  1. 2 reviews in 5 balls both outs for Watson. Kallis out is huge.
  2. I rate Buddy's goal in this years Prelim very highly.
  3. If it came to a decision between Watts and Hurley I'd choose Watts every day and twice on Sunday.
  4. Only just got a hold of Community. Finished both seasons in no time - brilliant show. Tudors was a good series - helpful also that you can get the whole thing and not have to wait for a new season.
  5. It's arguably cost us 2 flags already.
  6. Katich made a century in his last first class match - a week ago.
  7. Is Aussie being moved to the Rookie list?
  8. Given that you didn't support the club through the humiliating years of 87-88, not to mention the 23-24 years previous to that, are you in any position to make any judgements about the Melbourne Football Club? There you go wyl.
  9. I'm 24. That must be the only reason I'm foolish enough to think that Brad Green's 12 seasons, one year as captain and 241 games make him more worthy of "accolades" than; Mark Neeld: 0 games Jack Trengove: 37 James Frawley: 82 Nathan Jones: 114 Liam Jurrah: 35 and Jack Watts: 40 308 games combined for those 6 individuals. There's probably 6-7 years between them as good as Green's were from '05-'10. On a one-one basis I'd probably rate him equal with Moloney and ahead of Jamar's 2 good seasons and 110 games. But please, ignore logic and include some rant about accepting mediocrity and living through supporting during the lean years.
  10. Can you do me the favour of re-reading your posts twice before posting? I can't express the groan I gave when you tried to play the age card in a completely meaningless off topic manner. I look forward to the next instalment.
  11. There you go, do some of your own research for once. http://finalsiren.com/PlayerStats.asp?PlayerID=700&SeasonID=ALL&Sort=Rating Desc I like how you ignored the rest of my post...
  12. I thought H_T's point was that Leon Davis vanished in the finals last year, yet Collingwood still won, therefore disproving the theory that "you can't afford to have players that vanish in September/October if you want to win a premiership" - but I guess not.
  13. Green has played his best football since 2005 - 7 seasons of which 5 of them have been horrible. He has been at his best (save for this year) when we've been at our worst - that's a sign of more than just how bad we've been. Make him earn it before he gets accolades? Are you out of your mind? The guys has played 12 seasons at the club and 12 months ago he was made captain. In 12 months he may well retire. To say he hasn't influenced a game against a top side since 2000 is some of your best work. Not the least bit ridiculous is that you claim someone who has never worn red and blue in any capacity on match day for the Dees has done more to deserve said accolades.
  14. Not that I'm advocating putting him on there, but Green has earned his spot more than all but 1-2 of the guys on the banner IMO.
  15. Thanks mate (and others)... though maybe I shouldn't watch the match from Koh Samui! We land there and hour before Round 1 - so it'll hopefully be televised somewhere that I can get to quickly. Hoping for a non Saturday-arvo match Round 2. Reckon I'll get it from Phi Phi?
  16. Any word on round 2/3? Hanging on it desperately - anyone with advice on where to watch matches in Thailand would be asked to kindly let me know of any good locations.
  17. To put the game in some perspective. The 15th most likely team to win the League Cup (second least likely) is paying $81. Man U are the $4.50 favourites. Aldershot are $1001.
  18. Shots Man U on fox sports one tomorrow mowning at 5:45! And going on past results, surely we wouldnt be worse than 6-1 odds. Maybe even into 5-2!
  19. By looking above, the following can be added to the discussion. Teams have played a team above them on the ladder 14 times the week after playing in Darwin. The record is 4-10 (which was 4-6 before this year). Teams have played a team below them on the ladder 6 times for a 4-2 result. (One of those was a 7th against 9th with the side in 9th on a massive roll - bound for a prelim final. The other was Port Adelaide, a rabble) If it were seriously the detrimental event that many would have us believe, I doubt 4 teams could've got up to beat a team above them, and still most of the better sides get the job done.
  20. My personal conclusion is that it may well have an effect, but the effect it has is a far cry from the basic attitude of many that the next 2-3 weeks after playing in Darwin are a write off. "For example, I could just as easily conclude, from your analysis, that Darwin games do deplete teams but not sufficiently to have top teams lose to lesser teams" is pretty much exactly what I said - good teams will get the job done. For you I'll go through and explore a bit deeper, will update next post.
  21. But geez we were great the round before travelling across the city to play the Bulldogs... Honestly, how can you say that you aren't ignoring those stats when you haven't mentioned them once and have only responded with generalised personal tales about how hot it is.
