  1. AMW more suited. Gets much more of the ball and more of an in and under player. Both got pace.
  2. Makes it even more easy to see quite a few delistings at the end of next year. Could be as many as 7 not counting rookies.
  3. It won't be in my time, but just purely on population and footy interest there will be at least 4 teams in S.A., NSW, W.A. and Qld. 2 in Tas and NT. Probably with an East and West conference similar to USA. A country of 50 Mil would support that.
  4. AMW is the pick of them I think
  5. They tried Jefferson there a few times. Maybe if he doesn't come up as a forward, that cold happen. I think Adams is a way off in his development as he missed the whole first year with injury.
  6. The crows want ANB but they don't need him. I can't see us getting very high picks for him.
  7. I think you are right. No 1 ruckmen are 207cm size now and that will only increase. Will is listed at 199 so it's asking a lot to give away 8cm or more.
  8. I just hope chandler over summer learns how to do a sharp turn instead of a wide arc and becomes more instinctive about giving the ball off. Even just a flick on rather than always taking possession. He could be so much better.
  9. Viney and ANB have been the only successful small mids in the last 10 years. Jordan was the last we let go. Laurie and Spargo are in and out of the side and I'd say White is the best midfielder at Casey ahead of other MFC listed players. Doesn't mean Spargo and Laurie won't become permanent but not so far.
  10. just hope they don't pick another small sized midfielder. We keep them for 3 years and then send them off - it's a waste.
  11. I can see light at the end of the tunnel with the midfield. You can't include Tracc in next years midfield for obvious reasons but given that we pick up another kid like Windsor as a midfielder in the draft (each year there are 2 or 3 midfielders who make a first year impact). Yze looks like a good midfield prospect as well. McVee is not a successful midfielder this year because of lack of bulk, but a taller midfielder with evasive skills is definitely what we need, so hopefully he puts some weight on. Clarrie going to Red Bull will make a huge difference if he regains the previous 4 years effectiveness. If Rivers can get more of the ball and improve his disposal, he could be anything. Viney was probably playing injured last night, but his previous games have been excellent. Salem has been picking up 20 plus possessions each week and fills that role of half back/midfielder. Young Brown likewise could put some weight on as he has the rest of the requisites. At present we do not have the couple of players picking up 30 poseesions a game, but I see the opportunity.
  12. Agree. He'll make a good average player, and that's not unkind as you need that type to fill gaps. But you need that x factor to be really good if you don't have height or pace. At he extreme end a guy like Caleb Daniel got a lot of the ball and never missed targets although age has caught up with that. And because of that you don't get a lot of time to show you have it, simply because you are competing with a lot of similar types. I hope he develops something special next year.
  13. how does amw not get a game. 35 touches last week
  14. But you'd guess 3 of them might not be there. So say 7 out of 45. I think only 5 would get regular games. Maybe I'm wrong
  15. The 2024 list has been talked about The 2025 list only has 2 certainties to go But the 2026 list only has 2 that I would say are certain to get contracts extended. Either through age or failure to meet expectations of improvement (doesn't mean they won't improve by then).
  16. A big bodied midfielder we can build a midfield around if he gets enough of the ball 190cm at 17yrs will probably increase as well. Will be interesting to see what his running capacity is in agility and time trial.
  17. Our 13 goals was ok and we are missing a midfield and some ruckmen, but when a side kicks 27 goals against you and your 2 tall defenders Schache 12 Adams 9 only get it a megre amount of times, whilst AMW has 35 possessions it's embarassing.
  18. Is he a solidly built man like May or Hibberd or on the thin side like schache?
  19. I dont know if its still an issue but a couple of months ago at a sportsmans night with Max he said he was travelling to Donald to the groin injury Guru that treats those injuries. Sounds like a whole lot of problems
  20. you're right He's 199 Definitely not tall enough for a ruckman.
  21. Couldn't agree more The Dogs have 5 guys around that 200cm or more and we had one who is our ruckman. AMW was taking Ugle Hagen at times??? and although he did well it was a ridiculous match up. I wish KC could tell us why they won't try Verrall (our only other 200cm plus player) in a key position. Its a waste of time for him getting 5 hit outs and 3 or 4 possessions. He's only going to learn in a set position where he can pick up multiple possessions and learn to intercept marks.
  22. Obviously not all this game but they need to get games into Tholstrup and Howes. Verrall and Jefferson also need a taste as both will be getting games next year. Sestan needs to get a game to see how he goes. Hope he gets another year. No point recycling Hunter Brown Billings Schache and Thomlinson, other than to give them a send off.
  23. Agree with the slow midfield. They are all very good players but..... Rivers adds a bit and Kozzie (but he's small for a permanent midfielder). But we've had that problem for years and been able to get around it. Its partly the reason Max gets 90% hit outs but we only get half the clearances. And when we don't have Max like last week it shows up more. But when it's wet our stronger bodied midfielders win out.
  24. I really like him too. But saying that I think he is a bit short to become a top of the line ruckman. He could easily become a future CHB, especially as our key defenders are nearing the end of their careers.
  25. Was anybody else surprised to see AMW taken off for Woewoden AMW is a down under, inside defender with a rugby background perfect for those conditions and been playing well. Woewodin is not soft but is more an outside defender like Bowey and McVee. I thought it unbalanced us a bit.
