  1. Unlikely that we would have the goods to deal with Port Adelaide for pick #4 but there would be a few prospects for pick # 22 which might still be a valuable selection for us.
  2. No brainer, straight swap Boyle for Carroll. Carroll would flourish in the Hawthorn defence while we probably need someone to take a key forward spot until Jack Watts (or which ever young KPP we draft) is ready. A minor win win for both clubs.
  3. You're kidding right? Have you been a regular at Subiaco's games over the past two years?
  4. In the end it was an easy win for Subiaco which dominated the second half to win 22.16 (148) to 14.7 (91). It can't be said that any of the young talent on show starred but, at least they got some experience on the big stage in front of a crowd of over 23,000 people.
  5. Phantom drafts are pretty meaningless unless we know the final draft order. I reckon there might be one or two trades that affect that order and Hawthorn might suggest that they still might end up with pick 16 and not Geelong.
  6. I have a feeling it won't come to that. Either we will indicate that we're going to take him or he will hold off nominating till next year.
  7. A beautiful pass from Daniel Rich to Subi full forward Brad Smith has just put Subiaco in front by 2 points. Half time its Subiaco 9.9.63 to 9.5.59. Swans had a big lead at around the 20 minute mark but the Lions kicked the last 4 goals of the quarter to put themselves in front.
  8. Cameron Bruce finished 5th in both the Demonland and the Demonology awards. Good judgement!
  9. The whole thing smells like a ploy to strengthen his hand in contract negotiations. He won't leave Sydney and won't play for us.
  10. Late in the first quarter of the 2008 WAFL grand final, Swan Districts lead by 3 goals - Naitanui doing well, getting hitouts laying tackles (including a ripper on Philthy Phil Read) and has kicked a goal. Update: Quarter time Swans 6.3.39 to Subiaco 3.4.22.
  11. Here, here. Spencer has one thing that Warnock doesn't have and that's sheer aggression at the football. You can't buy that - not even for 400k pa
  12. The former. Bentley played 5 games this year for a total of 21 while Bell played 18 this year (63) and was also a regular last year. Whilst games played aren't the perfect criteria for determining the relative worth of players, they're generally considered better than the subjective conclusion that you reached. I think Bell's value on the market would be greater than Bentleys and we can do better than a straight swap. Farren Ray would be a good aquisition as he adds some much needed pace. Tenace is a dud.
  13. To [censored] off us Demon fans.
  14. If Thorp agrees to the trade then the two clubs can still arrange one.
  15. 1. Melbourne 2. West Coast 3. Fremantle 4. Port Adelaide 5. Essendon 6. Carlton 7. Brisbane 8. Richmond 9. North Melbourne 10. Adelaide 11. Collingwood 12. Sydney 13. ? 14. ? 15. ? 16. ? 17. Melbourne 18. West Coast 19. Melbourne 20. West Coast
  16. What's he done since being delisted?
  17. He might only be an 18 year old kid playing in his first WAFL grand final next week but, according to the West Australian newspaper, the kid has already played a part in the downfall of WA's ruling state Labor government - LIBS TO GOVERN AFTER GAINING SUPPORT OF NATS Surely we have to draft him now?
  18. Agreed. At that astronomical cost I would like to think we could do a lot better. There are a few young ruckmen avaiable in the draft who inspire me as much as Warnock, even young Spencer on our rookie list shows more strength and aggression.
  19. Team Song: I, I who am nothing I, I who am no one Must bore you, but you should know I'm just a no one, with nothing to give you but oh ... I ...
  20. straight swap to the dockers for Murphy would be the deal meanwhile in the same article Caro says "and, despite last month's impressive fund-raising campaign which eradicated $3 million of debt, the Demons will lose more than $1 million after a tumultuous political scenario during which two chief executives were sacked and the board overthrown by Brownlow medallist Jim Stynes". that's a good result since it was supposed to be $2m when the old board packed it in!

or any1 else who wore the # 13 4 that matter!
  22. Embarrassing!
  23. I would have thought in view of the recent past record of our CEO's that it was necessary for the club chairman to be looking over his shoulders from time to time. Surely, the CEO should be accountable and his work subject to scrutiny? Just imagine if someone had been looking over Ray Ellis' shoulders or even Harris for that matter. We might have gotten a lot more done at a lot less cost to the club.
  24. There are a few possibilities here with a wide range of implications. He could be injured and went back home in anticipation of resuming when the pre season starts or he could have become disenchanted with being in Melbourne and went home never to return (perhaps to sign on with GC17) or he could have just moved house. He looked very promising but I wonder if all of the talk about getting Robert Warnock or the fact that he was being shunted backwards and forwards between Sandy ones and twos might have put him off. Then again, it could be personal or family reasons or imply a misunderstanding in the way the whole thing was reported. It would be nice if the club issued some sort of statement to clarify the position.
  25. Up until now its all been about money and our lack of it. I don't know if this scholarship has much more legs in it given the likelihood of a ew team from West Sydney, but it will be interesting to see if Melbourne gives it a go now that half the debt has been wiped off.
