky Petterd type player – got guts, shows pride in the jumper, good skills, built like a skeleton and my lungs are shot. Only difference is I have about 20% of his footballing ability…
  12. I would have though pick 4 and 9 would have been enough to snare Judd or is that just wishful thinking? Oh well least were still in the hunt and doing everything possible to get the great man.
  13. I would have to be in with a shot of winning the 'spends everyday at work on demonland reading threads but NEVER or VERY RARELY posts' award!
  14. I'm taking my daughter to her first game this week she's far to young to have any idea of what's going on but least when she get's older I can let her know she saw one of the best players to ever pull on a Melb Jumper play his 300th even if she does sleep all the way through it! Really looking forward to this weeks game!
  15. Yeah would have to agree Johnson for me is a standout improver, Jones continues to improve and is going to be such a valuable player for many years to come. 2007 was definately a make or break year for Wheatley and on current form he has shown some definite improvement but still has alot to prove in my opinion.
  16. 1st Round Draft Pick and Moloney is a deal i'd be happy to see go through if Judd nominated the dees as his preffered club. I think Moloney still has a lot to offer but given his ongoing battle with injuries from a Melbourne point of view you would definitely put him up for trade before the likes of say Bruce, Green, Johnstone and especially Mclean.
  17. If your after a few more players myself and two fellow dees fans would definately be interested in playing! I'll continue to follow this post as i'm on here quite regularly killing time at work, hopefully it goes ahead.
  18. Great Stuff. Be great to see Byron play on till the end of 2008 - always been one of my favourite players to watch even when he wasn't wearing the red and blue.
  19. Love watching Petterd and Jones play, early on you can already tell they are going to be great players for MFC. Hope there goood form continues. The Melbourne midfield combo of Jones and McLean will be unstoppable.
