  1. If we were to finish on the bottom and have first pick in the pre-seson draft.....
  2. There you go...... <_<
  3. I believe that's he's been investigated for that as well, not sure of the outcome though.
  4. It will be either Bizzell or Pickett, no idea which one though.
  5. Congratulations on your first post tazzie! TJ is a great player when on song, hopefully he can continue with the form he showed on the weekend!
  6. Well, Freo are playing in Geelong this weekend so I presume they'll probably stay in Melbourne the night before the game so the article is 100% correct.
  7. I coudn't barrack for Melbourne with Sheedy as our coach
  8. There's 'playing your youngsters' and then there's 'playing your youngsters.' I'm not suggesting we rest Neitz, White, McDonald and Yze for the rest of the year, but I think playing some of the older guys who obviously aren't up to it is a waste, especially if they're taking up a spot of a promising kid. For example, having Ward and Brown in the same team when Chris Johnson has been overlooked is crazy in my eyes (perhaps I'm not an AFL coach for good reason....). Same goes for playing Holland. I don't think the Richmond one is a good example because Gasper has been passed it for quite awhile, it's amazing that right up until he retired the rest of the footy world were calling him an over the hill hack. There current predicament has nothing to do with the decisions they've made this year. Daniher is in for a hiding no matter what he does now, he can't win.
  9. Our season is not over, we have alot left to achieve this year but it now has nothing to do with winning games.
  10. I disagree with the Richmond analogy, they're in the position where they are now because of poor recruiting over many years. The Bulldogs finished last a couple of years ago and picked up Cooney and Griffen, do you think how they played that season has any impact on how well they played on the weekend? Absolutely none at all. The facts are that we have some major problems with out list but we've got an opportunity to fix some of them this year. We also have the chance to get some more game time into some of our developing kids, something that teams challenging for a flag don't have the luxury of. Now is the time to be smart and play for the future, not for the now.
  11. This is the dilemma we're facing, key forwards. Basically other than Neitz we don't have a true marking forward. Miller - We all know his limitations. He is capable of the long lead, mark and then handball, but that's about it. Dunn - In another thread there is a discussion about how good it is to play him on the wing because of his lack of marking skills, not a good thing if you want a CHF Bate - Has played well, still more of a marking midifelder though. Perhaps in time he could become a permanent CHF but his skills are probably suited to other areas Newton - Who knows what this kid is capable of, suggest giving him a go as some players perform better on the big stage Rivers - Our only true key defender, needed in the backline
  12. Now is the time to look for the future and it's sad but players like Brown, Ward, Holland and Bizzell aren't our future. It's time to give some of the younger guys who are borderline selection more of a go like CJ and Warnock, and much to the frustration of some here I'd play Newton and Buckley as well. Give them a taste of the big time so we can see where they're really at. Out: Brown, Ward, Holland In: Newton, C.Johnson, Buckley Obviously injuries may impact this.
  13. Good to hear
  14. On Brad Miller, anyone who reads my posts knows what I think of him, basically I don't think he's up to it, HOWEVER, he is the only one on our list who even resembles a CHF so he MUST be retained.
  15. We have a group of players who are too good for VFL level but just aren't premiership quality, unfortunately they represent alot of our depth. The players that we need to make some hard decisions on are: D.Ward - Honest goer but poor disposal often results in turn overs N.Brown - Love the bloke, but I just think the game has gone past him. C.Bizzell - Can't see him resurrecting his career now. B.Pickett - He needs to improve his fitness, saw the rumour about him on Demonology, not sure if true or not. R.Ferguson - He looks like he should make a good defender but for some reason he doesn't deliver Warnock - Keep playing him this year so we can see what he's capable of, although other delistings will probably save him. B.Holland - Jaded said it all P.Wheatley - Been in the sytem for along time without ever really consolidating his spot. M.Jamar - Looked the goods but hasn't come on as expected, I can see Neaves overtake him very quickly. H.Neville - If he's still playign for Sandy's 2nd's at the end of the year he is gone. Let's face it, we are not going to play finals this year, and finishing 9th or 10th with around 10 or 11 wins would be the absolute worst thing that could happen. We're better off either giving some of the young blokes more exposure to AFL footy or finding out once and for all if some of our borderline players are up to it, eg Ferguson and Warnock. We're obviously still hamstrung by injuries so that will affect us with who we can play but if the rumour is true about Pickett then I'd promote Neaves straight away and give him half a season to see what he's capable of. Newtonand Buckley are two more that I'd liek to have a look at fairly soon.
  16. Agree with the comment about his marking but sadly for us we desperately need some in form marking forwards.
  17. There is one alternative for CHF and that's Matt Kruezer
  18. Completely? Some players don't have to play consistently good football with Sandy to get a game but others do.
  19. So, your argument is that it's ok to play Frawley immediately and not Newton because we desperately need a key defender. Haven't we just discovered that without Neitz we have no key forwards so by going by your reasoning Newton should have already been playing..... I understand what you're trying to say and I believe that Frawley should slip into the team as quickly as we can get him in, i'm not saying you're wrong there. I just think that we have some major issues in other areas and not just defence and key forwards is a pretty main one. Miller is a good average player, at best, and it's rare that teams win Grand Finals with those types of forwards.
  20. Just remind me to post every day so mine doesn't get deleted
  21. It's not just about kicking it long, it's not as simple as that, there's a whole lot of other variables that have to work for that style of game plan to work. For example, the forwards and midfielders need to work hard to give our KPP's players enough space to lead and give them a target to kick long to, not just to a pack of players standing in front of goal. That's why it makes me laugh when people can the 'kick it long' style of play, it's just not the simple.
  22. Quick, put a halt on new members
  23. The way I see it is that Bartram is a 'run-with', negating type and Petterd is currently playing a rebounding defender with classy disposal, so I don't think they're competing with each other. Bartram would be competing with players like Godfrey while Petterd is competing with guys like Ward, Wheatley, CJ and Brown.
  24. Well done Petterd, and Jones must consider himself very unlucky but i'm sure his nomination won't be far away.
  25. True, I reckon he moves like a younger Tingay as well. If he bulks up well he could become a very damaging impact style of player just like Tingay too. There's alot to like about the kid
