Haha not so sure about that mate! I've been following Aldershot (a league 2 team) for about 4 years now. Basically because they're Red and Blue and hve been faced with massive financial problems. In the Carling Cup we've managed to roll West Ham at West Ham, Carlisle (League One) and now Rochdale (League One) to make it into the Fourth Round! We're now the lowest ranked side remaining. I'm hoping for either a fixture that gives us a good shot to go through to the next round, or a fixture against a big team that might let me see them play on the telly!

Didn't go mate, trip got cancelled. I was gutted but it was hardly the worst thing to come out of the situation. I finally got to travel there in '08 after I'd wanted to go my whole life. A fantastic experience and a wonderful place to go. Felt safer there than I did in Rome (save for the traffic)!

I was in year 9. We were watching a movie at the time - Miss Congeniality I think. Slept in, decided not to go to school as I was heading to Egypt the next day and we had some stuff to get ready. Was bouncing off the walls with excitement when my Step Dad came home and threw Herald onto the bed and all I saw was that horrible picture. Spent the next three weeks watching the news constantly. Those videos still give me chills.

The Callan Ward articles have clearly illustrated how it's a joke that players wouldn't just admit that it was all about the money. One on the AFL website raved about how he was a western boy who loved there all his life and spoke of how fiercely important loyality is in footy - all reasons to stay I'd have thought. On Ward, I'm 98% sure he fielded, and seriously considered, offers to switch codes and join the Western Force. Apparently, there was also competition from now Championship-based West Ham.

RR it's my understanding that the initial squad of 40 isn't based on position but rather the best players of the year and is subsequently sorted into a 22 from there. If you're selecting Milne in your 40, there's zero need for a token second forward who doesn't show up against top opposition. How you'd chose Betts over Walker this year is beyond me.
