  1. I'd like to see you try and convice people to add 20 dollars onto a membership to get a right they already have. Not to mention trying to convince someone who is not yet a member, why they would then have to pay an extra 20 for something that doesn't get you into any games, and only things like pens and books that many here feel should be culled from the real membership that actually gets you into games Just because it's an MCC member, does not mean you have a pot of gold like some of you think. You need to think practically about bringing them on board, not adding to the price for the sake of it. Hell, make normal memberships 300 and our debt will be gone
  2. How did we go from thinking we were 2.5 mil in debt, and suddenly we're now almost 5. Surely they couldn't have hidden it in annual reports, but also it couldn't have been simply accrued this year. Also Haze, how do you see the Bubbledome as "undeniably the Melbourne Demons" when it will be shared between us, the Storm and possibly a future union team? Not to mention we couldn't even train on it.
  3. I'd drop Aussie for Maric. Aussie is the only first year player to avoid getting a few weeks break this year, and from a distance he seems to be getting a bit tired in my opinion. Give Maric a go in a home game in what is essentially a low pressure match, but one that would still give him a taste of AFL footy
  4. Hazy, thank god you said it, because i've been saying it all year. He chases hard, but that does not make him quick. He has good ball skills, but that does not make him necessarily flashy. Sick of the quasi-racism behind the "aussie is lightning quick" movement. Last week on the radio they were talking about Farmer having a quiet day, "Farmer has been quiet today, but so has Aussie at the other end" Aussie wasn't even in the play. It creeps into everyday footy speak, and i personally don't like it
  5. Saturday is the Sabbath dude, not Sunday
  6. So make normal membership 120 then. You've got to think practically, becoming a "member of the greatest club on earth" is useless when thinking of how to attract new members, especially a group who are traditionally tough to attract. You and I may agree it's a good enough reason, but many people don't and that's possibly why they aren't members. I'm still a fan of getting something on the renewal form for MFC supporters asking whether you'd like to become a member of the MFC, and with it you get a special MFC/MCC card that gets you into the MCC
  7. To make the MFC/MCC more expensive, you have to back it up with something. You already get basically nothing for it, as you can already go to games. I pay extra money to get the concession membership, so i can't use it to get into away games. MFC/MCC only makes sense if it gives you access to away games at the dome subject to availability. Otherwise people are being asked to pay 60 dollars for a scarf and a book.
  8. Just so over meaningless words. Words from the club about false dawns serving people's self interests, words from supporters claiming to support the club while having a go at other fans. How anyone can have a go at this cat High Tower is beyond me, he's clearly a nutter fan of the club and of course is entitled to his opinion. Sick of reading press reports about the positives about the club, about the negatives, i just want to see the club DO. Watch them turn the corner and work for the club, not themselves.
  9. Maric! Finally some upside to this horrible week
  10. Kiwi Demon, great effort! Welcome aboard, enjoy the highs, and (ride) the lows, because once you're on the MFC ship, your heart bleeds red and blue
  11. Why didn't Jim challenge for the board at this time then?
  12. This footy club is going down the toilet. I've never been so distressed about the MFC. The first 450,000 raised by debt demolition can go towards paying out our CEO's. How could he be on such ludicrous salary? 8 teachers wages that is. Same old boys club that has always reeked from our club. Curse of the Norm indeed
  13. http://www.convictcreations.com/football/collingwood.htm Read this and you'll stop crying
  14. At least when he got dropped you could just say he'd been given the arse Sorry, i am ashamed
  15. How much did we pay Harris out for not 3 months ago?
  16. The other thing is that in the article on afl.com.au he intimates that as soon as Stynes came in it seemed apparent they wanted him out. That sounds a litte worrying to me, as Stynes couldn't have had a full grasp on the facts when he seemed to make his mind up. Still crossing fingers
  17. How in the hell was McNamee on 460 grand a year? What was he even doing? I pray this is being done to strengthen our team, and that Stynes is truly assembling a good team, but the amount of money our club wastes through decisions like this (is that 400,000 this year just through sacking Harris and McNamee?) is just outrageous. We need to learn staff retention, we need a core group of people that stay together
  18. Yeah don't get me wrong, i'm not saying anyone's opinion is right or wrong. I just found it interesting (and yes, at first surprising) that really none of us found Bruce to be influential, yet the coaches did. Having never really had much experience coaching, and not being at the game, i'd be interesting to hear why they felt he was up there as it would be a good lesson i think. The sample wasn't the reason for my surprise at seeing Bruce in their bests, it was merely my link between the best players of the game thread, and that of our coach. I'd be equally as surprised if everyone here had him as their best Melbourne player, as in my opinion he wasn't. (As in i wasn't using those 9 to back anything up, just as a mirror view to this thread to see how we as supporters vote, and if it is indeed useful)
  19. Then why the issue with me when i expressed i didn't think he was our best either? It was just my opinion And who's Jerry?
  20. So can i ask, if you didn't even have Bruce as our best player, why would you not blink an eyelid when coaches do? I suppose you can say for yourself that you're "not a good judge of performance on the day" as you put it
  21. What can i say, implying it did not fit what i myself felt. You should probably make some shot at analysis yourself at some stage. That would have been a better thing to say Bobby, for what it's worth who would you have rated as Melbourne's top six on Sunday? You too realist
  22. Wow, your ineptitude continues to grow. Where did i state that i knew more than the coaches and that they were wrong? Can you see where i said i was merely stating my own interpretations on a footy forum? Or is that too hard?
