No matter what place, we all sing from the same hymn book. But I miss the music threads, the whimsical anecdotes and the general [censored] talking over a virtual pint.

Oh boy, what a hoot that was. Do you know the name he gave himself for that feat? 'ologists did. When I let it slip a few years ago. Much to their outrage and my total stupidity / naivety.

GWS and Fremantle tabled $1 million offers to Goddard and they were knocked back. The captaincy will be given to him as a reward for loyalty and Riewoldt is happy to step aside. Money isn't the big drawcard here. Whilst a glorious seven-figure sum from the aforementioned clubs would "set him up for life", fact is he plays off 1 on the golf course. That'll look after him post-footy.

The Western Bulldogs - Under the radar to the point of...

To be fair on the press, they gave us a similar recess during Bailey's re-build. Then we dicked them during our supposed "rise to power" - made them out to be foolish. Makes sense to be treated like scum this time. -
I sense another hypocritical 360 rant where he takes the moral high ground and slams any one of us for drawing to these conclusions.
-
No but he should be sent to Abu Ghraib for that atrocity.
-
Benefit OD the doubt, I guess.

I have pleaded guilty to seven day beer goggles.

From all reports the club is doing the same. What's your problem?

Beams signs for 3 ... Cloke edges closer to Dees?

No need. He will stay at the Saints. -
Well go on, then. Closing time is 5 o'clock. Put your proposal in to AAMI Park. Let us know how you fare.

Neeld can't hide his distaste for Beamer. What I can't understand is why Beamer would be so stubborn. He's effectively forcing himself over the hill.

It was a speculative suggestion and not to be read in absolutes. Yet, I didn't think Moloney had that much value among some of you? Like DA said, probably the best part of that trade would be Moloney's exile.
-
If Essendon want Caddy and Gold Coast want older midfielders and we want KP forwards, is the following a workable trade? Moloney to Gold Coast Caddy to Essendon Bellchambers / Gumbleton / Hooker (?) to Melbourne I can't speak much of Essendon's talls. But I know they have a few with ability and I know they are jostling to hold down spots.

Sylvia would benefit from a fresh start. I think he's done his dash but a club like Sydney could turn him around. Imagine him kicking goals off a wing to complement Jetta? Their first round pick would suffice and perhaps a swap of later-round picks to balance it out. He is the closest type to an A-grader in our squad, but he's had a 4-year grace period to shake off his "woulda, coulda, shoulda" tag.

Day is signed up until 2014. That said, in a fantasy world I would move heaven and earth for him.

If I may pre-empt Paul Roos' commentary tomorrow night: "See, this is what I am talking about with this Melbourne culture. You are only as strong as your weakest link, and this guy typifies that. He couldn't wait to leave Melbourne even before the season ended. I just don't see how they can emerge out of the doldrums they are in." And so on ...

Contract discussions put on hold for eleven Demons
Deers replied to DemonDave's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is riveting stuff. Is it accurate? Well, you only have to look at today's e-mail and talks of a proposed "war chest" (even looking back at past list management decisions by Neeld's mentors, Blight and Malthouse) to make sense of it. If this pre-season doesn't put us in the right place, we might as well cark it. At least they're giving it their all in trying this time. -
If we're talking babes of the games, then I'll take this Lithuanian high jumper to go, thanks.
-
I can't see him being pushed after the Junior debacle. He doesn't have currency like a Moloney or a Sylvia. If he wants to play on, it's up to him and him only.

Steve Solomon is unlikely to win a medal, but he has won me over. The kid has class and a fiery will to win that you just can't teach. He lengthened really, really well when nobody expected him to in both races. And has lowered his PB twice. I like the forward pattern and hope he can improve on it again in the Final. All of this for a 19-year-old. FM.

That Jamaican hurdler's tanty becoming an instant GIF or "meme" craze. Taking all bets.

I don't think the media hounds will give two hoots. We're a month away from Finals. In the context of this season, as the OP suggests, we are "irrelevant". If the Suns win, they'll get pumped up for their first win in Melbourne and at the 'G. Why not lose if it creeps us closer to 2 & 3? Suddenly we've become the AFL's black sheep. Let's show everyone what a black sheep can do, huh? In all seriousness ... we should win.
