Definitely a good start - they packed away the right colour shorts this time!

The sad part about this is that knowing some Port Adelaide supporters it's true. They wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

12 Outsiders for the Melbourne Coaching post
Chelly replied to The Red Fox's topic in Melbourne Demons
Number 13 Gus Hiddink - Has an established record as a quality football coach. Could be somewhat expensive however. -
Not bad CHAMP but I've been there and the guy who does the bar is a lot more cool than the bartender in your picture. If you could add a beard and a pony tail, you'd probably get a better effect!

demonfanjezza - it's not the same person who writes the previews and reviews every week.

Does this mean Cousins' comeback has been put on ice?

We all know Juice is going to mke a fine kpp but it's worth looking at this kid who booted 14 in the SANFL at the weekend - http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...7-24390,00.html "DANIEL who? If SANFL fans were unsure of who Central District forward Daniel Havelberg was before yesterday, they aren't now after the 19-year-old booted an amazing 14.1 in the Bulldogs' 158-point rout of Norwood at Elizabeth."

Must be different to his predecessor because if he's a clone of The Reverend he'll be on his bike in 9 week's time. Will persist with young players who are our future e.g this week's ins to include Buckley, Dunn, Frawley, Garland, C. Johnson and Miller. Won't be afraid of some losses including big ones e.g in Neil Craig's period as caretaker the Crows were flogged by well over 100 points against Brisbane but the by the following year they were able to turn the tables.

There are far too many others ahead of him in the queue on the way out anyway. I think it will be refreshing for Yze and many of the others to have a different person in control of the club and it all adds up to some exciting times ahead.

I don't believe he was impressed - AKER: COACHES PAID TO MAKE BIG DECISIONS. Questions whether the leadership group has too much power. Fast-forward to 2006 and I again found myself sitting in front of Daniher. This time, though, he was with Chris Fagan, the Demons' football operations manager, and we were talking about where I would play in 2007. We talked about lots of stuff, but what amazed me most about that meeting was how they passed power to the club's player leadership group. Neale said if I wanted to join he would ask the leadership group if they wanted me. I said that I liked player empowerment -- I think it is an important part of the growth of groups -- but that on the flip side I thought it was the coach who should carry the most weight when decisions like this were made. Yes? No? Many leadership models have the boss on the same level as the rest of the group until a crucial decision has to be made. I understand that you would consult your leadership group. Absolutely, no problem there. But why would you defer a big decision like this to them? The whole thing left me a little uncomfortable and when I left that meeting, I knew Melbourne wasn't for me. I'm not questioning the individuals who make up the club's leadership group but I reckon he's right about the coach being the ultimate power at the club.

Hells Angels Press Release re Alan Didak After revelations that members were out with Alan Didak, the Hells Angels Board has released a statement claiming that they had no knowledge that their members were mixing with Collingwood players and they will be launching a full investigation to find and suspend the members concerned. "It is simply unacceptable and stupid behaviour for our members to be associating with these types of people. Our members are role models and should know better."
-
Well, that makes a certainty of it. If he has OP he's bound for Melbourne!
-
IMO the only smart arses are the people who won't select a young kid who seems to be firing every week at Sandringham and they do select a bloke whose been out injured for three weeks and clearly not ready to come back.
-
Better still, leave the team unchanged every week to guarantee a priority draft pick.

"Not enough Tasmanians cherish wearing The Map." - Tasmanian state coach Daryn Cresswell after his side's 11-point loss to Queensland under lights at Aurora Stadium last night.

Good for you Sally!

I'll tell you what. It's also very sweet being in Adelaide on a weekend when both their teams have lost to clubs from Melbourne. The fans of both Adelaide teams are walking around like stunned mullets at the moment!

The Rubbish Hands in the back Rule, Costs a win
Chelly replied to Deano74's topic in Melbourne Demons
I saw an unbelievable umpiring decision yesterday in the first 15 seconds of the Brisbane Collingwood game. Lockyer got the ball and was tackled and dispossesed by #7 of Brisbane. The momentum of the tackle saw the Brisbane player ending up on Lockyer's back. Both commentators (one of them was Jason Dunstall?) said "great tackle" and the umpire called "play on". Eat your heart out James McDonald! -
Overstated Jamar's importance to the team.

... the interstate sides go into liquidation.

So you were impressed with Newton?

Wish we were managed as poorly and our team performed like theirs does. Fact of the matter is that sledging has always been part of the game. Agreed, the you get rid of the racism but the statements made by Selwood were so ridiculous that Headland is a fool for getting sucked in by that sort of thing. Most footballers would laugh it off.

You would have to go back to about 1987 I reckon.
