Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis are all Hawthorn royalty and club champions and none of them finished their careers at the Hawks. Viney playing his last 1-2 years at North won’t tarnish his Melbourne legacy. If Viney is open to it then I think it’d be foolish not to entertain it given where we are as a club. His Dad and Max already work at North. It’s not a big stretch to see why Jack would say yes to it.

If we’re serious about regenerating our midfield, Viney to North makes a lot of sense. We need a completely different look if we’re going to challenge over the next year or two.

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Port Adelaide
At the break of Gawn replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don’t think we’re a chance at all as we’ll be smashed in the middle but Port’s forward line is pretty trash without Georgiades. Dixon is washed up, Ratugolea is a defender and Marshall has had a really poor season. If our midfield wasn’t the worst in the comp at clearances we’d probably win this game. -
I can't believe it...
At the break of Gawn replied to Timothy Reddan-A'Blew's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’m actually interested in reading it but it’s behind a paywall. Can anyone paraphrase it? -
Hopefully a good amount of Port supporters show up

The Dogs completely changed up their assistant coaches during the off-season and brought in 3 new coaches. It took a while to settle but they’re reaping the rewards now. We need to do the same and also take a lesson out of what we did in 2019/2020. Out: Stafford, Choco, McQualter, maybe even Griffith.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Western Bulldogs

I don’t think Gawn, May, Melksham, Tmac or Viney will be there for our next one. Oliver, Petracca and Lever will be there veterans. -
The Premiership Window Closing?

Almost poetic that our window officially shut against the team we won a flag against. -
PODCAST: Rd 21 vs Western Bulldogs

I don’t want to hear from Binman how we evened them in clearances. They had the luxury of taking Libba off at 3 qtr time and we only won them once the game was gone. Can we all acknowledge now that our midfield is our weakest line? I can’t see us winning any of our remaining games against someone who has a decent midfield. Collingwood is probably our best shot. -

The game was done when we started winning stoppage. Pert/Richardson need to just say to McQualter. Best of luck but we’re going to go in a different direction. -

Nothing compromised at all about that flag. If anything, the compromise was against us because we had to win our first two home finals at neutral venues. You want to know a compromise? Collingwood playing at their home ground against an interstate team on grand final day. -

Yep, get the off-season surgeries out of the way early. -

If you had told me at the start of the year that our midfield would become our worst performing area, I’d call you crazy. I’ve got more faith in our forwards than I do in our mids. Also, I fear for the crowd size next week. Port could out number us. -

Treloar is way too quick for Viney. -

Never seen so many broken tackles. Smashed in clearances again. Midfield not running hard enough. McQaualter surely can’t be here next year. -

Just FYI no one at the Herald Sun tipped us except for the Kiss of Death. According to them we’re the biggest underdog of the round. -

Can’t see us winning the midfield battle at all which will lead to a heap of entries and ultimately the win for them. My confidence in McQualter is waning and I don’t think he has any tricks up his sleeve. I know the Dogs are our bunnies but I reckon Trac has been BoG in probably 3 of the last 4 against them which also doesn’t help. -
PREGAME: Rd 21 vs Western Bulldogs

Dogs have just opened their new home base. Looks world class. When will we open ours? 2040? -
If I’m being brutally honest, we should be doing the same thing with McQualter. Clearly hasn’t worked this year. Teague on the other hand would be a great addition for us and has a proven track record of improving a team’s scoring.

A lot on here are really overblowing how good the Giants are. They lost to Richmond and the Suns on expected score and only won off their accuracy. They’ve lost to the likes of Essendon and Adelaide (both teams we’ve beaten). I fully expected to win last night but the fact is after the Giants made some tactical changes after qtr time we had no answer.

PREGAME: Rd 21 vs Western Bulldogs
At the break of Gawn replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Knowing that we’re not going to do anything meaningful this year, I wonder if it’d be better for us to not make finals to give ourselves the best chance for 2025? 2021 was built off a full pre-season. I’m not sure if a first or second week finals loss is going to do anything for this group. -
Wife 9 months pregnant. I’ll buy another membership when the baby is born to make up for it.

Another poor coaching performance. No answer for the Giants handball game. Tmac on Hogan made no sense. Another poor coaching performance by McQualter too.

10th on the ladder. Got smacked the week before, cold rainy night. We also haven’t played attractive footy since round 4 2022.
