  1. Yes, He has room to use his leg speed and other than the centre bounce he could be around nearly every stoppage (unless it is near the bookends) Wing is not a bad place for him to start, with occasional runs in the guts, that’s until he takes his place in the middle wearing the red and blue for the next 15 years. So where would you play him rhino?
  2. In my opinion Scully should be played in a few positions this year to help the step up to the AFL. A little like, as previously mentioned, like Gibbs at his first year the blues. I wouldn’t be surprised that he might play a run with role in small stints with people like Judd and Harvey etc. But I doubt that he could match their harden bodies and strength for long periods. Just to get a taste of what is needed. But I doubt he will go into game after game as a tagger. I really hope he spends a fair bit of time on the wing and around stoppages as his run and ability to get the pill will be highlighted. I think this guy will make other people around him look good. Not your flashy star but a guy who gets the ball into the hands of the right people at the right time. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this kid. He has his head on straight, sounds like a hard worker and is ready to play footy. Go Dees
  3. My partner is 6 foot tall and ex American state high jump champion. She also ran track at collage, middle distance and heptathlon. I have always suggested that we should have a breading campaign with her and one of the boys. For some reason the conversation always come back to Brad Miller.........
  4. This is kinda sad, but I was wondering why all three players had births so close together? therefore why were Bruce, Jnr and Davey where on the job about the same time? Well I did a count back (via a reverse pregnancy counter) and got this results "Your estimated conception date was between April 20, 2009 and April 30, 2009." What happened in that time? Then I remebered this Round 4 Sun 19 Apr V Richmond MCG Win 100-92 A. Davey 25 touches Bruce 24 touches Game details Is this just coincidence? Was our first win of the season unsettle something in the loins of our boys. I hope so, Must be a good sign for the future. And yes, I am a very sad sad man.
  5. Dean was just about to say 10 games!!!! Go Dees, great Vid
  6. I saw Hughes play about 3 years ago in Tassie. He snagged 6 goals and marked everything that came near him. I thought on that day he is going to be a star. But due to injuries hasnt kicked on. I have faith with the MFC and what I saw on that day that there is something special about him. I am happy they have kept him on. This year I guess, is the line in the sand year. His final chance to get his body right and force his selction. If not he is a MFC trivia question in years to come. I read that he did some pretty good things at Casey in 2009. Good luck to the boy, tough ask to get into this devolping Forward line and make a name for himself.
  7. Nice work green Machine, I would love to see Bate take the next step. From this article I would love to see Rivers take the next step. First Pre Season in 5. Touch wood, but if he gets through the whole year, he may be talked about as an all austrailan. He does so many 1% (17th in the comp for total and 9th on average Prostats 2009). If he gets his body right then hopefully we can see what we got a glimpse of in 2004.
  8. For Fun I triend to line players against each other for an intraclub scratch match. HB strauss Garland Dunn HF Maric Martin Bate B Rivers Garland Cheeny F Jurrah Watts Jetta HB Grimes Frawley Joel Mac HF Pettrd Miller Syliva B Dunn McNamara Bennell F Newton Fitz, Wonna If there is no injury problems. Not sure who would win out.
  9. I also hope Maric has a breakthrough season and we a find truly dangerous small forward but he may have to punch it out with Wona, jetta and pettard. Is Grimes doing a full Preseason? If so, is this his first injury free? If that is the case I would expect him to move more into the guts and have a bigger year (unless the 2nd year blues hit) I also agree on Cale. Winning a few more games will highlight some of our talent that has been hiding away from the AFL viewing public. I though Colin and Chip broke out last year. Not yet convinced with Dunn. Has played some good games, has gone missing in others, is yet to cement himself into a role or position. Might find himself fighting for a spot against some classy kids.
  10. Im bored at work so I thought I would start a topic to see who you think is going to have a big 2010. For me it is Nath Jones. With McLean gone, and Maloney doing the hard nut grunt work, I feel, that Nath will have more room, more responsibility and more game time, in the centre this year and may even push forward and snag a few goals. If Scully quick hands and ball magnet skills flow through to the AFL then guys like Jones might get some quick hands in some room to spare. I hate to put the Moz on him, but watch out for the “number 2”. Also he is looking less chunky and more streamlined and super fit in the training photos. Hopefully he has learnt how to break a tag if one goes to him since mclean is not taking it. Who do you think is going to step up in 2010?
  11. Things that get me excited Maric - Looks like his body has come a long way Tom Scully - his hand pass position is perfect Jurrah and wona - Look like they more than belong (and look damn fit) Luke Tapscott - I one big unit Jones - Is all muscle! My pick for a really big year Things that don’t get me excited Jack Watts’s facial growth
  12. The more I see and read about this kid the more I like. Check out some highlights and highlights. the boy can kick and can kick long, loves a goal, tough, aggressive, can take a mark and is best mates with Jack T. Really good pick up
  13. MFC are probably not behind those clips but who ever is.......you’re a bloody ledged!!
  14. MFC goes You Tubing MFC are putting up some old games. Check out the Dees v dongers last quarter (part 1 and 2) from 1990. Also a great game in 89 to beat the scragers. Check out tingay's hair!
  15. bad late 80's film clip late 80's I am guessing form the players, the hair and the hot synthesizer sounds. Some great shots like ricky Jackson stuck in a locker, Sean Wight playing bag pipes, O'Dwyer with a ranga kid, Feeby twins in the same jumper (two headed Tasmanians) This is gold Sorry if this has been posted before

  21. I do rate Brett lovett's Mullet higher than Jacko's. but Febey's Under cut is even better
  22. Details of the day Jimmy had 35 touches, Viney 32 Plugger kicked 5 from 7 touches
  23. Hey, I found this on You tube. It may have been posted before but well worth another view. I couldnt find it on a quick search (please combine with any old thread) Just a few things hit me when I watched this. G Lyon drove this team. After nearly every goal Gaz ran up to the kicker and told him all about it and gave them a rev up. Jacka.........Jesus he was good, only if Watts can light it up like this when he makes his mark. But the main thing I wanna see back in the Red and blue is the passion in this clips!! Enjoy Go Dees
  24. Worth a watch I am kinda Diggin CC. Damn straight Shooter. Go Dees
