  1. Watts just came off after copping one in the face! Seems Ok... have to leave now due to parking Cheers
  2. Just checked with Wagner on the Maroochydore Camp this year. He says four days after Australia Day, so later this year. He also said he'd just come back from there!
  3. Bernie just copped Oliver with a shoulder to the head... young bloke shaking it out, then lays a hard tackle on Spencer
  4. Hibberd is here, not with main group but working hard with rehab
  5. Hannan, Wagner & JKH running repeat 150's with JKH giving Hannan lots of encouragement
  6. Full ground short pass, run on activity now completed. The main group now split up into 3 groups, rotating through varied activities... evasive handball, forward leading against limited defenders etc
  7. Haven't noticed Hogan, Kent or Hibberd. Salem looks fine from here
  8. Main group hasn't appeared yet... may be on some other program
  9. Others in rehab, King, JKH, Filipovic, Wagner, ANB
  10. Got here a little early, had a chat to Dom Tyson. He is waiting on scans on his right knee. Doesn't know the outcome yet. Hopes that he has enough in the bank to make round 1 if the scans are positive. He is just walking laps this morning
  11. I arrived at 10:00am and took up position on the fence where the players rested before rejoining the action. For that reason quite a bit of what was happening onfield was blocked, but the conversation of the resting players was a real insight to their focus and commitment to the drill. Too much to mention in detail but Gawn, Lewis, Watts and Jones were central to giving feedback and adjusting the tactics to be more competitive. I snapped away with my iPhone, being so close, and I will try to post a few here. In general, the training session was grueling in the already balmy atmosphere. There were many turnovers but I put that down to the growing awareness and application of defensive skills and the clear understanding of the gameplan. The players were going at full pace and the run and spread was exceptional. There were so many standout moments by the regular stars that I will only make mention of those that are on the rise. Oliver is going to take the next step in 2017. In one tackle routine he took on Max, who had no hesitation in thrusting a forearm in Clarrie's face. Oliver hung on like a terrier and Max continued to roughhouse him. Oliver seemed a little pizzed off with this treatment, but he won't take a backward step! Salem is back to his 'smooth-as-silk' best. Brayshaw is set for 22 games plus finals! Petracca will live up to the promise. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by Johnstone's belief, skill and forward pressure. Oscar is looking sharp, more defined and more confident.
  12. Thanks for the reports deevotees! Does anyone know if we are headed to Maroochydore in January?
  13. I filmed Hogan at goal kicking practice about 10 days back. IPhone from about 30 metres so not that clear, but the run up was definitely smother. I got the impression that he had been working at it. Under actual game day stress he might revert to his old ways, however, I reckon he and a coach or two have had a crack at simplifying it
  14. The young Make A Wish supporter was befriended by Jack Viney late in the picture and was surrounded by cameramen, so expect to see some News reports this evening. Jack arm-wrestled the kid and then hauled him up on his shoulders. On Weiderman, yes he is still lightly built by AFL standards, but athleticism is excellent. He is busting a gut during training and will take another step in 2017, however, I don't expect him to play every game, 10 or 12 would be more likely. I saw Lewis get really down on himself for not hitting a leading target on his right foot. He immediately sent a sizzling pass with his left at the next opportunity. Watching Goody and Macca coaching together was encouraging, to say the least. Goodwin is very clear in communicating what he wants / expects from the group. Macca keeps working away at the finer detail... "arch your back and kick through the ball, Frosty, don't just caress it... Save that for Sunday nights!"

  16. Yes, the intensity was good. Kent collected Kennedy, front on, at one stage and left him a bit groggy. Someone brought Wattsy down pretty hard on the boundary, couldn't see who it was. Had a chat to Hannan, who is excited about coming to the club and is impressed by the list and the coaches.
  17. T Smith, Kielty, Wagner & Johnstone now doing repeat 200s now with Crossy
  18. T Smith is quicker than I expected, looks very fit and keen to establish himself
