I am a little bit sheltered from Melbourne media these days but is the 6 6 6 rule still going ahead next year? If so this makes complete sense as center clearances will become more important than ever... If you win first possession & can get the ball to even numbers inside 50 weight of numbers will just mean you will score. The center clearance all starts with the ruck man... now Maxy cannot do it the entire game so imagine having Pruess coming in 30% ruck time rucking against some of the other teams second ruck men... we are talking Grigg, Boyd, Roughhead, Hawkins, Jenkins (off the top of my head). Not only would we win first hands on the ball 85-95% of the time with Maxy dominating the first ruck men we really should win at least 75% of clearances...

Problem with this is.... Yes that is more than likely is trade value however if GC hold onto him next year and finish in the bottom 3 again (more than likely) you know the AFL will guarantee a first round compo when he leaves during FA so they could get anything from pick 2-6 for him... They might make a stand here & get rid of a captain that doesn't want to be there & start building a decent culture however I know if I was GC I would hold off for a significantly better pick. I would be horrified if we gave up a top 10 pick for May in a straight swap.

I wouldn't say Watts, Motlop, McKenzie, Thomas & Rockliff are anywhere near the calibre of players you mentioned. One was kicked out of his club, one is the biggest down hill skier in the league, a B grade free agent and two players delisted..

In what world does one club land 4 of the top 10 "potential big name moves" in a single trade period... Why would GC want to trade with us for another top pick which will just leave in 2 years? Why would GWS trade one of their big name mids to a direct competitor when they are in their premiership window? (unless its for HUGE overs) I'm all for being proactive during trade period... But there is no chance in hell we (or any team) will land ALL of May, Gaff, Sheil & Martin. [censored] I dont even think you could assemble a trade period like that on AFL Evolution. The thing with our list is most of our stars and best players are so young and still have room to grow. Whereas most teams rely heavily on their aging players. Add Hogan and lever to that team on the weekend and another year of experience our team will go one step further next year. I think having another big defender and back up ruck is vital however.

Max has an amazing ability to read the ball & clunk contested Marks @ both ends of the ground. Imagine having Maxy play as the lose defender whilst still having a dominant ruck men in the middle. I actually quite like this idea.

The thing with the GC is they wont be wanting a pick for May... They need players to help stabilize their team (Eg Bernie for us 5 years ago) This I think will work in our favor as we have no picks to use... I'm sure the FD well determine who is indispensable IF we really wanted to get the deal done.

All this talk of the heat seems a bit stupid... its 24 not 34 degrees... each commentator has said that Perth has also had a freezing winter and not trained or played in a similar temperature so how is that different to us? Might I add we also played two games in the NT and performed VERY well in both.
