WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Damian Barrett on the Sunday Footy show just said he believes we are now front runners for Ben Brown. Very interesting.

Burgess and Brayshaw
Its family related. His kids live back in SA with his ex wife and he wants to be closer to them. Bit like the Brad Miller situation years ago.

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
Agree 100% Same supporters that are happy that we had more wins than last year. Another failed year where players and supporters have had enough. We laugh at Essendon with the imploding of players, but that could be us this time next year if we miss finals again.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
It could easily be a range of things we aren't privy too behind closed doors. Could be a personal matter that wasn't handle in the right matter, who knows. Its easy to speculate from what we see on the telly, but hub like has brought out the best and worst of clubs. But its been confirmed by @Chook in Perththat he's not happy which to me says enough to know that its legit. Also wise, while we are not a bottom 4 side, we have underperformed as a club with the talent on the list and we've been mediocre. The club had the aim at the start of the year to play finals and we failed... again. Can't sugar coat this anymore. Players and supporters are now getting incredibly restless.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
Yes I've been known to say those things in the past on poor Oscar in the heat of the moment. But I made a real effort this year to not use the term 'spud'. We forget they're humans at the end of the day. But on a pure football sense I think its best he gets a fresh start somewhere else. But Melbourne fans need to also be realistic. We'll be looking at a late 3rd round draft pick early 4th.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
But don't you think its damming that the club preferred Joel Smith ahead of him towards the end? I think that's quiet telling on McDonald's behalf. And to the highlighted part, it happens every year during trade period and delisted free agency Wise. If Goodwin simply sees no plans for him at this footy club moving forward, then what's to say a Fremantle or North Melbourne that can pick him up cheap and get 10 games out of him. Its the nature of the trade and free agency world. May, Lever, and Tomlinson will be our starting backs next year with Joel Smith and Petty as our back up options. Oscar's had 6 years to show something and imo he's shown no improvement from when he started. It's time for him to move on and stop hanging on to list cloggers. Is the club is fair dinkum about being ruthless then its list changes like these that needs to happen. I do appreciate Oscar for trying his hardest each and every game and thank him for his efforts. But its time now that he and the club moves on.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
Its not harsh, just the reality really.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
In my first post I did also say clubs who are in need of depth backman who can plug in for a game here and there. For instance, Fremantle backing were riddled with injuries. Oscar would have gotten a a gig. Port at times also had a undersized backline. He's not going to clubs to be in best 22.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
Doggies, Port Adelaide and Fremantle would be the 3 who would be in serious need of a backman.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
Agree. I think some on here are getting confused with the Oliver talk. No one is saying that we will trade Oliver. That's not what concerns me at all, because let's be realistic, he's contracted and even if he actually requested a trade, I'm sorry but that club can cough up 2 first rounders as a starting point. I think the concern is that Oliver is unhappy at the club and fair to say that if we are in this position this time next year then yes he'll have every right to demand a trade. We as a club need to do everything in their power in getting it right next year to show guys like Petracca and Oliver that we are moving in the right direction. Right at this stage, the direction of the club is up in the air.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
Plays exactly the way he does when he played back in 2016. Has not improved one bit, and yet I was horrified to hear that at the start of the year talks had been going well about a potential new 2 year deal. It's an indictment on the club that we've gifted him 80 games to show absolutely zip development. Oscar needs to do what's best for his own career and sought out a trade to a club in need of a depth backman who can fill in for a game here and there.

Burgess and Brayshaw
Burgo might not even be there next year by the looks of it.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
Poor girl. Graz, it didn't mention in the article, but is she actually from WA?? Would make sense if she was and she wants to be surrounded by family?

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
I don't think anyone is saying that Oliver will leave this year ET. He's contracted for another year. But, he's clearly disgruntled and not happy within the club. What that reason be, who knows? I'm not in the belief that its over a stupid BnF placing ( though its an utter joke Viney finished higher then him). I just think he's not happy due to the lack of success of the club and he's getting impatient. What's even more concerning is that @Chook in Perth has confirmed that this is clearly the case right now that we have one of the best players this club has seen come through our doors, is not happy. If we have another year of missing finals then I would not be surprised if he requests a trade.

Farewell Braydon Preuss
Its out of Essendon and St Kilda for Caldwell. I expect he will go to the saints. There's been absolute no reports or noise that we are interested in Caldwell. He'll pretty much make a decision this coming week now that the saints are out of the finals.

Settle down.. It hasn't been confirmed that is the case. I've known Oliver since his days when we spent time together at the bushies and he is a competitive animal where all he cares about is winning games and having succes. The individual stuff is something that I believe was not part of his love for the game. He's probably getting restless and frustrated with his time at the Dees. In his 5 years at the club he's played finals once. He has every right to feel frustrated at the club.

How Jack Viney finished ahead of him is beyond the joke. Voting system is flawed.

And i got howled down for this exact comment.. Thanks Chook. I am actually not surprised one bit. Have said it before, 2021 looms as the most crucial year in the MFC history if we want to keeps the likes of Oliver and Petracca.

- Brad Green on Board?
Got the [censored] from 2 clubs as an assistant coach and doesn't come across well articulated on Twitter as well. In fact, he's said some things that makes you shake your head. Good player Greeny, but putting him on the board level just because he is 'red and blue' would be a mistake imo. Get the right and best experienced people around that will take this club forward, not backwards. Only position I'd ever offer him is a goal kicking coach. That's it.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Any news on Smith?- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
is this not the case anymore??- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Didn't say we were 'very very interested ' but more so that we are keeping a close eye on his movements. I see that as we need to rely on a few things to fall our way such as McDonald being traded for a 2nd rounder and Preuss as well.- Trade Targets
Where are you @Chook in Perth...... - Brad Green on Board?
