Sources believe the durable 31-year-old is close to putting pen to paper on the deal. If he does, it would force the Demons to look elsewhere for another outside ball-winner. Rival clubs believe unrestricted free agent Smith is more likely to stay.
  2. Looks like you're on the money here. https://coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/afl-trade-news-rumours-whispers-2020-jack-viney-geelong-isaac-smith-melbourne-demons-updates-tom-morris/news-story/c3e09490ae2a954c0fdf3f4b07201787?__twitter_impression=true Meanwhile, Geelong has not been officially notified but senses Jack Viney will re-sign at Melbourne on a long-term deal. Demons insiders are now supremely confident the hard-nosed midfielder will remain as negotiations continue between his agent Tom Petroro and the club. It’s understood Viney’s preference is to stay and Melbourne has raised its offer since initial
  3. Was more talking about Malthouse from his Carlton days.
  4. Clarkson is washed up. Going down the same path as Sheedy, Malthouse Pagan where the game has caught up to them and they haven't moved with the times. Clarkson has left the Hawks list in a mess.
  5. Much rather keep ANB and get rid of Melksham.
  6. Wasn't it mentioned on this board a while ago that he had apparently signed for next year? Forgot who mention it though..
  7. The 10 players who will shape WAFL colts finals Taj Woewodin (East Fremantle) Woewodin is the young man who needs to step up in the absence of gun midfielder Jack Carroll, just like he did late against Swan Districts. The son of Brownlow medallist Shane was a welcome addition to the Sharks’ line-up for the final home-and-away round after his PSA commitments with Aquinas College finished up. He is a strong leader, a classy ball user by foot and can play across half-back or in the midfield. Has been named on-ball, but is likely to rotate with starting half-back flanker Finn Gorringe.
  8. Definitely guesswork
  9. I'd be happy with that.
  10. just mentioned by Cal Twomey that while he is contracted, there have been some interest in Nibbler and fair chance that he could go as to get in players we have to move some out as well. What's he worth?
  11. Really do hope we are into Phillips. Bit like Langdon where he can butcher it every now and then, but spreads and runs really hard and someone I'd much rather on a wing then Tomlinson or Baker.
  12. Nah. They both need to go.
  13. Still to this day one of the most bizarre recruitments we've had...
  14. Sam Edmund on SEN just mentioned we have an interest in Isaac Smith.
  15. Bit disappointing that we haven't been mentioned as a club that's right into Saad. Exactly the type of player we need. Blues adding Saad and Williams will guarantee them a top 8 spot. Two good hard running options that will make an immediate impact straight away. https://coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/afl-trade-whispers-2020-out-of-contract-players-rumours-free-agents-news-adam-saad-carlton-toby-nankervis-braydon-preuss/news-story/8d99294fe77ba746ce55a75e10153746?__twitter_impression=true
  16. Right decision in the end unfortunately. Just hope he gets his life in order now.
  17. From AFL.com regarding Smith. Ideally searching for a two-year contract and it could still come at Hawthorn. But Smith admitted on RSN radio this week he wasn't 100 per cent sure what his future held. Carlton and Melbourne are among the parties having a look at the triple premiership wingman who turns 32 in December but is only 10 years into his career.
  18. Not surprised one bit. Goes in line with him not being well liked by certain senior players because of Viney's stubbornness and arrogance as a person. Though unfortunately he's well like by Goodwin in the same way as Melksham. I also have my views on whether he should be re-signed or not. I'd prefer we look at him exploring his options. His rugby union crash and bash, plus getting caught holding the ball 5 times a game just disrupts our midfield too much. If rumours are true and he's re-signed with the club then he simply has to play as a forward in the same way the dogs have turned Mitch Wallis in that role. Its a pity though that Goodwin is stubborn as [censored] to work that out.
  19. Its seems like its either Carlton or Essendon for Saad. What a pity.
  20. Probably same reason as Viney??
