  1. Ah yes, you're quite right. Sorry, i could only find articles before the new contract was signed. Bugger. Airshow is 10-15th of March though
  2. Grand Prix is being held later in an attempt to keep it's spot as a Formula One venue. It's being held 26-29th of March next year, 5pm start on the Sunday. One can only hope we don't get another contract after 2010
  3. Ironic a Melbourne supporter laughing at someone else for being last, but yes, I go for Spurs. Anyone see their 95th minute penalty attempt? Off one upright, rolled across the goalline hit the other upright, then bounced out, another Stoke guy had a shot at goal, drilled it into the crossbar
  4. If you can't get a spot, maybe you can be goal umpire. I'll have a shot at goal that'll be nice and low, just for you!
  5. If we don't win tonight, I may just give up sport
  6. Clarke to Tendulkar, needing 3 to become the most prolific run scorer in the history of the game. Has become an odd honour, but amazing and would be deserved nonetheless
  7. Clearly I don't believe it to be the reason. If I did i would advocate for him to be appointed Coach, mo64 would probably argue that even after passing, Norm would be a better coach than Bailey. I think it just makes for interesting discussion. To point to the lengths some teams endures, and hear interesting "rationale" for it from supporters. I wrote that post inferring that you would definitely call the MFC "curse", the cure of Norm Smith. Once beaten, it's magically gone. Of course that's the case, but it makes for interesting reading. I for one don't mind hearing a bit of "magic" in sport, like the curse of the Black Sox.

    Ouch...

Maybe we can opt out of the '09 season, and rejoin in 2010. That's how it works isn't it? Seriously, how do some people see our list? What other games did we miss out on winning this year? How are we even remotely close to pushing for finals or anything else that would resemble not "bottoming out"?
  9. There you go G n J. Boston, down 3-1 in the seris and 7-0 in the match. Middle of the 7th inning, 7-0 down. Never underestimate the Red Sox at Fenway. They won 8-7. It seems they haven't just broken their curse, they've blown it away
  10. Saints are set to sign Cousins At least he'll fit in in St. Kilda
  11. Bang! D'land jumps in! How much would he be on/want?
  12. Yeah. But in '10 we'll hopefully already on the way up anyway, not to mention that 6 of the first 10(?) picks i think are going to GC, so we won't get anything anyway. Even if '09 is "compromised" pick 1 and 2 will obviously be more beneficial than just one pick. I hope our team improves immediately, and i beleive it will. We will put better, more consistent performances in on the park and our processes will start to click over. However, i honestly just don't see us being able to win more than a handful of games next year, though obviously that will come later.
  13. No, it means that 2010 will have a better, and bigger, talent pool because the kids that are too young for next year's draft, will be old enough the year after
  14. So by that you'd be saying it would be worth bottoming out if the draft wasn't "soiled with Gold Coast draft picks" Well you should be fine if we do bottom out then, because they have no picks in next year's draft
  15. You need to look up the '04 ALCS series then! Not as dramatic, but you should also look at their '07 ALCS, also 3-1 down in that. Wouldn't write them off, especially at Fenway
  16. Tampa Bay are on a roll though
  17. Shouldn't be captain, don't even think he'd want to be the designated front man, but should def be in the leadership group. It's a joke he's never been in there

    Ryan Houlihan

We should definitely pick him up then!
  19. But HT, H&C isn't saying that's the order Sheehan thinks it will go, he's done a 1-5 of how he rates the players
  20. Just look at Cycling. They invest in drug testing and the whole sport is about to collapse
  21. As we have no VFL team, are we effectively the MFC seconds then? Perhaps Carroll will come and have a run with us...
  22. I often find that items that become stickies have a lot less traffic and involvement from posters. You can see from thread views per day for topics Just my two cents.
