This will only get worse as a result of Brexit. The empire is shrinking inwards, until all they'll have left is England. And they'll be loving it.

Nice theory but England supporters are thick and arrogant and entitled. It's important that they're knocked out of any tournament they're in, either at the very early stages to rub their noses in it, or at the very late stages, to rub their noses in it.

What they're saying down at Windy Hill
Mazer Rackham replied to Superunknown's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wise decision. What good would it do? After all, the AFL are the ones in cahoots with the umps in this nightmare. Only people who refuse to wake up can't see that. If it wasn't for the umps -- obviously jealous that they were never good enough to play for the mighty Bombers -- pulling strings behind the scenes, the noble pure and strong Essendon Bombers would have won this year's flag already. And the AFL clearly are okay with this! -

Brain trauma will explain a lifetime of supporting the mighty Demons. I do not know what my excuse is. -

Oh my god. Even their coach is out to get them. This thing goes way deeper than anybody previously supposed. The Enlightenment is almost upon us. Trust no-one. Prepare stores of drinking water and toilet paper. Wait for orders. The password is "we're in a very good place". Godspeed. -
The Essendon fans have managed to slowly work out one of the defining principles of this season, which is also the answer to your question. The umpiring is [censored] hopeless. The extra step the Dons fans haven't made, and probably never will, is that the umpiring is [censored] hopeless for all teams.

Awful, isn't it!

It would have been unbelievable how many terrible decisions and non-decisions they made, except they do it every game every week.

Important win. In form oppo capable of playing well. Took the long road home .... straight kicking would have had it over with at half time ... but put them away. Good steadying win.

With 13 seconds to go, I was sure we had it in the bag.

These score reviews are such bull [censored]. How can you tell anything from these cameras they got out of "My First Webcam" from Big W?
-
Are you talking about the game, or the prime steaks someone is cooking for us all?
-
Ha! ha! We know exactly where you are! Good idea. You are totally secure using a VPN and we they can't find you.

Something to do with .... bushrangers?
-
How are we going to fit them into the cap? They won't come cheap.
-
Hmm. It seems like straight kicking can play a factor in your score and whether you're winning or losing. I'm looking forward to our team trying that.

As Sue said, it's a corrupt competition. Not in the sense of brown paper bags under tables, but in the sense of being degraded and rotten. It seems on every single issue -- sacrosanct heads, MRP, fixtures, away jumpers, umpiring, the draft -- the AFL are incapable of being consistent and holding a line. Or even knowing if they have a line at all.

They love to make examples of lesser players who won't harm the bottom line or get Twateley or Slobbo or Luke Duh-cy ranting on the airwaves. All they need to do is make an example of a Selwood, Cotchin, Lynch, Danger, Mummy and wipe out the problem in one round of footy.

Up to two weeks ago, Pies fans were hungering for a fairytale where they poach Weed from us. In the lead up to QB they were souring on that, and this week they're dead against it. (They are aware of the NQR quality of their makeshift KPFs, only to see both of them run rings around the object of their dreams.) It's hard to see any other club salivating at the prospect of having Weed heading up their forward department.

Storm surely have the best culture of any top level team in the country. The way they can lose stars and replace them with supposedly ordinary players and still keep winning. Meanwhile ... is it just me, or have NRL crowds actually increased during covid?

A what!?! Oh sorry ... I was thinking of another word that starts with "c"

Selwood might play out his final days like Libba senior. Not able to hold his place without a constant litany of dog acts that substituted for his declining and eventually non-existent skills. With Chris Scott as coach it's a real possibility.

What would a Tommy Bugg or an ANB get if they poked a player in the eye? We might not see them ever again on a footy field. (Yes I know TB has retired.) This [censored] of "aww gee, we don't want the best players in the game on the sidelines ... we want them on the ground wowing the crowds" must stop. The rules should be the same for all players. But since the days of Judd and his eye gouging and "pressure points", it's been entrenched that's there's one rule for the "stars" and another for the Tommy Buggs.

3D computer simulations of sport while we all lie in bed eating chips while watching it.

The very problem rugby union is grappling with, more so than league. Their players are monstrous and the game is starting to realise it's got a massive problem around duty of care ... specifically life after rugby for players who are getting continually pounded in the head by giants.
