  1. Predicted some rain on Saturday. Actually don't mind this, would slow Essendons ball movement down a notch at least.

That was on the eve of 1998 season. Imagine had we got him on board.. could he have been the difference in winning that flag in 98.

These guys aren't winning you big games or finals anytime soon. Oscar Allen could be a 3-4 goal difference come September. He kicked 53 goals last year. Put him in our forward line last year and we win the flag.

Mate I'm not Lord Nev.. 😆
  5. Probably our best in form defender. Surely he's got a contract coming his way?

There were certainly rumours last year of us supposedly reaching out to Allen's management as there was some talk he was bit disgruntled with the club and us apparently set to offer a monster deal. Could be some truth to this. Not that I think this will grow any more legs pr eventuate, but I have no doubt we've probably done some background check.

  8. The deliberate was there everyday of the week.
  9. Anyone got Cam Pedersons number?
  10. What he said.
  11. Good lord..
  12. Just earned himself another contract. Didn't miss a beat.
  13. The kid is an animal. A campaigner that will be the first to bat for teammates and another that opposition supporters will hate. My type of player.
  14. It's the kids for me that is the story of today. Kolt has swagger and campaigner about him. I have desperately wanted this kind of player since Bernie Vince or Tom Bugg. He's also a very impressive young player JVR will be a our number 1 key forward from next year onwards. He's got it all. Windsor - Enough said, the kid has class and star factor. McVee - All class and silk. His composure right on the members wing pretty dam impressive. Andy Moniz Wakefield - give me a contract extension. The kid is a beauty. Tough, composed and reminds of another #45 who used to bounced off half back. Turner rarely loses a contests. He engages and then brings the ball to ground. He'll only get better with age and experience. Then there is Rivers and Koz who play like 150 game veterans.
  15. Another rubbish last quarter on display.
  16. I understand why we brought in a forward/ruckman but perplexed why we didn't go for someone like a Mabior Chol who had actually proven he can play at AFL level. I never supported the Fullerton recruitment right from the very start, but I thought there were opportunities to bring him into the senior side this year purely for JVR to focus fully on being a key forward and to actually give Max a proper chop out. The past few weeks Max has looked tired and it's a concern that we are running him onto the ground with minimal support.
  17. This has nothing to do with the Melksham selection, but to say supporters have no clue with team selection advice is pretty funny considering some of the team selections this year already from the same coaches have been truly and utterly baffling in itself. You ask any AFL coach on team selection throughout the year and they'll be the first to admit that there are times where they have gotten selection wrong on a Thursday night. There have certainly been some with the Dees this year.
  18. Proud to say I have never once questioned Jefferson's development. Learnt a big lesson from when I thought Judd McVee was a certainty to be delisted after watching him at Casey in his first year. Thought it was a joke we gave him another year.. egg on my face now but since then I've reserved judgement on the likes of Jefferson and Adams because it just takes time and patience is needed. People forget that not everyone develops at a Nick Daicos level and everyone is different in terms of speed of development.
  19. He's a genuine, to put it nicely, an absolute plodder. Has me bewildered why some on here think he would be a handy addition. Clearly they haven't seen him play. He's one of the worst kicks of the footy you'll see and his pace for a midfielder is below standard. Complete opposite to what we need or require.

Very funny reading back on these previous posts.. Some would have egg on their face.
  21. Whatever happens with Melk this year I'd still personally offer him another contract. Deserves to at least have a crack at a full reason. Cannot be judged off whatever performance he displays this year because at the end of the day he hasn't got the miles in the legs from a full summer of training. We'll go into next year with a younger list and I'd prefer if we can hang onto someone like a Melksham who is pretty much acting as an assistant coach with the forwards. Hunter, Brown, Tomlinson are the more older guys I'd let go before Melksham.
  22. Immensely talented. Still to this day there isn't a Melbourne player I've come across that could absolutely drill a low flat 40m pass on either footy with ease. He was laconic as they come but God when he was on he could seriously player. If you ever get the chance ask David Neitz and Russell Robertson what they thought of trapper. Their eyes would light up when he had ball in hand.

Cool... couldn't care less how far he runs At the end of the day his two misses were proven costly alongside Petty.
  24. Tarranto is the furtherest thing from being a class player lol. Absolutely butchers the footy and has zero composure. Next.
