  1. Curry n Beer, you have failed to see development in Blease. That was his best game for the club to date because he played well in the second half... running the game out. He had more involvements than in any game to date (not just a flashy goal here and there). There were also numerous occasions when he put himself in good position to receive and go but team mates chose to ignore him. Yes, he blazed away on a few occasions bu tso does Milne. The development in Blease has been a highlight of the final month of the season... you just can't see it. Stick around!
  2. Total disrespect for Green, the occasion and MFC... If we take it on the chin we deserve to lose our club!!!!
  3. I went with my 17yo son. We wanted to send Greeny off with full support. We would have been there anyway. It's a father and son thing. This is the first time he drove into the ground and home again. You could say he is now taking his old man to the footy. I'm pleased that he sticks! After Robbo's quiz question about how many flags MFC won in the 50's, I caught him looking up to that part of the stand that lists our premierships... poor bastard has never witnessed one (I have... 1964). I did notice as we watched the third quarter capitulation, that he swears a lot more than he ever used to... The only time his old man swears is at the footy...
  4. Martin is worth a lot to other clubs who are struggling for big-man stock. He was playing very good football before this most recent foot injury. I would like to keep him, but he may be a means to landing a much sought after and expensive gun! Can't lose either way!
  5. Jamar almost done??? I thought he was eased back very nicely through Scorps yesterday, thank you very much! Long rests but played out four quarters and no sign of calf injury. He took control of the stoppages whenever he came on, had more and more influence as the game wore on. Will be back for final round. Jamar is a weapon because he is as strong as an ox and evey opposition ruckman knows it... He gets man-handled at every ruck contest but has the smarts and is rarely beaten to the ball. Needs a smarter mid-field around him and we will start to dominate... Only West Coast ahead of us in my opinion.
  6. I don't recall reading anywhere that Liam was drunk... enlighten me!
  7. I found it as excrutiating as everyone who watched. I would like to comfort myself by making a few observations that aren't new, simply confirmed. Spencer doesn't give us much Petterd is a spent force Howe is slipping in output Martin didn't follow up on last weeks good game Frawley continues to be middle of the road in 2012 Sylvia busted a gut trying to lift us Lack of poise/confidence across the list (the losing culture) Green was very good in 1st, faded and it's time! McDonald is our best backman these days Bail kept coming Blease is a one trick pony, but its a good trick! Jones is in struggle town, worn down to previous mistakes Magner is making too many mistakes for a man who was on a mission Couch faded badly We are going to be a bottom four side for a few years yet
  8. sometimes, when you think you've come up with a good idea, you need to consider the liklihood of it actually happening!
  9. For the short-sighted.... These are the qualities, virtues and abilities JT has over TS LOYALTY Contested Marking Tackling Aggression Leadership Public Speaking Attractiveness to Women Come to think of it, these are all the things bluey lacks!
  10. bluey, do you ever visit the MFC site? No, I suppose only MFC supporters go there. Anyway, if you had, you would note that Trengove is in the top three for disposals and second for tackles so far in 2012. You might like to check similar categories for TS over at the Giant's site (at which I am sure you would fit in more comfortably).
  11. Some other HEADline suggestions... "Melb to let Neeld coach Fremantle this week" "Melb signs 10 year deal with Darrell Lea" "Melb to bury Norm Smith curse under MCG drop-in wicket" "Melb to bring back the drop-kick to break the lines"
  12. Martin had 20+ possessions. When was the last time Jamar did that?
  13. For mine, today demonstrated why we didn't take Sheedy. It took us a while to navigate through to Neeld but I think we will be counting our lucky stars as time goes by. Sheeds... eventually [censored] blows back in your face!
  14. Jonesy objected to the way a GWS player thumped Grimes over the line to spoil a mark. I loved it... and congratulate all the Demons who got involved. There should be more of it, a s*&tlo^d of it as we go forward.
  15. I b-o-o-o-o-o-d Scully at every opportunity! It was necessary and it was expected. I told him that he had the makings of a good umpire!!!! When we cheered Macca I told Scully that's what it's all about!!!! However, I doubt I will ever feel the need to boo him again. He is not a great player. He is a good running, link man.... We are probably fortunate they took him off our hands. I wish him a long, mediocre career!
  16. Magner regains his freedom when Batram returns!
  17. Got there nice and early to discover a groundsman spreading a wheelbarrow full of dyed green turf, sand or sawdust around the centre circle.
  18. 6-Rivers 5-McDonald 4-McKenzie 3-Clark 2-Blease 1-Nicholson
