  1. We have no problem being their God.
  2. “Nat is clearly a very demanding leader at times and certainly knows what he wants. We love that about him. We really respect that,” Mundy said. It's my personal opinion that Fyfe is the kind of player and person that would want to be the captain of a football club, it's well documented that He and Mundy were competing for it. Have you seen footage of him in the rooms and onfield? He's a very dominant presence. He's 24 now so I think within 3 years would be the timeframe for him. I'm not an insider, i'm just an outsider offering my opinion. No need to be so abrupt with the response Jack. As I said, Viney will be the captain for 7+ years i'd assume so I don't think Fyfe would come to Melb for that reason. Other clubs will offer a leadership and captain role in the near future and that's why I think he will go there. There is more than ONE club offering potential premiership success. I'm not downplaying what we have to offer.
  3. To get FYFE over the line I suspect you'd need to offer him a vision of the club with him in some sort of leadership role immediately, but captaincy further down the line but no less than 3 years. I think any club offering him that would be a chance. St Kilda do not have the most immediate leader to replace Riewoldt and should offer him captaincy within 3 years or straight away in the style of the Chris Judd trade. I don't think it would breed discontent in the ranks if captaincy is what it takes to get him into the club. If I was Carlton, Richmond, Essendon or Nth Melb, I'd do the same. Melb is a tricky situation, this is probably why I think Fyfe will not come to Melbourne as there seems to be an unofficial plan in place for Viney to become a captain of the club for the rest of his career. I'm not disagreeing with Viney being captain, I'm just offering my viewpoint as to why Fyfe is not a good fit for the Dees. Though our club guernsey would be a pretty nice looking fit on him.
  4. That sounds like a fun night BUT you'd probably rile up the Kangaroos players and fans and GWS probably would be too fragile too quell momentum with having to lift a finger outside Spotless. Would be great to hear extra cheers for GWS though, but don't be a Hawthorn supporter; mocking opposition supporters and bronx cheering, hate that kinda [censored].
  5. Would it be absurd to trade Melksham for Hibberd or just impossible because of contracts?
  6. Sydney beat Kangas last time down in Hobart. They will be playing for a top 2 home final and are in their best form of the year right now. I think they'll dispense with the Kangas quite easily.
  7. There will be something poetic about getting to play Geelong a second time, if we can beat them in r23. We will have simultaneously given GWS a huge incentive to Beat the Kangas and make the top 4 if we beat Geelong. I wonder if the margin of a GWS win over the Kangas would decide whether we would play Geelong or at Spotless v GWS. Will also decide if we make the 8. Interesting scenario's at play
  8. It's the 'bomb it long and play like its the dying seconds' tactic expanded to a quarter from Richmond.
  9. Ladder predictor has the answers. My take is that Richmond winning today could be huge in ensuring the Dogs make 5th. If Geelong beat Richmond then it might push GWS down to 5th depending on how much Geel can beat Brisbane and if its more than GWS can beat Freo. Edited Would love to play the Dogs though Etihad is an issue.
  10. With their form against the lower sides of the ladder, they don't deserve top 4 or even a home final. Would be terrific to send them to an away final v Eagles. We could also sneak into the 8 and play the DOGS who could finish 5th.
  11. It would be the ultimate load of [censored] if GWS tanked r23 because their game was inconsequential, after we won our biggest game of the season v Geelong so we need them playing for top 4. Edit: Ok that's not going to happen, Dogs and Eagles are pressing for 4 so GWS have to put their foot down on the Kangas.
  12. There is the argument for wanting to play teams in any predicament, but surely it's better if the Tiges beat Geelong and the r23 game has no bearing on top 4 or for them losing a 5/6 home final. Go Tiges.
  13. His speed is something that's been missing since Aaran Davey first broke onto the scene and blitzed every opponent.
  14. Keeping Port to 48 points. Great defensive effort. Re-signing round.
  15. Petracca should have followed that up, probably intimidated by the captain having chance at a shot.
  16. The Melbourne Football Club unreservedly apologises for only being up by 22 points at 3/4 time.
  17. Hogan looked happy with himself with that two grab mark before turning it over, also he looked shocked that he'd taken one.
