  1. If we can find someone else (whose name rhymes with a drawing instrument) to give Gawn a chop-out, then we can switch Pederson to CHB when needed. Dunn for Garland after his good showing at Casey for the past two outings.
  2. 6 - Jetta 5 - Viney 4 - Tyson 3 - Watts 2 - Stretch 1 - Kennedy
  3. Jack's performance throughout the introduction to the panel was an insight into this young, emerging MFC leader. I saw a side of his personality and skill set that belied the 'bull at the gate' impression he creates on the field. His performance gives me great confidence in the future at MFC if he becomes Captain when Jonesy hangs up the boots!
  4. Ok Django... so you're calling me out! I didn't say Jack was getting as much exposure as Sam... and you obviously missed the segments I referred to. Keep my comments in context... I was giving Jack the thumbs up as a guest. Think about the guest's role on the FS. and while I'm on those two letters, FOR F S, ALLOW YOURSELF TO READ SOMEONE ELSE'S POST WITHOUT FEELING COMPELLED TO MAKE AN ILL-INFORMED CORRECTION!
  5. This is the funniest Footy Show I have seen for some time... and most of the fun has been generated by our Jack! I'm pretty sure that he will become a regular. His comments about Tod's view of young Jack being named as a sex symbol were hilarious and his snippet on sex after a game was, well.. boom boom! Either he has an exceptional writer or he is a natural!
  6. I'm bemused that some on here still don't get what we've got with Tyson! He is only 22 (ANB is 20). Recruiting him is only marginally shaded by the Vince deal, and he has at least six more years with MFC after Bernie retires!
  7. 17 of this 22 played in our win over GWS. Missing from that game are Salem, Vandenberg, Matt Jones (all injured) Frost and Oscar (emergency tomorrow). Replacements are Petracca, Michie, Wagner, Hunt & Stretch. I look at it this way... Petracca for Vandenberg, Stretch for M Jones, Michie for Salem, Wagner for Oscar Mac, Hunt for Frost. Given that it is a twilight game in dewy conditions I don't see why there is such hostility about selection
  8. I'm of the opinion that TMac couldn't get to his designated zone position through injury and not because of tardiness.
  9. Don't be surprised if you find that TMac was carrying an injury on Saturday. Hopefully he is 95-100% fit for the trip north as we need him firing. The other scenario is that he will need to be replaced (not dropped) this weekend.
  10. When asked what my Petracca pass mark would be in his first game I said 15 disposals. He exceeded my pass mark!
  11. Smith OOB on full from 25m. Oscar and Terlich getting mentioned
  12. Broadcast on Essendon VFL Radio Brayshaw was taken to the rooms... still not sure if he will come back on. Oliver doing quite well. ANB, Michie and Garland getting regular possessions. Windy Hill is windy and wet.
  13. 6 - Hogan 5 - Jones 4 - Viney 3 - Tyson 2 - Vince 1 - Pederson
  14. I can only think Petracca for Frost... Oliver to Casey. I like what Frost is bringing, but maybe at Etihad v Saints we need a mid more than a tall. Oliver is a clearance specialist, but the thinking may be give him a less pressured game at Casey before working him back into the team. Gus looked a bit stuffed at times on Sunday, but he still had a lot of deft and important touches inside. Matt Jones would be stiff to be sent to Casey, but selection is now that tight.
  15. 6 - Viney 5 - Gawn 4 - Garlett 3 - Kent 2 - Tyson 1 - McDonald
  16. Dwayne lays claim to the same 'I have played at the highest level and been a success' territory that Matthews, Dunstall and Brereton trade on. I bring up his stats to emphasise how far he fell short of that sort of credibility.
  17. Jack won't have to worry about making the Hawthorn team this year... they will drop out of the top four to be followed by a drop out of the top eight two years down the track!
  18. Anyone who thinks Jack Watts would struggle at a top four team just isn't a credible analyst. Everything I have ever written about Jack is now evident to everyone but the those who are more interested in their profile than the evidence.
  19. Dwayne Russell played 5 seasons at the elite level. He averaged 10 games a season, 14 disposals a game, less than 1 tackle a game and gave away twice as many free kicks as he got... hardly a reason to puff his chest out about!
  20. Dwayne Russell - 50 games - 51 goals Jack Watts - 119 games - 92 goals (Projection for whole career - 227 games - 332 goals - 1 B&F, 3 AA's - 1 Top 3 Brownlow)
  21. Dwayne wouldn't get a game at Hawthorn! Even in his heyday (did he have one?) It becomes obvious in his calls that he gets by on a bloated, hot-air approach to life. Unfortunately, Footyinfotainment now supports this lifestyle. Jack Watts is so much more gifted as a player and as a person that it's probably silly of me to even point these things out in my post! I take it for granted that my long standing site moniker is universally recognized as a parody of Dwayne!
  22. What a lot of people don't get with Tyson is that his boyish good looks camouflage a very tough, competitive and driven individual. It has been noted before that he refuses to give off simply because he is being tackled. He only gives off if he sees a positive option. Quite a few of the frees paid against him could quite easily have the "no prior opportunity" rule applied. He takes the heat. He doesn't mind body contact and he is cool and composed under pressure. He is an accomplished inside mid, who can take a grab, gets some distance by hoof, and has shown he can nail a set shot (although his percentages can improve). All this in a relatively young man who could be a Demon for another decade. Where's the downside?
