  1. I have to admit, May's positioning is still first class. If only he still had his 2021 level fitness. If he mellows out after retirement I reckon he'd make an outstanding defensive coach.
  2. The first block came against: 8th 16th 7th 4th 13th The second block has come against 15th 1st 11th 7th 3rd If we had gone 2-3 in both those blocks we'd be equal 6th on the ladder. The North, Essendon, Saints and Port games have cost us our season.
  3. It's just a game of whack-a-mole with us. You fix our intercept defenders but then we get belted around the ball which has been a strength of ours before the bye. You fix our goal kicking from the second qtr onwards but then we don't get it in there enough (mostly due to being belted around the ball) McVee's had a couple games like that. He just plays too loose. Salem was garbage and Bowey got shut down Rankine and Soligo love playing against us. Also, Fritsch has had some poor games in his time but that was horrific. But who comes in for him? I'd actually rather Petracca play that half forward role and leave Viney, Oliver and Pickett in the middle.
  4. God I hated that by Fritsch
  5. He's been tagging Dawson extremely well.
  6. Contest behind the ball has been amazing. Front half has been pretty abysmal from the middle of that second qtr. Not winning a center clearance is killing us because we can't set the ground up.
  7. The fact is, if you have bad set shot kickers having shots on goal then you're going to kick lots of behinds. Petracca, Melksham, Langdon All bad at set shots with a drop punt.
  8. 10 goal loss incoming I fear. Only thing I'd like to see out of this game is JvR and Jeffo have a real crack and maybe kick a few goals between them. No one is expecting us to win this one, so a loss will barely make a ripple in the media landscape. A loss to North and then Carlton could spell an early end to Goodwin's contract though.
  9. I get that Voss is probably a dead man walking, but if we lose to Carlton in a few weeks, then the same would have to be true of Goodwin.
  10. I wonder if we get belted this weekend the media will jump on us. I feel like Carlton's demise has taken the pressure off us. We are a club in no-man's-land and I feel supporter engagement is at an all time low. With the way Adelaide are playing this could be a 10 goal loss.
  11. Despite winning the flag in '21, it's ridiculous we haven't won a final in two consecutive seasons in 35 years is a joke.
  12. Collingwood would never have accepted 3 interstate trips in a row. There would have been an uproar. This is unprecedented and the only reason it's been deemed ok is because we just don't have the power of a big club to push back
  13. Think it's first time since 2020 due to covid. It's ridiculous that the club accepted this.
  14. 6 wins from our last 21 games
  15. Gold Coast's pressure has been elite the whole game. Hopefully they have a bit of a drop off.
  16. First time this team has had it's season over so early in the season since 2019 and it shows. They aren't motivated. Expect only 1-2 wins more for the year at this rate.
  17. I'm not confident at all. I know we've had 3 losses in a row and will look to bounce back, but so have the Suns and they'll be absolutely determined to not let this one slip. I think Max King will get a hold of May unfortunately and he could be on the chopping block at next week's selection. Suns by 37.
  18. If you took a look at Melbourne and the WBD a day after the 2021 grand final you would have definitely had the thought of multiple premierships for us and then wondered what scars the dogs will carry after such a heavy GF defeat. However, as we come to 4 seasons since that 2021 grand final, we've won zero finals since then and looking at another bottom 6 finish while the Dogs are bursting with young talent and looking to make a second consecutive finals series. I find it really hard to stomach that after that 2021 grand final they're probably going to win a final before us.
  19. Swans have turned a bit of a corner lately. Port were absolutely primed for us. Hinkley basically said in his presser a day before the match that it was a game they must win in front of their fans. We looked like a team who's bye was coming one week too late.
  20. I'm actually surprised how high he went in the draft. His kicking is really poor and we've seen time and time again how hard it is to turn a bad kick into a good kick.
  21. I'm most concerned about Windsor and JvR. I think Salem actually had a good block of form but dropped away the last couple of weeks.
  22. It's actually quite embarrassing considering our talent vs Their's. Apart from JHF, Rozee, Georgiades, Butters and Farrell, none of their other players would probably be in our best 22.
  23. Funnily enough both us and the Hawks were on 7 wins after round 14 last year. Crazy to think that despite the horror shows against Freo, WCE and the Pies last year, we were still better than what we are this year comparing a W/L record.
  24. Yeah just watched it too. They're 100% right. Some people will say stuff like, "Well Goodwin can't kick the ball for them" and that's true, but what Goodwin can do is ensure we have a different mix of players kicking the ball inside 50 and yet he picks the same 3 butchers.
  25. I know we won't make a move this year, but I'm just sick and tired of watching us lose the same way again, and again, and again. I know we've made shifts in our game plan, but if Goodwin is going to persist with the same guys who just can't compete aerially ahead of the ball, or defenders who just want to sag off on their opponents then that's on him.
