  1. What's the purpose or benefit of any thread in any forum? The purpose is to discuss our current situation fan, which is obviously as dire as it could possibly be. If we weren't discussing the current issues then this place would be very quiet. At the start of the year the MFC told us we were close to a premiership, even the writer of this article thought along the same lines, reflection on the past isn't such a bad thing, just let this thread follow it's natural course. At least the contributors haven't accused fellow barrackers of not being a true supporter.
  2. Why are they underskilled?
  3. Good pickup CB, once again Rhino is just attacking individuals and not concentrating on the topic. Just because someone else has a different point of very doesn't make them any less of a supporter, it's irrelevent whether you're right or wrong but to be accused of that is moronic, afterall if you weren't a supporter why would you be posting about it so passionately?
  4. It ws always goint o be rectangular, that was the whole purpose of it. Anyone remember when we used to train at the 'G and we couldn't use the centre square because of the cricket? Every game the players used to play around the wings and flanks, damn it was frustrating.
  5. Sorry for shouting, but how many times do we hear this at the footy and on this site? Seems like a simple solution to our woes but of course it's not as simple as that, well that's what I thought untill I read this article. http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/anal...561.html?page=1 By the way, I was only joking about how simple I thought it was, but it's an interesting article nevertheless.
  6. LOL, some people are so predictable, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Thankyou for not dissappointing me
  7. Very sad for the family, RIP to a servant of the club.
  8. It's depressing he has to play liek this because we have no one else to fill the breach
  9. Fan, I understand what you're trying to say but we aren't the only club to have been hit hard by injuries this year.
  10. Good post Al, however unfortunately I don't believe that Miller is anywhere near the same league as Leppitsch.
  11. I believe this post also sums up our situation very well. Daniher seems to be unable to get the best out of his players by creating a game plan around them, that's whyhe always looks for other clubs tactics and model's ours on theirs.
  12. Look, I love the big bloke, he's our captain but let's not overlook the obvious. So far this is Neitz' worst season ever, but I agree that he won't get dropped though, just not for the reasons you're saying. He won't get dropped because we have no one else to play his position. Daniher has had 10 years but he's failed to come up with a replacement for him.
  13. I heard that as well, he could be a couple of weeks away and considering our current position there is no point in risking him by bringing him back too early.
  14. I honestly can't see us winning next week if we play the same brand of footy as we did against the Eagles.
  15. Do you mean Kruezer?
  16. We also need a fast elite midfielder.
  17. Good point, he does seem to possess some skills which appear to be superior than Miller's for instance. Miller is a lead/mark/handball type and the opposition knows this which makes it very easy to beat him. Newton seems to be a little more agile and his contested marking is better. But as CB has already stated what's the worst thing that could happen if we try him? We're already 0-8.
  18. He's in my fantasyfooty team
  19. Agreed but it's better than playing him with Sandy. The facts remain that apart from Neitz we don't have any key forwards who have shown that they're capable of playing well at AFL level over a long period of time, Newton is the one on the list we haven't tried and his form for Sandy of late has been not bad. Now considering we're now 0-8 I think we can afford to experiment with a couple of different things instead of just having Neitz at FF, Miller at CHF with Robo trying to take mark of the year everytime the ball goes near him.
  20. Jaded, good points, you make sense with a valid reason of why not to play him. To those that know his game better than I how would he go playing in defense?
  21. I feel sorry for Kerr because he'll probably get a week or two for it. After watching the reply it was a little reckless but there wasn't much malicious intent and he made sure Bruce was ok immediately afterwards. Having said that if it was Pickett or Moloney then everyone would be screaming for his blood.
  22. Ok, can anyone now give me a good reason why Newton should continue with Sandringham and not play for Melbourne? Points in favour I believe are that 1 - His form is just as good as any Melbourne listed player to play with Sandringham this year 2 - We have no key forwards in Melbourne that have any form at all. 3 - At this stage no other Melbourne player looks anywhere near to be able to replace Neitz as our only true key forward I thought it was worthy of a thread because over the last couple of weeks there has been alot of support to leave him with Sandy for alot longer, now I really don't see that we have a choice but to play him because of his form and the fact that we no one else. Thoughts?
  23. At the moment he is our most dangerous forward but I really like his inside work up the ground. In an ideal world I'd like to see him play as an attacking midfielder.
  24. He used to study at Rusden which later became deakin uni (since then it's closed down) and my dad used to work there as well. Had a reputation of being an arrogant [censored], during his time with us he picked up the nickname 'Urinator' (Wayne Johnston was called the dominator) for a rather sleazy off field incident. In my opinion the man has no class, he really should have played for Collingwood with the other ferals.
  25. Both will struggle in finals pressure football.
