Vale Ronald Dale Barassi - Rest in Peace
Foundation Heroes have been invited to register for the event via Ticketek. You are then granted a GA ticket to the ground via Gate 2. No reserved seating, but MFC members are encouarged to sit in Bay M45. I assume the same applies to members generally and the relevant links are on the MFC website.

Dees win $1million McClelland Trophy
A comfortable win for us at windy old Casey. Come on Saints!

Training Ground?
Maybe a bit harsh on Porz - he was just put on the Board just last month. Rennick has been on since October 2020. Roffey has been on the Board since 2013 and has chaired the Board's Facilities Working Group since 2019.

Training Ground?
Is the prospect of being in the MCG precinct officially dead? If so, it would be nice for members to know that. Re Caulfield - are we just at the feasibility stage? Does anyone know? That's where we were re Jolimont 5 years ago...... My understanding is that the Future Fund is locked away - not to be used for any new facility.

Can we still use pick 42?
I agree. He showed some real promise particularly in that practice match against the Saints earlier this year.

2023 List and Contract Details
Future second given for McAdam - but I noticed you have adjusted that in your draft picks. Thanks for all the work.

2023 GRAND FINAL
I agree. I hope it shows that you can love AFL, but still acknowledge how amazing that Panthers/Broncos game was. I found the commentary interesting around players who had already signed with competing clubs for next year. We haven't got to that stage yet - wonder how it will go down when it does arrive.....
- Christian Petracca a chance to win the 2023 Brownlow Medal?

Yze replacement
Ollie fan won't be happy - you're on the wrong thread.

Yze replacement
Fair enough - I will also pass your message onto rpfc who posted on this thread: Like with Board appointments, FMD I am glad fans have little say with appointing Yze’s replacement. By and large - NFI.

2023 GRAND FINAL
You will have to be there in person to get the answer. Last year, they did not stream the Q & A session.

Yze replacement
My goodness, you are fired up, late on a Sunday night. But your fundamental point is that the "Great and the Good" shall choose our Board, and those deplorable members should hand over their dosh; shout their lungs out, but otherwise stay well away. Not how a members' Club should work my friend.

Yze replacement
So how are those Board appointments going? Some being sued for defamation, some not? Internecine squabbles - hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal costs. Lost a case in the Supreme Court. Lost a costs request in Perth? The Club belongs to its members - let them choose the Board rather than the Putinesque way it is done at the moment.

2023 GRAND FINAL
No luck as AFL Gold Member (non-competing of course). All AFL tickets sold out.

Is our time at the top done?
I would have hoped that the Demon Army would get at least one table free of charge given the efforts you put in?

Is our time at the top done?
Our B&F is on Friday 6 October - maybe then? There will be loads of speeches ....

Letter to members - from Kate Roffey
It would be best to have a number of members nominate - hopefully members with a range of skills. It would also be better if members received a direct email advising them of the retirements and who, currently on the Board) is required to run this year. I believe that is Brad Green this year, but we have not been advised formally of that. Kate's letter advised of the two retirements (at the end of the season - is that now?) , but then also advises us that their replacements have already been 'welcomed to the Board'. So they have been appointed by the Board, not the members. The next comment is normally - "if you don't like it or them you can run against them". It's a shame that it comes to that rather than going to members first.

Letter to members - from Kate Roffey
'Under the Melbourne Football Club Constitution, nominations for election as a director generally close at least 30 days prior to the date of the AGM each year. The 2022/23 AGM is proposed to be held in December 2023. It is likely that the call for nominations for the board will be published on this page in mid October 2023.' Above is from the Club's Governance Page. Fire up Demonlanders - if you want positive change, start at the top!

Jimmy Munro retires from VFL
"Heart and Soul" just rolls off the tongue re Jimmy. What a warrior! Hopefully Whitey stays goes again to provide continuing leadership at Casey.
-
Is our time at the top done?
Goody is not being sued. The former Pres is suing four of the current directors, although the events around the period end 2020/beginning 2021 seem to be relevant to the case.

Chair ban at AFLW (now overturned)
Well done Katrina! Terrific result!

Chair ban at AFLW (now overturned)
Frisbees with arms and legs attached?

Chair ban at AFLW (now overturned)
A ridiculous decision by the AFL Katrina - how many do we expect at Casey on Saturday afternoon - 2 or 3,000? And there is very limited alternative seating.

TICKETING: SF vs Carlton
AFL Gold member - Supporting Club participating - and yet standing room only - unbelievable!
