  1. It is good. Prime time week after week too. Trouble is, by Sunday it seems so long ago I'm busting for more Demons footy. The guy who puts those together does one every week. They're very funny. I don't want to see one when they win though.
  2. The bitcoin world is perfectly aware of how much planet destroying they are doing. And for each "coin" that is "mined", the amount of electricity goes up. It's built in, intentionally. The analogy is that to mine more and more gold, you have to dig deeper and deeper into the ground. It's an artifice. Meanwhile the competitor "coins" are bragging that they don't use as much power. But ultimately, the people making money out of bitcoin can't bring themselves to address the problem, because they're making money. So how much of a problem can it be?
  3. I watched the last quarter of the showdown. Maybe it was fatigue, but when Adelaide had the ball, the Port guys seemed to be literally walking around the field. They just didn't play with urgency. Maybe they'd put the cue in the rack. On the other hand, fatigue does not bode well for them. They are a decent stoppage side but at the minute they have a misfiring backline and a misfiring forward line. I reckon it will be a scrambly game of chaos ball for the first half and then they'll run out of puff. Protein loading?
  4. It's like any gold rush where there's a fortune for the ones who are there on the ground at the start. For the second comers, there might be fortunes to be made or you might get fleeced.
  5. Some late "ins" to this thread: Gawn and Jackson? No wuckers... Expect our run of low scoring fourth quarters to continue as Gawn & Jackson grind Lycett into the dirt. Also expecting Lever to have a blinder, running around like an unregistered dog. Gawn and Jackson are going to have an absolute field day. Doubt we as a team get much more than 15 hit outs all game and their mids will have the ball dished out on a platter. No Ben Brown port get a break there Wow, only one change after that pathetic effort. Melbourne are gonna [censored] us. If our mids don't play the games of their lives, this could be seriously messy. If giving the best midfield in the comp and even bigger advantage in the middle by playing an out of form ruck Vs the best ruckman and ruck combination isn't bad enough, we have gone in with a small forward line with Melb playing May, Lever & Tomlinson. If we play our usual bomb it in long, Hinkley is got even less idea than we already think he does..... Not to mention we could lose this by over 100 points. And my favourite. The first sentence from an article on the Port web site: Port Adelaide enters the biggest test in AFL football - challenging the defending premier
  6. Again, don't forget to take a photo.
  7. Didn't Leo Barry get some compensation for all those pictures of that mark he took? His argument was that there wouldn't be that special moment if he hadn't taken that mark, yet his picture was all over the place. Missed his moment by 15-odd years.
  8. Here you go. Will we split the millions 50/50?
  9. Get a photo of that so you can sell it as an NFT. Better yet, get an artist to mock it up in photoshop and sell that.
  10. When you own a football swap card, you at least get to hold the card. Frame it. Burn it. Use it as a miniature cheese board. Whatever you want. With an NFT, you get to say you own the card. Even if it's just a JPG picture of a card. Even if someone else has a copy of the picture. (The actual paper card might not even exist.) Imagine if Dean Kent sold the moment when he kicked the goal to lock us in to finals in 2018. Someone out there gets to say "hey, see this bit here where Kent slots the goal? I own that." His mate might say "so what? I've got that on a video somewhere at home. And it's on the AFL web site, and Fox sports, and youtube, and so on." The first guy can say, "ah yes. You can watch that very special moment on all those places. But I OWN it."
  11. Why, those blundering nincompoops. They were not supposed to start "influencing" the population until Phase III of Operation Total Compliance. We're just going to have to get ourselves a new government. Ms Chen, call Agent H on the red phone.
  12. The player awoke before dawn He put his boots on He took a jumper from the equipment store And he walked on down the race He went onto the ground where the Lions played, and then he ... Paid a visit to the Hawks, and then he ... He walked on back to AAMI, and And he came to a derby And he picked his side "Adelaide?" "Yes, Port?" "Please don't kill me" "Melbourne? I want to ... AAAAAAAAAARGHHHH!!!!"
  13. A Lever, Petracca, etc, are automatic selections at this point and I think the list understand that.
  14. Everyone tries to copy the premiers.
  15. Dropping Weideman after one game, where he performed, sends a bad message to the list. Hunt went down, Bowey came in, rest is history. You can't say to the blokes on the fringe, be patient, stay keen, your moment will come. And when it does, we'll then discard you for our favourite player. The depth we have in part comes from the (so-far) fact that when your moment comes, if you perform, you keep playing. And players who don't perform (eg Brown mid-last year) will create opportunities for others. We can't dilute the strength by playing favourites. Tough selection dilemma, but it's the kind of problem we could only have dreamed of in years past.
  16. With him in the team, they could have gone down by only 15 goals for a face saving gallant defeat.
  17. I stand corrected. In that case, I hope the Pies lose every game for the rest of the year in exactly the same fashion as tonight.
  18. So we draw a big crowd to our home game. Essendon failed us, so the least the Pies can do is earn us some $$$$
  19. Oh Lord that was good. Even allowing that it was Geelong ... ahhhhhhhhhhh satisfaction. Now I hope the Pies win every game until QB.
  20. This is [censored] funny
  21. It would send a bad message to Weid, and to the entire playing list. "Thanks for your help, son, but you can [censored] off now." For team culture 's sake, if no other reason, they have to keep him on the back of that.
  22. Down to the wire. That last goal that looked like icing on the cake turned out to be crucial.
  23. Is it just me, or are the Lions getting some real gifts from the umps?
  24. Dons dreams gone in a puff of smoke and Port stunned by their own ineptitude. Can this weekend get even better?
