I want this guy in the red and blue so bad next year. He will stop at nothing (bar clubbing someone in the face) to experience what he missed out on at the weekend. I think deep down he knows this wont happen at Norf especially if he himself takes 10% of the entire teams salary cap.

Feels a bit that way. Dont feel too sad about this. Time for us to get max value and move on

Best of luck Jesse. I think he will struggle for 1-2 years at freo and then will boom into an absolute star. I think he was always going to go home at some stage. Strange that he got through all of the [censored] to jump ship now... His head clearly isnt in the right space in melbourne and fingers crossed he can maximize his potential in WA.

Applaud him... he tried to stick it out.. went to the [censored] and back and saw a chance to cash in.

He was a Crows supporter... That pick is him showing support for Freo during the 2013 Granny. He was 18 & playing with us when he posted that.

I can 100% see the need. The top teams will all have a strong forward which can get off the leash against us. Every time we come up against a team with a key forward we know where our biggest weakness is. Sure they might not always crush us however it always causes us to change or defensive structures. Lever isn't really a one on one defender, he will takes Lewis' role next year.

was about to say the same thing...

It was more your suggestion of landing every big name in this trade period bar Lynch

Dont mean to be following you around. It just seems to be you're name popping up with the outrageous trade suggestions haha

Would you have accepted a 3rd round pick for brayshaw at the end of last year? Because that's effectively what you are suggesting... top 5 pick over 70 games experience with concussion issues

All well & good that we keep him... Any news on how we will fill 9 list positions with only 4 current picks (5 once Kent goes) with pick 33 our earliest...? I would imagine we wouldn't want to be taking pick 87 to the draft.

If we get two top 10 picks I wouldn't mind shopping one around & retaining another.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I don't know why anyone would think he is staying.... We literally have cleared out 8 senior spots on the list (not including Kent & Hogan) with only picks 33, 43,51& 87. Clearly we have players & more picks coming in, Jesse really is the only player the picks we need to get more players through the doors. Jesse is a great player, I think he is an amazing talent which has shown some amazing resilience in his short career. However he has demanded a VERY large pay packet without IMO fully buying into our team. He clearly has some deficiencies in his game, & can drop his head if things aren't going his way early. Lets look forward to our future with players that will only buy in 100% to this team. IF we can gain picks 4 & 5 I would say this is a fair trade (possibly slight overs in our favor) however Freo need to get this deal done as they have been chasing a key forward for 15 years.

Farewell Dean Kent
His managers comments was around the fact he has job stability with a 3 year deal now he has a "new family" presumably more $$ than at the Dees and has been promised midfield minutes..

Has the Mitch Clark rule been abolished yet? Where Jesse just "retires" now then elects to sign with Freo next year?

We now also need to search for another small forward. Garlett is clearly on the outer, Kenty is gone we cannot just rely on Spargo. Maybe we should go hard at Dan Butler.

Still holding onto the fact we WERE going to draft him @ pick 2 the year we traded it for Tyson & Salem. He seems too soft for my liking....

Dammit, love Kent and is best 22 when fit. Best of luck at your journey with the Saints.

I am a little bit sheltered from Melbourne media these days but is the 6 6 6 rule still going ahead next year? If so this makes complete sense as center clearances will become more important than ever... If you win first possession & can get the ball to even numbers inside 50 weight of numbers will just mean you will score. The center clearance all starts with the ruck man... now Maxy cannot do it the entire game so imagine having Pruess coming in 30% ruck time rucking against some of the other teams second ruck men... we are talking Grigg, Boyd, Roughhead, Hawkins, Jenkins (off the top of my head). Not only would we win first hands on the ball 85-95% of the time with Maxy dominating the first ruck men we really should win at least 75% of clearances...

Yeah this is a bit different to the Wattsy one... we publicly hung him out to dry & showed we wanted him off our books.. Freo are chasing Jesse hard and have done so for 5 years. They will get laughed at if they expect us to pay any portion of his salary.

Freo will be... There is not a chance in hell he is moving there for less than 800K.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Problem with this is.... Yes that is more than likely is trade value however if GC hold onto him next year and finish in the bottom 3 again (more than likely) you know the AFL will guarantee a first round compo when he leaves during FA so they could get anything from pick 2-6 for him... They might make a stand here & get rid of a captain that doesn't want to be there & start building a decent culture however I know if I was GC I would hold off for a significantly better pick. I would be horrified if we gave up a top 10 pick for May in a straight swap.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I wouldn't say Watts, Motlop, McKenzie, Thomas & Rockliff are anywhere near the calibre of players you mentioned. One was kicked out of his club, one is the biggest down hill skier in the league, a B grade free agent and two players delisted..

Farewell Jesse Hogan
In what world does one club land 4 of the top 10 "potential big name moves" in a single trade period... Why would GC want to trade with us for another top pick which will just leave in 2 years? Why would GWS trade one of their big name mids to a direct competitor when they are in their premiership window? (unless its for HUGE overs) I'm all for being proactive during trade period... But there is no chance in hell we (or any team) will land ALL of May, Gaff, Sheil & Martin. [censored] I dont even think you could assemble a trade period like that on AFL Evolution. Sorry mate its just not possible.
