  1. I'd be happy enough to give him 6...
  2. Ah OK, I see where you're coming from now. Without knowing what the negotiations were like, it's hard to say if we did or didn't extract value for those two players - given the outcome (especially Martin's) I can only assume that we did.
  3. Won't 73 and 74 be used to upgrade Nicho and Magner/Evans?
  4. I'm not great with list management side of things - but wouldn't that be the main reason we'd get those picks in trades?
  5. Not sure what the rest of the post had to say - as the same story could be offered by many on this forum stemming from a range of differing backgrounds. This section was the only part of your post where you could have elaborated on the reason for your disillusion and withdrawal from the club - not sure why you wouldn't do so given that you'd spent the time to come onto the forum to declare your intentions. Being banned from a forum has zero to do with ones' support from a club. I'm not sure why you think supporting Richmond would be better in that sense - or what benefit you think getting away with said banning would have from being a Richmond fan. If you wish to desert the Melbourne Football Club, don't come on here and act like it is someone else's fault - it is your decision and your decision alone. We'd be stronger for you to stay the course but if you choose to leave, ultimately, it's entirely up to you. Don't act like the "blood" is on 'Land users' hands.
  6. I don't like putting too much credence on one game - but how different things may have been if we played Geelong a week later, even with the same result...
  7. Largely out of Neeld's control. Unless he can jump in a time machine, the 47 years previous have nothing to do with Neeld (save a few meetings between the Pies and the Dees where he played a minor role and on a few occasions as a player). 186 is a horrible blight on our club and still gives me nightmares - it has, however, served as a catalyst for a monumental shift in direction (hopefully for the positive). No decisions are made purely with 186 in mind, but that day forced the club to look in the mirror and choose a new path. Whilst 9 of the players who played that day are already gone, they are not gone purely for their involvement in that game. They are gone because of a mixture of continual failure and Neeld's desire to stamp his philosophy on the list as quickly as possible
  8. No, WC were likened to have given up a pack of Twisties (pick 88) to get him.
  9. Howe should go third man up around the ground. Sellar rucks in defence, Dawes/Clark/Pedersen-resting Jamaer ruck in the forward 50. Jamar/Howe/Pedersen ruck through the middle.
  10. Clark won't be rucking. Dawes won't be rucking. That's been clear for a while IMO - they're too valuable up forward. I agree with Clark FF, Dawes HF with Pedersen somewhere between the two interchanging with Jamar up forward. Can't fathom how people are upset over losing Martin while gaining Pedersen.
  11. So Dawes may stay closer to goal than he often did? Or we'll rotate the two to link to Clark?
  12. I'm hoping to look back in 4 years time and thinking how lucky we were to get him for pick 13.
  13. This is what I think will happen: Tippett will be cleared of any wrongdoing, he will enter the draft with a clause in his contract to be paid "x" amount of dollars for a NSW team, GWS will be priced out and he will end up at Sydney with pick 23. Meanwhile, the AFL will come out and say that Sydney's bonus Salary Cap room has been removed after the investigation declares that the price of living is negligible. This will only happen, of course, after the National Draft concludes with the newly-signed Kurt Tippett donning the Red and White.
  14. I like your post except for this part. The way I see it, we got Hogan for pick 13. I wouldn't drop my rating down 3 cogs if pick 13 didn't become a star - if he did, on the other hand...
  15. So the AFL will allow him to enter into the draft and be picked up by, say, a New South Wales team?
  16. Will they be forced to give us back a 21 year old Scott Thompson?
  17. Would've thought he'd have been at Richmond at the time. Low Risk/Low-Medium Reward. Glad he's added a hard body, was decent at Port a couple of years ago but injuries are a big concern.
  18. Strange situation but I don't think any review will come to anything. Tippett may be absent for all future trips to Adelaide for his new club, however. Not exactly loved in Farmers Union country. Off topic, but I cannot believe that NRL used to operate our current Finals system before choosing to switch to the McIntyre system.
  19. Amazing! San Fran back from 2-0 down away at Cincinatti to win 3-2. Down 3-1 to St Louis with a deciding game in S.L. Win the last three again to progress. Still can't go past Detroit. Detroit in 5.
  20. Am I the only person who read this and immediately thought of Jared Rivers?
  21. Dogga's first game IIRC with his long blonde mop (ha). We rolled the Blues by 2 points in a game that involved Seecamp belting Pearce. Think it was also that game that ended Jimmy's streak? Or nearly did after a broken wrist (?).
