  1. Sorry, just read that we offered him two years, so, I suppose when he pulls on a VISY jumper next year, he will be added to the list to hurl abuse to. (perhaps not that extreme, but surely he's rating himself pretty highly to put a price on his head. Wouldn't he want to show loyalty to the club that persisted with him when he was pretty poor, and were going to help in into another contract?) I'm not great on these things so I'd like to hear other positions, but that's a bit dissapointing I'd think. Also, what's the story with Carroll now that he's on our list at this stage? Do we have any options left (aside from to just not play him)?
  2. I wish, if only BB was in charge of list management! Hrm. I'm not going to go and cry about it, but I thought Johnson was finally starting to come good. I certainly thought he had shown more than Wonna if you're going to put in a comparison. Not that they are in any way the same player, but as much as i love Aussie, I see him as a pretty one dimensional player who will need to lift a fair bit. Obviously the same can be said for CJ and i suppose that's the line the club took, but I thought he was starting to click.
  3. I heard he's 12 weeks through his program after just 4 weeks
  4. Just got an email from the club now about it, should be a good day! Good to see the club being proactive! Who else is going?
  5. Are you guys able to put in a "tag" system for posts? Where posters can tag a post they feel should be deleted, and the moderator can thus be directed straight to the post, rather than have to search?
  6. And it's Bentley with a wonder strike!
  7. Most Likely never play a game? Like Troy Simmonds, Simon Godfrey, Shane Woewodin or Brent Moloney? Not to mention rookie listed players, like Aaron Davey, Russell Robertson, James McDonald, Matthew Bishop, Peter Walsh, Daniel Ward, Mark Jamar or Troy Broadbridge? Now these aren't great players, but I'd take any of them at the start of their careers over a questionable guy who may play 2 years at best
  8. Wow! One team in London! Lol. Well Zeb, you did say this could be the game that turns our season, I guess we'll wait and see. Have a mate who flew to England for the Carling Cup final. He just flew over, landed the day of the Bolton game. I don't think he should come back
  9. Trade week would've been a good idea for them to go for him. I don't think he'll resign, he's too young. List Lodged by Friday
  10. If they're decent leaders, I'd wager they would see themselves as a pretty crucial part to our return to the top of the ladder, despite the fact they won't be playing anymore
  11. Did you tape it or something? Wasn't that on the other night?
  12. I'd suggest it's because in 2005, these were pretty avergae crowds man. Save for the Cats, Pies, and the 35,000 attained for a 1 v 2 clash with WC, these are crowds any team sitting second after round 12 should get
  13. Nugget, I love the enthusiasm and I generally agree that our numbers aren't as bad as the media would have you believe, but we must face they are nonetheless pretty poor. You make interesting points, but the fact they're largely based off 3 year old statistic when we were pretty much flying on the field, and comparing them to struggling clubs, probably does more to hurt it. Rhino, I'm not sure what you mean about it being "unsustainable"? Because the Cats and Crows games of that year happened on Friday night? If we had more Friday night games, would that give us sustainable crowd numbers? A fair draw would obviously help to build our numbers, I don't think a decent crowd number should be ignored because it's played in prime time, we should be demanding a bigger slice of the action. Mind you, I'm not sure why anyone would be talking about our crowd numbers this year after the disgraceful "performance" the Port fans put in
  14. Isn't that a little-known quote from Andrew Demetriou?
  15. thanks boys, it's a big relief! Harry should do the job, though i wonder how long a prospect he is for the club. Is he, as you say, the man to keep us up, or will he also be the man to take ur into the future. Time will tell i suppose. Good to see the reds get up. Due to torres, my man, they'd probably be a second team. Wish i could see some matches though! The other thing about Spurs in the League is that we've lost 6 games by 7 goals in total, so Redknapp should have enough to work with. Having said all that, I'd probably take 3 points from the next three games. Away to Arsenal and Man City and home to Liverpool. Tough time to find form, but may as well do it against the big boys
  16. Nugget, make sure you READ the paper too
  17. On the other hand, without any proper organisation, it could look very poor and in effect have a negative effect.
