Great report DM. Funny you mention about Oscar Mac because pretty sure i read somewhere that he is actually 198cm tall now and had a bit of a growth spurt when he arrived at the club. Next time if anyone can get a chance of oscar standing next to his brother he actually towers him a bit lol.

I wouldn't classify him as a surprise packet to be honest. We have already seen what his best footy could be just hasn't had a good run with injury.

Probably one who popped up last year and surprised with his sudden impact was Aaron Vandenberg. With his limited pre season due to his recovery from a shoulder reconstruction I certainly didn't expect him to come and make an impact straight away. so for me I am going to go for a bit of a Smokey and say Mitch White will be my surprise packet for 2016. I know he is on the rookie list but don't be surprised if a spot opens up for him if he has a good summer on the track. Didn't look out of place at all in fact he already looked like he had already played 50 games. Big body 188cm 88kg half back who is a fantastic kick of the footy and could potentially push up onto a wing. Someone like him could really make us a better side off half back with the sling shot from a half back so I am hoping he has a big summer and he shows us what an important player he will be for the future.

Agree to disagree on the first part then.I agree with you on Mathieson. I think he is overrated. Poor skills, Poor tank and slow.. Won't be a top 10 pick and personally I think he could slide right out to the late teens.

I am not sold on Weideman be honest. It would be a massive win for us if we picked Parish at 3 and Curnow slid to 7.

Tasman I have one quick question. How is Ben Kennedy fitting in? Personally I think he could become a big surprise packet next year. Never heard how his training standards were at Collingwood so would love to know how he wont on the track this week. cheers.

A beautiful kick of the ball mate. And by that i mean he bullets his kick low and hard. Perfect penertration on and hits his target well. Originally i was iffy using pick 7 on him but after thinking long and hard about him i just couldn't ignore the fact i saw this kid literally ragdoll other kids around him. His lack of exposure was my big query. But like i said he is the closest i have seen to next Luke Parker.

How was i wrong? The reason why he is doing the private medical screening is because Melbourne along with Essendon and a few clubs have specifically requested one. It all hinders on his medical report as i have already mentioned he has had serious injuries for 2 years.Same as we flew Sharenberg down to Melbourne for the same exact reason.

He is definitely not out of the question at pick 7 mate.Will he be the best mid? Time will tell.. Personally he has enormous upside due to very little exposure at elite under 18 championships. I compare him to a taller and quicker Luke Parker.. He is an absolute maniac at the contest and prides himself on his agression and hardness.

I hope we don't take Weideman at 3. Was talking to my friend who works at the Murray Bushies under 18s last night and he said he is a huge risk in the top 5 let alone top 10. Has had serious injuries for 2 years with his ankles apparently. Melbourne will be doing a special medical screening with him next week.
