  1. "I'm in it and I'm in it for the long haul"
  2. "strong support, an ability to keep calm"
  3. stuie your ability to read an interview is as hollow as the conclusion you draw.
  4. It's not like we're being asked to fork out another $1000. All we are being asked to do is park the car, walk over to the training facility, gather together and have a united voice in support. We're just saying "we're here to help you get through this"... more importantly we are making a statement to the wider AFL fraternity, "We will never quit!" How often do you get the opportunity to make that statement in a public way?
  5. What did Barassi do in that incident? He sent a message that (his)society would not meekly stand by and allow a woman to be victimised. He stood up and made a statement. I guess that is how he played his football. We can't ask our young men to stand up if we aren't prepared to make a stand on their behalf.
  6. By the way, Robbie doesn't appear in my avatar, though he is a welcome influence at anything MFC. My crew are Barass, Neita and Dicko.
  7. rjay, tell that to the young p*&%# that Barassi took on after the altercation with the woman outside the restaurant.
  8. I think it imperitive that we get former greats along to training this week as well. I'd like to start with the three that appear on my avatar. Just need to know when and where and I will make it my business to invite them.
  9. By the way, I intend keeping this thread high on the board until 200 put their hands up!
  10. Wizza, I just forwarded that quote to my three children. No more apologising to our kids for leading them into the MFC... use defeat to fuel success.
  11. There must be a way to make this idea happen. The players need to know we will never quit! They need something left-field to raise their spirits and their self-belief. This concept of Wizza's is something that is achievable from a supporter point of view. We can turn the tide with a statement of Unity in our darkest hour. All it needs is 200 to put their hands up, to turn up and be very vocal about why we are there.
  12. Good post Wizza. It would be amazing if we could get 200 hard core SUPPORTERS to training this week, for all the reasons you have outlined. Count me in! Contact MFC to find out the best session to attend then get the word out.
  13. He won't need 12 weeks. The team will put this 'prophets of doom' talk to bed in six!
  14. Neeld is far more Media savvy than some here give him credit for. I pulled into the car wash just as the SEN interview went to air. I was already running a little late, but I sat there and focused on the interview. Neeld, once again, gave the impression of a true professional who is pleased with the restructure of the team, pleased with the football department for enabling us to select close to best 22 (25) and quietly confident that the results will come. He is an impressive leader and I'm backing him... end of story!
  15. I've noted that quite a few long kickers were on the skinny side... Robert Flower, Michael Tuck etc. I think this is the result of timing/co-ordination and extension (having a longer follow through). So, long kicking is not solely the demain of strong quads, though I acknowledge this can be a plus.
  16. Thanks for the updates, was sweating on info on our long termers after Saturday's hit out. Good to hear Clark and Dawes are up and about.
  17. No Dazzle, didn't notice him. He was on their team sheet, No 27 I think.
  18. Yes I forgot Dunn He's in take out Nicho or Jetta for me
  19. Round 1 team after today B: Jetta Frawley Garland HB: Watts Gillies Nicholson C Blease Grimes Toumpas HF Howe Dawes Sylvia F Byrnes Clark Davey Foll Jamar Jones Viney Inter: Trengove McKenzie Rodan Sellar
  20. 13 is Dave DeAraugo. Other Casey players to impress were 6 Daniel Nichols, 21 Michael Boland, 1 Kyle (the heart) Matthews and 14 Evan Panozza
  21. Don't worry Bush Demon, when we click on them we get the full shot
  22. Thanks for the pics Bush Demon... can you believe, I never thought to take one... stupid!
  23. Final word on Mitch Clark... he is very aggressive in his attack on ball and opposition. This is a quality we have lacked. Clark borders on intimidating and others walk taller when he is around. No wonder Neeld backs him in for round 1. As for Casey, in 2013 they need MFC. I look forward to Casey v Port when Spencer, Strauss, MacDonald, Evans, Barry, Tapscott, Gawn, Davis and Bail are added to their ranks.
  24. Home now, only 40 minutes from Casey car park to Kew petrol station. So a trip to Casey is well worth the effort if you have access to Eastlink. I reckon we can play Mitch round 1. He won't be as hot as he was at beginning of 2012 but he will contest at 100% and will enjoy Byrnes, Sylvia, and Howe being around him. Blease looked like Blease normally does. If the coach wants him he will play. Kent wasn't in enough, which was disappointing to me. Trengove showed his class early and could play round 1. Viney is a lock. McKenzie was his normal self, scrappy but a great competitor. I don't think anyone else from today was in the frame. So, all in all the day panned out exactly as Neeld would have hoped... unless someone registers a problem after cooling off!
