RD 1 2014 - v St. Kilda @ Etihad Saturday Night
dazzledavey36 replied to demonkeaney's topic in Melbourne Demons
LOL I have done a complete 360 turn around and now think we are a serious chance. After going through our list again and adding our new comers it does look a lot better. For us to win though we need Clark, Hogan and Dawes all playing that day fully fit. There defense is weak and Delaney and Bruce will have serious headaches trying to contain these 3. Remember Clark for us has never played against the saints so he adds a further 3 to 4 goals to our side. Running freely now so expect a full pre season for him. Dawes will still do majority of Pre Season after Xmas but we need his leadership out there. Hogan to kick 3 on debut. We MUST stop Jack Steven! This guys is a gun and I expect him to explode next year and take his game to another level. Love the way he plays. They have lost a fair bit of experience through Nicky Dal but still have Lenny Hayes and Leigh Montagna in there which we still need to keep a close check on them. Savage will be good for them but so will Michie, Tyson, Cross, and Vince for us on top of Viney, Jones, Toumpas, Mckenzie, Kent and MJones plus a pick 9 which hopefully is Freeman who will add some serious pace and X factor. Josh Kelly will debut for them and I want us to shake him up. Whether is through a big hip and shoulder its time to start getting fair dinkum with ourself's. Not just Him but the whole side. That last game against the doggies proved to me that we do have fight in us just need to show it more often. All in all we need a fit 22 come round 1. Jamar has to play given their lack of experience in the rucks. We have them covered in that area and up forward. If McDonald or Frawley keep Reiwoldt down then we will win the game. Milne has retired which is good for us as he always carves us up so their forward line is a bit light now. Go Dees -
About time we play Geelong and North Melbourne at the MCG! Btw I don't reckon the fixture is that bad at all? chance for some early wins.

No point getting it 38 times when you cant hit a target which is part of Crouch problem. Might aswell have kept Tom Couch or James Magner.Crouch will slide. Freeman is 5 times better then crouch in terms of his inside and out and ability to explode from packs and hit targets. He is also a maniac around the contest like Jack Viney and you will see that when we draft him at 9. Btw Nicholson was never bombing goals from outside 50 you just made that up which proves your lack of football knowledge kn our players.

LOL by far the worst comparison going around.Your saying we should get Crouch yet he cant kick, not a big endurance base at all for a midfielder, very slow, and lacks the work ethic at training. Please.

If you don't like it then don't comment plain and simple. -

2009 when I was living in Melbourne I basically went to all the Melbourne games and he was defiantly playing as a forward pocket. 2010 he only played 6 games and again was playing mostly Half forward. -
Our drafting aint that bad its the first round picks that have killed us!

Loving the DP LOL!

Why is everyone saying he was the wrong selection, we overlooked Dangerfield and Rioli etc.. Morton at the time was considered a top 3 pick to the point one recruiter said he was even a number 1 choice. We were all salivating at the prospect of a tall midfielder who could run all day and hit targets with his pin point passes that was much talked about during the championships. He was a Larke Medalist, All Australian under 18s and we all thought we had a genuine superstar our hands. Heck I remember people on here were comparing him to Adam Goodes and Mathew Pavlich. His first 2 years was quite good but I just thought Dean Bailey didn't use him properly. Ever since he had that Knee injury against Essendon at Visy Park one pre season match, it all went downhill from there. This also proves how shonky our development was. I don't think Morton is a bad player infact I could see the talent just needed the right coach with good experience.. That's where we made the mistake of getting Mark Neeld instead of an experience coach like Rodney Eade or Ross Lyon. By the time he went to West Coast I seriously believe that was the end of him. His confidence was that shot from Neeld, that psychological mindset was way down He is still young so I hope this is a wake up call for him and goes back to the WAFL, works his ass off and gets picked up again. The talent is there..

Id rather throw money at Ollie Wines. Decided not to sign a long term deal with Port that was put in front of him mid year. -
Found this on Freeman and don't know how reliable because it is bigfooty.. lol ''Melbourne have told him they will select him at 9 if available''.

Put a line through this blokes name. Don't care how good it is we are trying to build a culture. We are not in a position to take a punt on players like him. Wait till we build a strong leadership group and Culture then maybe we can look at guys like him. Lets take a punt on guys that are willing to put in 110% on the track and gameday. I want players that will bleed for this football club and sacrifice a lot just to help improve this club on and off field.

What VFL game that he dominated in and put his name right in front of the selectors to be considered a senior game? I watched him in that last final against Werribee and he was unsighted all day.. Would have lucky to have had 7 disposals for the whole day. -

Pretty sure he started as a forward pocket especially when Aussie was battling injuries problems and Davey was playing HBF.
